1 അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ നിഹതന്മാര്‍ നിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കരയേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ തല വെള്ളവും എന്റെ കണ്ണു കണ്ണുനീരുറവും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!
2 അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടു പോയ്ക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ വഴിയാത്രക്കാര്‍ക്കുംള്ള ഒരു സത്രം എനിക്കു കിട്ടിയെങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു! അവരെല്ലാവരും വ്യഭിചാരികളും ദ്രോഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടവുമല്ലോ.
3 അവര്‍ വ്യാജത്തിന്നായിട്ടു നാവു വില്ലുപോലെ കുലെക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ സത്യത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല ദേശത്തു വീര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു; അവര്‍ ഒരു ദോഷം വിട്ടു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര്‍ എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
4 നിങ്ങള്‍ ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ ന്‍ ; ഒരു സഹോദരനിലും നിങ്ങള്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; ഏതു സഹോദരനും ഉപായം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഏതു കൂട്ടുകാരനും നുണ പറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു.
5 അവര്‍ ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിക്കും; സത്യം സംസാരിക്കയുമില്ല; വ്യാജം സംസാരിപ്പാന്‍ അവര്‍ നാവിനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടു പ്രവൃത്തിപ്പാന്‍ അവര്‍ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു.
6 നിന്റെ വാസം വഞ്ചനയുടെ നടുവില്‍ ആകുന്നു; വഞ്ചന നിമിത്തം അവര്‍ എന്നെ അറിവാന്‍ നിരസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
7 അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇതാ ഞാന്‍ അവരെ ഉരുക്കി ശോധന കഴിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയെ വിചാരിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു?
8 അവരുടെ നാവു മരണകരമായ അസ്ത്രമാകുന്നു; അതു വഞ്ചന സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; വായ്കൊണ്ടു ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു സമാധാനം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടോ അവന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
9 ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ അവരെ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാന്‍ പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
10 പര്‍വ്വതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ കരച്ചലും വിലാപവും മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചല്‍പുറങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രലാപവും തുടങ്ങും; ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം അവ വെന്തുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഒച്ച കേള്‍ക്കുന്നില്ല; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും മൃഗങ്ങളും എല്ലാം വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു;
11 ഞാന്‍ യെരൂശലേമിനെ കല്‍കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാര്‍പ്പിടവും ആക്കും; ഞാന്‍ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിവാസികള്‍ എല്ലാതാകുംവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.
12 ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന്‍ തക്ക ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവന്‍ ആര്‍? അവതിനെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ വായ് ആരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു? ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ദേശം നശിച്ചു മരുഭൂമിപോലെ വെന്തുപോകുവാന്‍ സംഗതി എന്തു?
13 യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതുഞന്‍ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ വെച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവര്‍ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്‍ക്കയോ അതു അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ
14 തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യത്തെയും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ തങ്ങളെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച ബാല്‍വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,
15 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന്‍ ഈ ജനത്തെ കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു പോഷിപ്പിച്ചു നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും.
16 അവരും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഞാന്‍ അവരെ ചിന്നിച്ചു, അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാള്‍ അയക്കും.
17 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള്‍ ചിന്തിച്ചു വിലാപക്കാരത്തികളെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുവിന്‍ ; സാമര്‍ത്ഥ്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ ആളയച്ചു വരുത്തുവിന്‍ .
18 നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണില്‍നിന്നു കണ്ണുനീര്‍ ഒഴുകത്തക്കവണ്ണവും നമ്മുടെ കണ്‍പോളയില്‍നിന്നു വെള്ളം ചാടത്തക്കവണ്ണവും അവര്‍ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വിലാപം കഴിക്കട്ടെ.
19 സീയോനില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു വിലാപം കേള്‍ക്കുന്നു; നാം എത്ര ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം അത്യന്തം നാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം ദേശത്തെ വിട്ടുപോയല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ നിവാസങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
20 എന്നാല്‍ സ്ത്രീകളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്‍പ്പിന്‍ ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവി അവന്റെ വായിലെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിലാപവും ഔരോരുത്തി താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരത്തിയെ പ്രലാപവും അഭ്യസിപ്പിപ്പിന്‍ .
21 വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പൈതങ്ങളെയും വീഥികളില്‍നിന്നു യുവാക്കളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരണം നമ്മുടെ കിളിവാതിലുകളില്‍കൂടി കയറി നമ്മുടെ അരമനകളിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
22 മനുഷ്യരുടെ ശവങ്ങള്‍ വയലിലെ ചാണകംപോലെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പിമ്പിലെ അരിപ്പിടിപോലെയും വീഴും; ആരും അവയെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു പറക.
23 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുജ്ഞാനി തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തില്‍ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ബലവാന്‍ തന്റെ ബലത്തില്‍ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ധനവാന്‍ തന്റെ ധനത്തിലും പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു.
24 പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നവനോയഹോവയായ ഞാന്‍ ഭൂമിയില്‍ ദയയും ന്യായവും നീതിയും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്ന ഗ്രഹിച്ചറിയുന്നതില്‍ തന്നേ പ്രശംസിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതില്‍ അല്ലോ എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
25 ഇതാ മിസ്രയീം, യെഹൂദാ, ഏദോം, അമ്മോന്യര്‍, മോവാബ്, തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്ന മരുവാസികള്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അഗ്രചര്‍മ്മത്തോടുകൂടിയ സകല പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരെയും ഞാന്‍ ശിക്ഷിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരുന്നു.
26 സകലജാതികളും അഗ്രചര്‍മ്മികളല്ലോ; എന്നാല്‍ യിസ്രായേല്‍ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ അഗ്രചര്‍മ്മികളാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
1 At that H1931 time, H6256 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 they shall bring out H3318 H853 the bones H6106 of the kings H4428 of Judah, H3063 and the bones H6106 of his princes, H8269 and the bones H6106 of the priests, H3548 and the bones H6106 of the prophets, H5030 and the bones H6106 of the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem, H3389 out of their graves H4480 H6913 :
2 And they shall spread H7849 them before the sun, H8121 and the moon, H3394 and all H3605 the host H6635 of heaven, H8064 whom H834 they have loved, H157 and whom H834 they have served, H5647 and after H310 whom H834 they have walked, H1980 and whom H834 they have sought, H1875 and whom H834 they have worshiped: H7812 they shall not H3808 be gathered, H622 nor H3808 be buried; H6912 they shall be H1961 for dung H1828 upon H5921 the face H6440 of the earth. 4 Moreover thou shalt say H559 unto H413 them, Thus H3541 saith H559 the LORD; H3068 Shall they fall, H5307 and not H3808 arise H6965 ? shall he turn away, H7725 and not H3808 return H7725 ?
5 Why H4069 then is this H2088 people H5971 of Jerusalem H3389 slid back H7725 by a perpetual H5329 backsliding H4878 ? they hold fast H2388 deceit, H8649 they refuse H3985 to return. H7725
6 I hearkened H7181 and heard, H8085 but they spoke H1696 not H3808 aright: H3651 no H369 man H376 repented H5162 him of H5921 his wickedness, H7451 saying, H559 What H4100 have I done H6213 ? every one H3605 turned H7725 to his course, H4794 as the horse H5483 rusheth H7857 into the battle. H4421
7 Yea H1571 , the stork H2624 in the heaven H8064 knoweth H3045 her appointed times; H4150 and the turtle H8449 and the crane H5483 and the swallow H5693 observe H8104 H853 the time H6256 of their coming; H935 but my people H5971 know H3045 not H3808 H853 the judgment H4941 of the LORD. H3068
8 How H349 do ye say, H559 We H587 are wise, H2450 and the law H8451 of the LORD H3068 is with H854 us? Lo, H2009 certainly H403 in vain H8267 made H6213 he it ; the pen H5842 of the scribes H5608 is in vain. H8267
9 The wise H2450 men are ashamed, H954 they are dismayed H2865 and taken: H3920 lo, H2009 they have rejected H3988 the word H1697 of the LORD; H3068 and what H4100 wisdom H2451 is in them?
10 Therefore H3651 will I give H5414 H853 their wives H802 unto others, H312 and their fields H7704 to them that shall inherit H3423 them : for H3588 every one H3605 from the least H4480 H6996 even unto H5704 the greatest H1419 is given to covetousness H1214 H1215 , from the prophet H4480 H5030 even unto H5704 the priest H3548 every one H3605 dealeth H6213 falsely. 11 For they have healed H7495 H853 the hurt H7667 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 slightly, H7043 saying, H559 Peace, H7965 peace; H7965 when there is no H369 peace. H7965
12 Were they ashamed H954 when H3588 they had committed H6213 abomination H8441 ? nay, H1571 they were not H3808 at all ashamed H954 H954 , neither H3808 could H3045 they blush: H3637 therefore H3651 shall they fall H5307 among them that fall: H5307 in the time H6256 of their visitation H6486 they shall be cast down, H3782 saith H559 the LORD. 13 I will surely consume H5486 H5486 them, saith H5002 the LORD: H3068 there shall be no H369 grapes H6025 on the vine, H1612 nor H369 figs H8384 on the fig tree, H8384 and the leaf H5929 shall fade; H5034 and the things that I have given H5414 them shall pass away H5674 from them.
14 Why H4100 H5921 do we H587 sit H3427 still? assemble yourselves, H622 and let us enter H935 into H413 the defensed H4013 cities, H5892 and let us be silent H1826 there: H8033 for H3588 the LORD H3068 our God H430 hath put us to silence, H1826 and given us water H4325 of gall H7219 to drink, H8248 because H3588 we have sinned H2398 against the LORD. 15 We looked H6960 for peace, H7965 but no H369 good H2896 came; and for a time H6256 of health, H4832 and behold H2009 trouble H1205 !
16 The snorting H5170 of his horses H5483 was heard H8085 from Dan H4480 H1835 : the whole H3605 land H776 trembled H7493 at the sound H4480 H6963 of the neighing H4684 of his strong ones; H47 for they are come, H935 and have devoured H398 the land, H776 and all H4393 that is in it ; the city, H5892 and those that dwell H3427 therein.
17 For H3588 , behold, H2009 I will send H7971 serpents, H5175 cockatrices, H6848 among you, which H834 will not H369 be charmed, H3908 and they shall bite H5391 you, saith H5002 the LORD. H3068
18 When I would comfort H4010 myself against H5921 sorrow, H3015 my heart H3820 is faint H1742 in H5921 me.
19 Behold H2009 the voice H6963 of the cry H7775 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 because of them that dwell in a far H4801 country H4480 H776 : Is not H369 the LORD H3068 in Zion H6726 ? is not H369 her king H4428 in her? Why H4069 have they provoked me to anger H3707 with their graven images, H6456 and with strange H5236 vanities H1892 ?
20 The harvest H7105 is past, H5674 the summer H7019 is ended, H3615 and we H587 are not H3808 saved. H3467
21 For H5921 the hurt H7667 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 am I hurt; H7665 I am black; H6937 astonishment H8047 hath taken hold H2388 on me.
22 Is there no H369 balm H6875 in Gilead; H1568 is there no H369 physician H7495 there H8033 ? why H4069 then H3588 is not H3808 the health H724 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 recovered H5927 ?
