1 ആദിയില്‍ വചനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവം ആയിരുന്നു.

2 അവന്‍ ആദിയില്‍ ദൈവത്തോടു കൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

3 സകലവും അവന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ഉളവായത് ഒന്നും അവനെ കൂടാതെ ഉളവായതല്ല.

4 അവനില്‍ ജീവന്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജീവന്‍ മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെളിച്ചമായിരുന്നു.

5 വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളില്‍ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുളോ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയില്ല.

6 ദൈവം അയച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ വന്നു; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാന്‍ എന്നു പേര്‍.

7 അവന്‍ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി താന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാന്‍ തന്നേ വന്നു.

8 അവന്‍ വെളിച്ചം ആയിരുന്നില്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടുന്നവനത്രേ.

9 ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സത്യവെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

10 അവന്‍ ലോകത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ലോകം അവന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ലോകമോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

11 അവന്‍ സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു; സ്വന്തമായവരോ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.

12 അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്‍ക്കും ദൈവമക്കള്‍ ആകുവാന്‍ അവന്‍ അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

13 അവര്‍ രക്തത്തില്‍ നിന്നല്ല, ജഡത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലല്ല, പുരുഷന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലുമല്ല, ദൈവത്തില്‍ നിന്നത്രേ ജനിച്ചതു.

14 വചനം ജഡമായി തീര്‍ന്നു, കൃപയും സത്യവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തു. ഞങ്ങള്‍ അവന്റെ തേജസ്സ് പിതാവില്‍ നിന്നു ഏകജാതനായവന്റെ തേജസ്സായി കണ്ടു.

15 യോഹന്നാന്‍ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുഎന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവന്‍ എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീര്‍ന്നു; അവന്‍ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞവന്‍ ഇവന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

16 അവന്റെ നിറവില്‍ നിന്നു നമുക്കു എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും കൃപമേല്‍ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17 ന്യായപ്രമാണം മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം ലഭിച്ചു; കൃപയും സത്യവും യേശുക്രിസ്തു മുഖാന്തരം വന്നു.

18 ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രന്‍ അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

19 നീ ആര്‍ എന്നു യോഹന്നാനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ യെരൂശലേമില്‍ നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ അയച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്തെന്നാല്‍അവന്‍ മറുക്കാതെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു;

20 ഞാന്‍ ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല എന്നു ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു.

21 പിന്നെ എന്തു? നീ ഏലീയാവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ ആ പ്രവാചകനോ? എന്നതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു അവന്‍ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

22 അവര്‍ അവനോടുനീ ആരാകുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23 അതിന്നു അവന്‍ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെകര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി നേരെ ആക്കുവിന്‍ എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാന്‍ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24 അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.

25 എന്നാല്‍ നീ ക്രിസ്തുവല്ല, ഏലീയാവല്ല, ആ പ്രവാചകനും അല്ല എന്നു വരികില്‍ നീ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവര്‍ ചോദിച്ചു.

26 അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയാത്ത ഒരുത്തന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ നിലക്കുന്നുണ്ടു;

27 എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവന്‍ തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു അഴിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ യോഗ്യന്‍ അല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28 ഇതു യോര്‍ദ്ദന്നക്കാരെ യോഹന്നാന്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ബേഥാന്യയില്‍ സംഭവിച്ചു.

29 പിറ്റെന്നാള്‍ യേശു തന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരുന്നതു അവന്‍ കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ലോകത്തിന്റെ പാപം ചുമക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു;

30 എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന്‍ വരുന്നു; അവന്‍ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീര്‍ന്നു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞവന്‍ ഇവന്‍ തന്നേ.

31 ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും അവന്‍ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32 യോഹന്നാന്‍ പിന്നെയും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞതുആത്മാവു ഒരു പ്രാവുപോലെ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടു; അതു അവന്റെ മേല്‍ വസിച്ചു.

33 ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്‍ എന്നോടുആരുടെമേല്‍ ആത്മാവു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും വസിക്കുന്നതും നീ കാണുമോ അവന്‍ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34 അങ്ങനെ ഞാന്‍ കാണുകയും ഇവന്‍ ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

35 പിറ്റെന്നാള്‍ യോഹന്നാന്‍ പിന്നെയും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില്‍ രണ്ടുപേരുമായി അവിടെ നിലക്കുമ്പോള്‍

36 കടന്നുപോകുന്ന യേശുവിനെ നോക്കീട്ടുഇതാ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37 അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതു ആ രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ കേട്ടു യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

38 യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവര്‍ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്‍ എന്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവര്‍റബ്ബീ, എന്നു വെച്ചാല്‍ ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

39 അവന്‍ അവരോടുവന്നു കാണ്മിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന്‍ വസിക്കുന്ന ഇടം അവര്‍ കണ്ടു അന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍ത്തു; അപ്പോള്‍ ഏകദേശം പത്താംമണി നേരം ആയിരുന്നു.

40 യോഹന്നാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ച രണ്ടുപേരില്‍ ഒരുത്തന്‍ ശിമോന്‍ പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് ആയിരുന്നു.

41 അവന്‍ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശിമോനെ ആദ്യം കണ്ടു അവനോടുഞങ്ങള്‍ മശീഹയെ എന്നുവെച്ചാല്‍ ക്രിസ്തുവെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

42 അവനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യേശു അവനെ നോക്കിനീ യോഹന്നാന്റെ പുത്രനായ ശിമോന്‍ ആകുന്നു; നിനക്കു കേഫാ എന്നു പേരാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു പത്രൊസ് എന്നാകുന്നു.

43 പിറ്റെന്നാള്‍ യേശു ഗലീലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാന്‍ ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെ കണ്ടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

44 ഫിലിപ്പോസോ അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും പത്രൊസിന്റെയും പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത് സയിദയില്‍നിന്നുള്ളവന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.

45 ഫിലിപ്പോസ് നഥനയേലിനെ കണ്ടു അവനോടുന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില്‍ മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു എന്ന നസറെത്തുകാരന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

46 നഥനയേല്‍ അവനോടുനസറെത്തില്‍നിന്നു വല്ല നന്മയും വരുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് അവനോടുവന്നു കാണ്‍ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47 നഥനയേല്‍ തന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടുഇതാ, സാക്ഷാല്‍ യിസ്രായേല്യന്‍ ; ഇവനില്‍ കപടം ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

48 നഥനയേല്‍ അവനോടുഎന്നെ എവിടെവെച്ചു അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഫിലിപ്പോസ് നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നീ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ കണ്ടു എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

49 നഥനയേല്‍ അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ , നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

50 യേശു അവനോടുഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില്‍ കണ്ടു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറകകൊണ്ടു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ഇതിനെക്കാള്‍ വലിയതു കാണും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

51 ആമേന്‍ ആമേന്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുസ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ദൈവദൂതന്മാര്‍ കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങള്‍ കാണും എന്നും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
