1 വെള്ളിക്കു ഒരു ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനവും പൊന്നു ഊതിക്കഴിപ്പാന്‍ ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു.
2 ഇരിമ്പു മണ്ണില്‍നിന്നെടുക്കുന്നു; കല്ലുരുക്കി ചെമ്പെടുക്കുന്നു.
3 മനുഷ്യന്‍ അന്ധകാരത്തിന്നു ഒരതിര്‍ വെക്കുന്നു; കൂരിരുളിലെയും അന്ധതമസ്സിലെയും കല്ലിനെ അങ്ങേയറ്റംവരെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
4 പാര്‍പ്പുള്ളേടത്തുനിന്നു ദൂരെ അവര്‍ കുഴികുത്തുന്നു; കടന്നുപോകുന്ന കാലിന്നു അവര്‍ മറന്നു പോയവര്‍ തന്നേ; മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കും അകലെ അവര്‍ തൂങ്ങി ആടുന്നു.
5 ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്നു ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ അധോഭാഗം തീകൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മറിയുന്നു.
6 അതിലെ പാറകള്‍ നീലരത്നത്തിന്റെ ഉല്പത്തിസ്ഥാനം; കനകപ്പൊടിയും അതില്‍ ഉണ്ടു.
7 അതിന്റെ പാത കഴുകന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പരുന്തിന്റെ കണ്ണു അതിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
8 പുളെച്ച കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങള്‍ അതില്‍ ചവിട്ടീട്ടില്ല; ഘോരസിംഹം അതിലെ നടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
9 അവര്‍ തീക്കല്‍പാറയിലേക്കു കൈനീട്ടുന്നു; പര്‍വ്വതങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ വേരോടെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
10 അവര്‍ പാറകളുടെ ഇടയില്‍കൂടി നടകളെ വെട്ടുന്നു; അവരുടെ കണ്ണു വിലയേറിയ വസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
11 അവര്‍ നീരൊഴുക്കുകളെ ചോരാതവണ്ണം അടെച്ചു നിര്‍ത്തുന്നു; ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നതു അവര്‍ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
12 എന്നാല്‍ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടും? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
13 അതിന്റെ വില മനുഷ്യന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തു അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല.
14 അതു എന്നില്‍ ഇല്ല എന്നു ആഴി പറയുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ പക്കല്‍ ഇല്ല എന്നു സമുദ്രവും പറയുന്നു.
15 തങ്കം കൊടുത്താല്‍ അതു കിട്ടുന്നതല്ല; അതിന്റെ വിലയായി വെള്ളി തൂക്കിക്കൊടുക്കാറുമില്ല.
16 ഔഫീര്‍പൊന്നോ വിലയേറിയ ഗോമേദകമോ നീലരത്നമോ ഒന്നും അതിന്നു ഈടാകുന്നതല്ല;
17 സ്വര്‍ണ്ണവും സ്ഫടികവും അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കം കൊണ്ടുള്ള പണ്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അതിനെ മാറിക്കൊടുപ്പാറില്ല.
18 പവിഴത്തിന്റെയും പളുങ്കിന്റെയും പേര്‍ മിണ്ടുകേ വേണ്ടാ; ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ വില മുത്തുകളിലും കവിഞ്ഞതല്ലോ.
19 കൂശിലെ പുഷ്പരാഗം അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ വില മതിക്കാകുന്നതുമല്ല.
20 പിന്നെ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
21 അതു സകലജീവികളുടെയും കണ്ണുകള്‍ക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള്‍ക്കു അതു ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
22 ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചെവികൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ കേള്‍വി കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു നരകവും മരണവും പറയുന്നു.
23 ദൈവം അതിന്റെ വഴി അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു.
24 അവന്‍ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളോളവും നോക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
25 അവന്‍ കാറ്റിനെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുകയും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ അളവു നിശ്ചയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
26 അവന്‍ മഴെക്കു ഒരു നിയമവും ഇടിമിന്നലിന്നു ഒരു വഴിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയപ്പോള്‍
27 അവന്‍ അതു കണ്ടു വര്‍ണ്ണിക്കയും അതു സ്ഥാപിച്ചു പരിശോധിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
28 കര്‍ത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തി തന്നേ ജ്ഞാനം; ദോഷം അകന്നു നടക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ വിവേകം എന്നു അവന്‍ മനുഷ്യനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

16 It cannot H3808 be valued H5541 with the gold H3800 of Ophir, H211 with the precious H3368 onyx, H7718 or the sapphire. H5601
