1 ജനമൊക്കെയും യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്‍ കടന്നുതീര്‍ന്നശേഷം യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍
2 നിങ്ങള്‍ ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില്‍ നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള്‍ വീതം ജനത്തില്‍നിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ കൂട്ടി അവരോടു
3 യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്‍ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ കാല്‍ ഉറച്ചുനിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു എടുത്തു കരെക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഈ രാത്രി നിങ്ങള്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു വെപ്പാന്‍ കല്പിപ്പിന്‍ .
4 അങ്ങനെ യോശുവ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള്‍ വീതം നിയമിച്ചിരുന്ന പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ വിളിച്ചു.
5 യോശുവ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു മുമ്പില്‍ ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രസംഖ്യകൂ ഒത്തവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളില്‍ ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ ഔരോ കല്ലു ചുമലില്‍ എടുക്കേണം.
6 ഇതു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഒരു അടയാളമായിരിക്കേണം; ഈ കല്ലു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്‍ വരുങ്കാലത്തു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്‍
7 യോര്‍ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതുനിമിത്തം തന്നേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറയേണം. അതു യോര്‍ദ്ദാനെ കടന്നപ്പോള്‍ യോര്‍ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ കല്ലു യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ക്കു എന്നേക്കും ജ്ഞാപകമായിരിക്കേണം.
8 യോശുവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ ചെയ്തു; യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രസംഖ്യെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്‍നിന്നു എടുത്തു തങ്ങള്‍ പാര്‍ത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെച്ചു.
9 യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവിലും നിയമപെട്ടകം ചുമന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ കാല്‍ നിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു യോശുവ പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു നാട്ടി; അവ ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടു.
10 മോശെ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ജനത്തോടു പറവാന്‍ യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തുതീരുവോളം പെട്ടകം ചുമന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്‍ നിന്നു; ജനം വേഗത്തില്‍ മറുകര കടന്നു.
11 ജനമൊക്കെയും കടന്നു തീര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍ ജനം കാണ്‍കെ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും മറുകര കടന്നു.
12 മോശെ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ രൂബേന്യരും ഗാദ്യരും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രവും യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പായി യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി കടന്നു.
13 ഏകദേശം നാല്പതിനായിരം പേര്‍ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു യെരീഹോസമഭൂമിയില്‍ കടന്നു.
14 അന്നു യഹോവ യോശുവയെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ വലിയവനാക്കി;
15 അവര്‍ മോശെയെ ബഹുമാനിച്ചതുപോലെ അവനെയും അവന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമൊക്കെയും ബഹുമാനിച്ചു.
16 യഹോവ യോശുവയോടുസാക്ഷ്യപെട്ടകം ചുമക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു യോര്‍ദ്ദാനില്‍നിന്നു കയറുവാന്‍ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
17 അങ്ങനെ യോശുവ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു യോര്‍ദ്ദാനില്‍നിന്നു കയറുവാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചു.
18 യഹോവയുടെ സാക്ഷ്യപെട്ടകം ചുമക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്‍നിന്നു കയറി; പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ ഉള്ളങ്കാല്‍ കരെക്കു പൊക്കിവെച്ച ഉടനെ യോര്‍ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം വീണ്ടും അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തീരം കവിഞ്ഞു ഒഴുകി.
19 ഒന്നാം മാസം പത്താം തിയ്യതി ജനം യോര്‍ദ്ദാനില്‍നിന്നു കയറി യെരീഹോവിന്റെ കിഴക്കെ അതിരിലുള്ള ഗില്ഗാലില്‍ പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി.
20 യോര്‍ദ്ദാനില്‍നിന്നു എടുത്ത പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു യോശുവ ഗില്ഗാലില്‍ നാട്ടി,
21 യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍; ഈ കല്ലു എന്തു എന്നു വരുങ്കാലത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്‍ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍
22 യിസ്രായേല്‍ ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തുകൂടി ഈ യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ കടന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളോടു പറയേണം.
23 ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും യഹോവയുടെ കൈ ശക്തിയുള്ളതെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ എന്നേക്കും ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു
24 ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഇക്കരെ കടപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ ചെങ്കടല്‍ വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇക്കരെ കടപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ യോര്‍ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

4 Then Joshua H3091 called H7121 H413 the twelve H8147 H6240 men, H376 whom H834 he had prepared H3559 of the children H4480 H1121 of Israel, H3478 out of every tribe a man H376 H259 H376 H259 H4480 H7626 :

7 Then ye shall answer H559 them, That H834 the waters H4325 of Jordan H3383 were cut off H3772 before H4480 H6440 the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD; H3068 when it passed over H5674 Jordan, H3383 the waters H4325 of Jordan H3383 were cut off: H3772 and these H428 stones H68 shall be H1961 for a memorial H2146 unto the children H1121 of Israel H3478 forever H5704 H5769 .
8 And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 did H6213 so H3651 as H834 Joshua H3091 commanded, H6680 and took up H5375 twelve H8147 H6240 stones H68 out of the midst H4480 H8432 of Jordan, H3383 as H834 the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 unto H413 Joshua, H3091 according to the number H4557 of the tribes H7626 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and carried them over H5674 with H5973 them unto H413 the place where they lodged, H4411 and laid them down H5117 there. 9 And Joshua H3091 set up H6965 twelve H8147 H6240 stones H68 in the midst H8432 of Jordan, H3383 in the place H8478 where the feet H7272 of the priests H3548 which bore H5375 the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 stood: H4673 and they are H1961 there H8033 unto H5704 this H2088 day. H3117
10 For the priests H3548 which bore H5375 the ark H727 stood H5975 in the midst H8432 of Jordan, H3383 until H5704 every thing H3605 H1697 was finished H8552 that H834 the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 H853 Joshua H3091 to speak H1696 unto H413 the people, H5971 according to all H3605 that H834 Moses H4872 commanded H6680 H853 Joshua: H3091 and the people H5971 hasted H4116 and passed over. 11 And it came to pass, H1961 when H834 all H3605 the people H5971 were clean H8552 passed over, H5674 that the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 passed over, H5674 and the priests, H3548 in the presence H6440 of the people. H5971
12 And the children H1121 of Reuben, H7205 and the children H1121 of Gad, H1410 and half H2677 the tribe H7626 of Manasseh, H4519 passed over H5674 armed H2571 before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 as H834 Moses H4872 spoke H1696 unto H413 them:

18 And it came to pass, H1961 when the priests H3548 that bore H5375 the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 were come up H5927 out of the midst H4480 H8432 of Jordan, H3383 and the soles H3709 of the priests' H3548 feet H7272 were lifted up H5423 unto H413 the dry land, H2724 that the waters H4325 of Jordan H3383 returned H7725 unto their place, H4725 and flowed H1980 over H5921 all H3605 his banks, H1415 as H8543 they did before. 19 And the people H5971 came up H5927 out of H4480 Jordan H3383 on the tenth H6218 day of the first H7223 month, H2320 and encamped H2583 in Gilgal, H1537 in the east H4217 border H7097 of Jericho. H3405
20 And those H428 twelve H8147 H6240 stones, H68 which H834 they took H3947 out of H4480 Jordan, H3383 did Joshua H3091 pitch H6965 in Gilgal. H1537
21 And he spoke H559 unto H413 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 saying, H559 When H834 your children H1121 shall ask H7592 H853 their fathers H1 in time to come, H4279 saying, H559 What H4100 mean these H428 stones H68 ?
22 Then ye shall let H853 your children H1121 know, H3045 saying, H559 Israel H3478 came over H5674 H853 this H2088 Jordan H3383 on dry land. H3004
23 For H834 the LORD H3068 your God H430 dried up H3001 H853 the waters H4325 of Jordan H3383 from before H4480 H6440 you, until H5704 ye were passed over, H5674 as H834 the LORD H3068 your God H430 did H6213 to the Red H5488 sea, H3220 which H834 he dried up H3001 from before H4480 H6440 us, until H5704 we were gone over: H5674
24 That H4616 all H3605 the people H5971 of the earth H776 might know H3045 H853 the hand H3027 of the LORD, H3068 that H3588 it H1931 is mighty: H2389 that H4616 ye might fear H3372 H853 the LORD H3068 your God H430 forever H3605 H3117 .
