2 തങ്ങള്‍ സ്നേഹിച്ചതും സേവിച്ചതും പിഞ്ചെന്നു അന്വേഷിച്ചതും നമസ്കരിച്ചതുമായ സൂര്യന്നും ചന്ദ്രന്നും ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്‍വ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും മുമ്പാകെ അവയെ നിരത്തിവേക്കും; ആരും അവയെ പെറുക്കിക്കൂട്ടുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; അവ നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായിത്തീരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3 ഈ ദുഷ്ടവംശങ്ങളില്‍ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശേഷിപ്പു ഒക്കെയും, ഞാന്‍ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവര്‍ തന്നേ, ജീവനെയല്ല മരണത്തെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4 നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒരുത്തന്‍ വീണാല്‍ എഴുനീല്‍ക്കയില്ലയോ? ഒരുത്തന്‍ വഴി തെറ്റിപ്പോയാല്‍ മടങ്ങിവരികയില്ലയോ?

5 യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ജനമോ ഇടവിടാത്ത പിന്മാറ്റമായി പിന്മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നതും വഞ്ചന മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുവാന്‍ മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

6 ഞാന്‍ ശ്രദ്ധവെച്ചു കേട്ടു; അവര്‍ നേരു സംസാരിച്ചില്ല; അയ്യോ ഞാന്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചില്ല; കുതിര പടെക്കു പായുന്നതുപോലെ ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ വഴിക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

7 ആകാശത്തിലെ പെരുഞാറ തന്റെ കാലം അറിയുന്നു; കുറുപ്രാവും മീവല്‍പക്ഷിയും കൊക്കും മടങ്ങിവരവിന്നുള്ള സമയം അനുസരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമോ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായം അറിയുന്നില്ല.

8 ഞങ്ങള്‍ ജ്ഞാനികള്‍; യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല്‍ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെ കള്ളയെഴുത്തുകോല്‍ അതിനെ വ്യാജമാക്കിത്തീര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

9 ജ്ഞാനികള്‍ ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചു പിടിപെട്ടുപോകും; അവര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ധിക്കരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; അവര്‍ക്കും എന്തൊരു ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളു?

10 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ അന്യന്മാര്‍ക്കും അവരുടെ നിലങ്ങളെ അവയെ കൈവശമാക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കും; അവരൊക്കെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികള്‍ ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ വ്യാജം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

11 സമാധാനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ സമാധാനം സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവര്‍ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവിന്നു ലഘുവായി ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.

12 മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര്‍ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവര്‍ ഒരിക്കലും ലജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടില്ല നാണം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ അവര്‍ വീണുപോകും; അവരുടെ ദര്‍ശനകാലത്തു അവര്‍ ഇടറി വീഴും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

13 ഞാന്‍ അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയില്‍ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തില്‍ അത്തിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ഇലയും വാടിപ്പോകും; അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന്‍ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14 നാം അനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു? കൂടിവരുവിന്‍ ; നാം ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില്‍ ചെന്നു അവിടെ നശിച്ചുപോക; നാം യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മെ നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിച്ചു നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

15 നാം സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഗുണവും വന്നില്ല; രോഗശമനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഇതാ, ഭീതി!

16 അവന്റെ കുതിരകളുടെ ചിറാലിപ്പു ദാനില്‍നിന്നു കേള്‍ക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആണ്‍കുതിരകളുടെ മദഗര്‍ജ്ജനംകൊണ്ടു ദേശമൊക്കെയും വിറെക്കുന്നു; അവ വന്നു ദേശത്തെയും അതിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നഗരത്തെയും അതില്‍ വസിക്കുന്നവരെയും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.

17 ഞാന്‍ സര്‍പ്പങ്ങളെയും മന്ത്രം ഫലിക്കാത്ത അണലികളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ അയക്കും; അവ നിങ്ങളെ കടിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18 അയ്യോ, എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില്‍ എനിക്കു ആശ്വാസം വന്നെങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ മനസ്സു വല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

19 കേട്ടോ, ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിസീയോനില്‍ യഹോവ വസിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവളുടെ രാജാവു അവിടെ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു. അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ടും അന്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്‍ത്തികള്‍കൊണ്ടും എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതെന്തിന്നു?

20 കൊയ്ത്തുകഴിഞ്ഞു, ഫലശേഖരവും കഴിഞ്ഞു; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമില്ല.

21 എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്‍ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവു നിമിത്തം ഞാനും മുറിപ്പെട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു; സ്തംഭനം എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

22 ഗിലെയാദില്‍ സുഗന്ധതൈലം ഇല്ലയോ? അവിടെ വൈദ്യന്‍ ഇല്ലയോ? എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്‍ പുത്രിക്കു രോഗശമനം വരാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?
