1 യോശുവ ഹായിപട്ടണം പിടിച്ചു നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി എന്നും അവന്‍ യെരീഹോവിനോടും അതിന്റെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഹായിയോടും അതിന്റെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തു എന്നും ഗിബെയോന്‍ നിവാസികള്‍ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു സഖ്യത ചെയ്തു അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായി എന്നും യെരൂശലേംരാജാവായ അദോനീ-സേദെക്‍ കേട്ടപ്പോള്‍

2 ഗിബെയോന്‍ രാജനഗരങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നുപോലെ വലിയോരു പട്ടണവും ഹായിയെക്കാള്‍ വലിയതും അവിടത്തെ പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ എല്ലാവരും പരാക്രമശാലികളും ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര്‍ ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

3 ആകയാല്‍ യെരൂശലേംരാജാവായ അദോനീ-സേദെക്‍ ഹെബ്രോന്‍ രാജാവായ ഹോഹാമിന്റെയും യര്‍മ്മൂത്ത്രാജാവായ പിരാമിന്റെയും ലാഖീശ്രാജാവായ യാഹീയയുടെയും എഗ്ളോന്‍ രാജാവായ ദെബീരിന്റെയും അടുക്കല്‍ ആളയച്ചു

4 ഗിബെയോന്‍ യോശുവയോടും യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളോടും സഖ്യതചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു നാം അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ സഹായിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

5 ഇങ്ങനെ യെരൂശലേംരാജാവു, ഹെബ്രോന്‍ രാജാവു, യര്‍മ്മൂത്ത് രാജാവു, ലാഖീശ്രാജാവു, എഗ്ളോന്‍ രാജാവു എന്നീ അഞ്ചു അമോര്‍യ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി; അവരും അവരുടെ സൈന്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ചെന്നു ഗിബെയോന്നുനേരെ പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി അതിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.

6 അപ്പോള്‍ ഗിബെയോന്യര്‍ ഗില്ഗാലില്‍ പാളയത്തിലേക്കു യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ആളയച്ചുഅടിയങ്ങളെ കൈവിടാതെ വേഗം ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; പര്‍വ്വതങ്ങളില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്ന അമോര്‍യ്യരാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ ഒക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

7 എന്നാറെ യോശുവയും പടജ്ജനം ഒക്കെയും സകലപരാക്രമശാലികളും ഗില്ഗാലില്‍നിന്നു പറപ്പെട്ടു.

8 യഹോവ യോശുവയോടുഅവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ഞാന്‍ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരില്‍ ഒരുത്തനും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ നില്‍ക്കയില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

9 യോശുവ ഗില്ഗാലില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു രാത്രി മുഴുവനും നടന്നു പെട്ടെന്നു അവരെ എതിര്‍ത്തു.

10 യഹോവ അവരെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ കുഴക്കി ഗിബെയോനില്‍വെച്ചു അവരെ കഠിനമായി തോല്പിച്ചു ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റംവഴിയായി അവരെ ഔടിച്ചു അസേക്കവരെയും മക്കേദവരെയും അവരെ വെട്ടി.

11 അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു ഔടി; ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോന്‍ ഇറക്കത്തില്‍വെച്ചു അസേക്കവരെ യഹോവ ആകാശത്തില്‍നിന്നു വലിയ കല്ലു അവരുടെ മേല്‍ പെയ്യിച്ചു അവരെ കൊന്നു. യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ വാള്‍കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നവരെക്കാള്‍ കല്മഴയാല്‍ മരിച്ചുപോയവര്‍ അധികം ആയിരുന്നു.

12 എന്നാല്‍ യഹോവ അമോര്‍യ്യരെ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ദിവസം യോശുവ യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ കേള്‍ക്കെസൂര്യാ, നീ ഗിബെയോനിലും ചന്ദ്രാ, നീ അയ്യാലോന്‍ താഴ്വരയിലും നില്‍ക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13 ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുവോളം സൂര്യന്‍ നിന്നു, ചന്ദ്രനും നിശ്ചലമായി. ശൂരന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ അങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യന്‍ ആകാശമദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു ദിവസം മുഴുവന്‍ അസ്തമിക്കാതെ നിന്നു.

14 യഹോവ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ച ആ ദിവസം പോലെ ഒരു ദിവസം അതിന്നു മുമ്പും പിമ്പും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; യഹോവ തന്നേയായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്നുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധംചെയ്തതു.

15 അനന്തരം യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും ഗില്ഗാലില്‍ പാളയത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

16 എന്നാല്‍ ആ രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ ഐവരും ഔടി മക്കേദയിലെ ഗുഹയില്‍ ചെന്നു ഒളിച്ചു.

17 രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ ഐവരും മക്കേദയിലെ ഗുഹയില്‍ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടു എന്നു യോശുവേക്കു അറിവുകിട്ടി.

18 എന്നാറെ യോശുവഗുഹയുടെ ദ്വാരത്തിങ്കല്‍ വലിയ കല്ലുകള്‍ ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ചു അവരെ കാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ആളെയാക്കുവിന്‍ ;

19 നിങ്ങളോ നില്‍ക്കാതെ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തുടര്‍ന്നു അവരുടെ പിന്‍ പടയെ സംഹരിപ്പിന്‍ ; പട്ടണങ്ങളില്‍ കടപ്പാന്‍ അവരെ സമ്മതിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20 അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ ഒടുങ്ങുംവരെ യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളും അവരില്‍ ഒരു മഹാസംഹാരം നടത്തിക്കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ ശേഷിച്ചവര്‍ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില്‍ ശരണം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

21 ജനമൊക്കെയും സമാധാനത്തോടെ മക്കേദയിലെ പാളയത്തില്‍ യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ മടങ്ങിവന്നു; യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളില്‍ യാതൊരുത്തന്റെയും നേരെ ആരും തന്റെ നാവു അനക്കിയതുമില്ല.

22 പിന്നെ യോശുവഗുഹയുടെ ദ്വാരത്തെ തുറന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരെ ഐവരെയും ഗുഹയില്‍നിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 അവര്‍ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു; യെരൂശലേംരാജാവു, ഹെബ്രോന്‍ രാജാവു, യര്‍മ്മൂത്ത്രാജാവു, ലാഖീശ്രാജാവു, എഗ്ളോന്‍ രാജാവു എന്നീ അഞ്ചുരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഗുഹയില്‍നിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

24 രാജാക്കന്മാരെ യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോള്‍ യോശുവ യിസ്രായേല്‍പുരുഷന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു തന്നോടുകൂടെ പോയ പടജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിമാരോടുഅടുത്തുവന്നു ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കഴുത്തില്‍ കാല്‍ വെപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവര്‍ അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരുടെ കഴുത്തില്‍ കാല്‍ വെച്ചു.

25 യോശുവ അവരോടുഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ശങ്കിക്കരുതു; ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവരായിരിപ്പിന്‍ ; നിങ്ങള്‍ യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്ന സകലശത്രുക്കളോടും യഹോവ ഇങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26 അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യോശുവ അവരെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു അഞ്ചു മരത്തിന്മേല്‍ തൂക്കി. അവര്‍ സന്ധ്യവരെ തൂങ്ങിക്കിടന്നു.

27 സൂര്യന്‍ അസ്തമിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു യോശുവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം അവരെ മരത്തിന്മേല്‍നിന്നു ഇറക്കി അവര്‍ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്ന ഗുഹയില്‍ ഇട്ടു; ഗുഹയുടെ ദ്വാരത്തിങ്കല്‍ വലിയ കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ചു; അതു ഇന്നുവരെയും അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

28 അന്നു യോശുവ മക്കേദ പിടിച്ചു വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ സംഹരിച്ചു അതിനെയും അതിലെ രാജാവിനെയും അവിടെയുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി; ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല; അവന്‍ യെരീഹോരാജാവിനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ മക്കേദാരാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തു.

29 യോശുവയും അവനോടുകൂടെ യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും മക്കേദയില്‍നിന്നു ലിബ്നെക്കുചെന്നു ലിബ്നെയോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.

30 യഹോവ അതിനെയും അതിലെ രാജാവിനെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവര്‍ അതിനെയും അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ സംഹരിച്ചു; അവിടെ ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല; യെരീഹോരാജാവിനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവര്‍ അവിടത്തെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തു.

31 യോശുവയും അവനോടുകൂടെ യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും ലിബ്നയില്‍നിന്നു ലാഖീശിന്നു ചെന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി അതിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.

32 യഹോവ ലാഖീശിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവര്‍ അതിനെ രണ്ടാം ദിവസം പിടിച്ചു; ലിബ്നയോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അതിനെയും അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ സംഹരിച്ചു.

33 അപ്പോള്‍ ഗേസെര്‍രാജാവായ ഹോരാം ലാഖീശിനെ സഹായിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ യോശുവ അവനെയും അവന്റെ ജനത്തെയും ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം സംഹരിച്ചു.

34 യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും ലാഖീശില്‍നിന്നു എഗ്ളോന്നു ചെന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ പാളയമിറങ്ങി അതിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.

35 അവര്‍ അന്നു തന്നേ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ സംഹരിച്ചു; ലാഖീശിനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അവന്‍ അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും അന്നു നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി.

36 യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും എഗ്ളോനില്‍നിന്നു ഹെബ്രോന്നു ചെന്നു; അതിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.

37 അവര്‍ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ അതിനെയും അതിലെ രാജാവിനെയും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളെയും അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും സംഹരിച്ചു; അവന്‍ എഗ്ളോനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അതിനെയും അതിലുള്ള സകലമനുഷ്യരെയും ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി.

38 പിന്നെ യോശുവയും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും തിരിഞ്ഞു ദെബീരിന്നു ചെന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.

39 അവന്‍ അതിനെയും അതിലെ രാജാവിനെയും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളെയും പിടിച്ചു വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ സംഹരിച്ചു; അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി; അവന്‍ ഹെബ്രോനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെയും ലിബ്നയോടും അതിലെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെയും ദെബീരിനോടും അതിലെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തു.

40 ഇങ്ങനെ യോശുവ മലനാടു, തെക്കേ ദേശം, താഴ്വീതി, മലഞ്ചരിവുകള്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള ദേശം ഒക്കെയും അവിടങ്ങളിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ജയിച്ചടക്കി; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവന്‍ ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ സകലജീവികളെയും നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കി.

41 യോശുവ കാദേശ് ബര്‍ന്നേയമുതല്‍ ഗസ്സാവരെയും ഗിബെയോന്‍ വരെയും ഗോശെന്‍ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ജയിച്ചടക്കി.

42 ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ ദേശത്തെയും യോശുവ ഒരേ സമയത്തു പിടിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തതു.

43 പിന്നെ യോശുവയും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഗില്ഗാലില്‍ പാളയത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

17 And it was told ^H5046 Joshua, ^H3091 saying, ^H559 The five ^H2568 kings ^H4428 are found ^H4672 hid ^H2244 in a cave ^H4631 at Makkedah. ^H4719

18 And Joshua ^H3091 said, ^H559 Roll ^H1556 great ^H1419 stones ^H68 upon ^H413 the mouth ^H6310 of the cave, ^H4631 and set ^H6485 men ^H376 by ^H5921 it for to keep ^H8104 them:

19 And stay ^H5975 ye ^H859 not, ^H408 but pursue ^H7291 after ^H310 your enemies, ^H341 and smite the hindmost ^H2179 of them; suffer ^H5414 them not ^H408 to enter ^H935 into ^H413 their cities: ^H5892 for ^H3588 the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430 hath delivered ^H5414 them into your hand. ^H3027

20 And it came to pass, ^H1961 when Joshua ^H3091 and the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 had made an end ^H3615 of slaying ^H5221 them with a very ^H3966 great ^H1419 slaughter, ^H4347 till ^H5704 they were consumed, ^H8552 that the rest ^H8300 which remained ^H8277 of ^H4480 them entered ^H935 into ^H413 fenced ^H4013 cities. ^H5892

21 And all ^H3605 the people ^H5971 returned ^H7725 to ^H413 the camp ^H4264 to ^H413 Joshua ^H3091 at Makkedah ^H4719 in peace: ^H7965 none ^H3808 moved ^H2782 ^H853 his tongue ^H3956 against any ^H376 of the children ^H1121 of Israel. ^H3478

22 Then said ^H559 Joshua, ^H3091 Open ^H6605 ^H853 the mouth ^H6310 of the cave, ^H4631 and bring out ^H3318 ^H853 those ^H428 five ^H2568 kings ^H4428 unto ^H413 me out of ^H4480 the cave. ^H4631

23 And they did ^H6213 so, ^H3651 and brought forth ^H3318 ^H853 those ^H428 five ^H2568 kings ^H4428 unto ^H413 him out of ^H4480 the cave, ^H4631 ^H853 the king ^H4428 of Jerusalem, ^H3389 ^H853 the king ^H4428 of Hebron, ^H2275 ^H853 the king ^H4428 of Jarmuth, ^H3412 ^H853 the king ^H4428 of Lachish, ^H3923 and ^H853 the king ^H4428 of Eglon. ^H5700

24 And it came to pass, ^H1961 when they brought out ^H3318 ^H853 those ^H428 kings ^H4428 unto ^H413 Joshua, ^H3091 that Joshua ^H3091 called ^H7121 for ^H413 all ^H3605 the men ^H376 of Israel, ^H3478 and said ^H559 unto ^H413 the captains ^H7101 of the men ^H376 of war ^H4421 which went ^H1980 with ^H854 him , Come near, ^H7126 put ^H7760 ^H853 your feet ^H7272 upon ^H5921 the necks ^H6677 of these ^H428 kings. ^H4428 And they came near, ^H7126 and put ^H7760 ^H853 their feet ^H7272 upon ^H5921 the necks ^H6677 of them.

25 And Joshua ^H3091 said ^H559 unto ^H413 them, Fear ^H3372 not, ^H408 nor ^H408 be dismayed, ^H2865 be strong ^H2388 and of good courage: ^H553 for ^H3588 thus ^H3602 shall the LORD ^H3068 do ^H6213 to all ^H3605 your enemies ^H341 against whom ^H834 ^H853 ye ^H859 fight. ^H3898

26 And afterward ^H310 ^H3651 Joshua ^H3091 smote ^H5221 them , and slew ^H4191 them , and hanged ^H8518 them on ^H5921 five ^H2568 trees: ^H6086 and they were ^H1961 hanging ^H8518 upon ^H5921 the trees ^H6086 until ^H5704 the evening. ^H6153

27 And it came to pass ^H1961 at the time ^H6256 of the going down ^H935 of the sun, ^H8121 that Joshua ^H3091 commanded, ^H6680 and they took them down ^H3381 off the trees ^H4480 H5921, ^H6086 and cast ^H7993 them into ^H413 the cave ^H4631 wherein ^H834 ^H8033 they had been hid, ^H2244 and laid ^H7760 great ^H1419 stones ^H68 in ^H5921 the cave's ^H4631 mouth, ^H6310 which remain until ^H5704 this ^H2088 very ^H6106 day. ^H3117

28 And that ^H1931 day ^H3117 Joshua ^H3091 took ^H3920 Makkedah, ^H4719 and smote ^H5221 it with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and the king ^H4428 thereof he utterly destroyed ^H2763 them , and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein ; he let ^H7604 none ^H3808 remain: ^H8300 and he did ^H6213 to the king ^H4428 of Makkedah ^H4719 as ^H834 he did ^H6213 unto the king ^H4428 of Jericho. ^H3405

29 Then Joshua ^H3091 passed ^H5674 from Makkedah ^H4480 ^H4719 , and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him , unto Libnah, ^H3841 and fought ^H3898 against ^H5973 Libnah: ^H3841

30 And the LORD ^H3068 delivered ^H5414 it also, ^H1571 and the king ^H4428 thereof , into the hand ^H3027 of Israel; ^H3478 and he smote ^H5221 it with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein ; he let ^H7604 none ^H3808 remain ^H8300 in it ; but did ^H6213 unto the king ^H4428 thereof as ^H834 he did ^H6213 unto the king ^H4428 of Jericho. ^H3405

31 And Joshua ^H3091 passed ^H5674 from Libnah ^H4480 ^H3841 , and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him , unto Lachish, ^H3923 and encamped ^H2583 against ^H5921 it , and fought ^H3898 against it:

32 And the LORD ^H3068 delivered ^H5414 ^H853 Lachish ^H3923 into the hand ^H3027 of Israel, ^H3478 which took ^H3920 it on the second ^H8145 day, ^H3117 and smote ^H5221 it with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein , according to all ^H3605 that ^H834 he had done ^H6213 to Libnah. ^H3841

33 Then ^H227 Horam ^H2036 king ^H4428 of Gezer ^H1507 came up ^H5927 to help ^H5826 ^H853 Lachish; ^H3923 and Joshua ^H3091 smote ^H5221 him and his people, ^H5971 until ^H5704 he had left ^H7604 him none ^H1115 remaining. ^H8300

34 And from Lachish ^H4480 ^H3923 Joshua ^H3091 passed ^H5674 unto Eglon, ^H5700 and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him ; and they encamped ^H2583 against ^H5921 it , and fought ^H3898 against ^H5921 it:

35 And they took ^H3920 it on that ^H1931 day, ^H3117 and smote ^H5221 it with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein he utterly destroyed ^H2763 that ^H1931 day, ^H3117 according to all ^H3605 that ^H834 he had done ^H6213 to Lachish. ^H3923

36 And Joshua ^H3091 went up ^H5927 from Eglon ^H4480 ^H5700 , and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him , unto Hebron; ^H2275 and they fought ^H3898 against ^H5921 it:

37 And they took ^H3920 it , and smote ^H5221 it with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and the king ^H4428 thereof , and all ^H3605 the cities ^H5892 thereof , and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein ; he left ^H7604 none ^H3808 remaining, ^H8300 according to all ^H3605 that ^H834 he had done ^H6213 to Eglon; ^H5700 but destroyed ^H2763 it utterly , and all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein.

38 And Joshua ^H3091 returned, ^H7725 and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him , to Debir; ^H1688 and fought ^H3898 against ^H5921 it:

39 And he took ^H3920 it , and the king ^H4428 thereof , and all ^H3605 the cities ^H5892 thereof ; and they smote ^H5221 them with the edge ^H6310 of the sword, ^H2719 and utterly destroyed ^H2763 ^H853 all ^H3605 the souls ^H5315 that ^H834 were therein ; he left ^H7604 none ^H3808 remaining: ^H8300 as ^H834 he had done ^H6213 to Hebron, ^H2275 so ^H3651 he did ^H6213 to Debir, ^H1688 and to the king ^H4428 thereof; as ^H834 he had done ^H6213 also to Libnah, ^H3841 and to her king. ^H4428

40 So Joshua ^H3091 smote ^H5221 ^H853 all ^H3605 the country ^H776 of the hills, ^H2022 and of the south, ^H5045 and of the vale, ^H8219 and of the springs, ^H794 and all ^H3605 their kings: ^H4428 he left ^H7604 none ^H3808 remaining, ^H8300 but utterly destroyed ^H2763 all ^H3605 that breathed, ^H5397 as ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 commanded. ^H6680

41 And Joshua ^H3091 smote ^H5221 them from Kadesh ^H4480 ^H6947 -barnea even unto ^H5704 Gaza, ^H5804 and all ^H3605 the country ^H776 of Goshen, ^H1657 even unto ^H5704 Gibeon. ^H1391

42 And all ^H3605 these ^H428 kings ^H4428 and their land ^H776 did Joshua ^H3091 take ^H3920 at one ^H259 time, ^H6471 because ^H3588 the LORD ^H3068 God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 fought ^H3898 for Israel. ^H3478

43 And Joshua ^H3091 returned, ^H7725 and all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 him, unto ^H413 the camp ^H4264 to Gilgal. ^H1537
