2 യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുഞാന്‍ യെരീഹോവിനെയും അതിന്റെ രാജാവിനെയും യുദ്ധവീരന്മാരെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3 നിങ്ങളില്‍ യോദ്ധാക്കളായ എല്ലാവരും ഒരുവട്ടം പട്ടണത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ ആറു ദിവസം ചെയ്യേണം.

4 ഏഴു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൊമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഏഴു കാഹളം പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടക്കേണം; ഏഴാം ദിവസം ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം പട്ടണത്തെ ചുറ്റുകയും പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ കാഹളം ഊതുകയും വേണം.

5 അവര്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൊമ്പു നീട്ടിയൂതുകയും നിങ്ങള്‍ കാഹളനാദം കേള്‍ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ ജനമൊക്കെയും ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ ആര്‍പ്പിടേണം; അപ്പോള്‍ പട്ടണമതില്‍ വീഴും; ജനം ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ നേരെ കയറുകയും വേണം.

6 നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവ പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുനിയമപെട്ടകം എടുപ്പിന്‍ ; ഏഴു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു മുമ്പില്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൊമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഏഴു കാഹളം പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നടക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7 ജനത്തോടു അവന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ ചെന്നു പട്ടണത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടപ്പിന്‍ ; ആയുധപാണികള്‍ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8 യോശുവ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞുതീര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൊമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഏഴു കാഹളം പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഏഴു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടന്നു കാഹളം ഊതി; യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപ്പെട്ടകം അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.

9 ആയുധപാണികള്‍ കാഹളം ഊതുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ള കൂട്ടം പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ കാഹളം ഊതിക്കൊണ്ടു നടന്നു.

10 യോശുവ ജനത്തോടുആര്‍പ്പിടുവിന്‍ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന നാള്‍വരെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ആര്‍പ്പിടരുതു; ഒച്ചകേള്‍പ്പിക്കരുതു; വായില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു വാക്കും പുറപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു; അതിന്റെശേഷം ആര്‍പ്പിടാം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

11 അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം പട്ടണത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടന്നു; പിന്നെ അവര്‍ പാളയത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു പാളയത്തില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തു.

12 യോശുവ അതികാലത്തേ എഴുന്നേറ്റു; പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം എടുത്തു.

13 ഏഴു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൊമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഏഴു കാഹളം പിടിച്ചു കാഹളം ഊതിക്കൊണ്ടു നടന്നു; ആയുധപാണികള്‍ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ള കൂട്ടം യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നടന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ കാഹളം ഊതിക്കൊണ്ടു നടന്നു.

14 രണ്ടാം ദിവസം അവര്‍ പട്ടണത്തെ ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം ചുറ്റീട്ടു പാളയത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ ആറു ദിവസം ചെയ്തു;

15 ഏഴാം ദിവസമോ അവര്‍ അതികാലത്തു അരുണോദയത്തിങ്കല്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണത്തെ ആ വിധത്തില്‍ തന്നേ ഏഴുപ്രവാശ്യം ചുറ്റി; അന്നുമാത്രം അവര്‍ പട്ടണത്തെ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം ചുറ്റി.

16 ഏഴാംപ്രാവശ്യം പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ കാഹളം ഊതിയപ്പോള്‍ യോശുവ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്‍ആര്‍പ്പിടുവിന്‍ ; യഹോവ പട്ടണം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

17 ഈ പട്ടണവും അതിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു ശപഥാര്‍പ്പിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും രാഹാബ് എന്ന വേശ്യ നാം അയച്ച ദൂതന്മാരെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചതിനാല്‍ അവളും അവളോടുകൂടെ വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരും ജീവനോടിരിക്കട്ടെ.

18 എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ ശപഥംചെയ്തിരിക്കെ ശപഥാര്‍പ്പിതത്തില്‍ വല്ലതും എടുത്തിട്ടു യിസ്രായേല്‍പാളയത്തിന്നു ശാപവും അനര്‍ത്ഥവും വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശപഥാര്‍പ്പിതമായ വസ്തുവൊന്നും തൊടാതിരിപ്പാന്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .

19 വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഒക്കെയും ചെമ്പും ഇരിമ്പുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള പാത്രങ്ങളും യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധം; അവ യഹോവയുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില്‍ ചേരേണം.

20 അനന്തരം ജനം ആര്‍പ്പിടുകയും പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ കാഹളം ഊതുകയും ചെയ്തു; ജനം കാഹളനാദംകേട്ടു അത്യുച്ചത്തില്‍ ആര്‍പ്പിട്ടപ്പോള്‍ മതില്‍ വീണു; ജനം ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ നേരെ മുമ്പോട്ടു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു കടന്നു പട്ടണം പിടിച്ചു.

21 പുരുഷന്‍ , സ്ത്രീ, ബാലന്‍ , വൃദ്ധന്‍ , ആടു, മാടു, കഴുത എന്നിങ്ങനെ പട്ടണത്തിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും അവര്‍ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല്‍ അശേഷം സംഹരിച്ചു.

22 എന്നാല്‍ രാജ്യത്തെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ രണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരോടു യോശുവവേശ്യയുടെ വീട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു ആ സ്ത്രീയെയും അവള്‍ക്കുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നിങ്ങള്‍ അവളോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 അങ്ങനെ ഒറ്റുകാരായിരുന്ന യൌവനക്കാര്‍ ചെന്നു രാഹാബിനെയും അവളുടെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അവള്‍ക്കുള്ള സകലത്തെയും പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടു വന്നു; അവളുടെ എല്ലാ ചാര്‍ച്ചക്കാരെയും പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു യിസ്രായേല്‍പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു പാര്‍പ്പിച്ചു.

24 പിന്നെ അവര്‍ പട്ടണവും അതിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല്‍ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ചെമ്പുകൊണ്ടും ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുമുള്ള പാത്രങ്ങളും അവര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില്‍വെച്ചു.

25 യെരീഹോവിനെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാന്‍ അയച്ച ദൂതന്മാരെ രാഹാബ് എന്ന വേശ്യ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു യോശുവ അവളെയും അവളുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും അവള്‍ക്കുള്ള സകലത്തെയും ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചു; അവള്‍ ഇന്നുവരെയും യിസ്രായേലില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.

26 അക്കാലത്തു യോശുവ ശപഥം ചെയ്തുഈ യെരീഹോപട്ടണത്തെ പണിയുവാന്‍ തുനിയുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്‍ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ശപീക്കപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ ; അവന്‍ അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനമിടുമ്പോള്‍ അവന്റെ മൂത്തമകന്‍ നഷ്ടമാകും; അതിന്റെ കതകു തൊടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഇളയമകനും നഷ്ടമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27 അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ യോശുവയോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ കീര്‍ത്തി ദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും പരന്നു.

9 And the armed men ^H2502 went ^H1980 before ^H6440 the priests ^H3548 that blew ^H8628 with the trumpets, ^H7782 and the rearward ^H622 came ^H1980 after ^H310 the ark, ^H727 the priests going on, ^H1980 and blowing ^H8628 with the trumpets. ^H7782

23 And the young men ^H5288 that were spies ^H7270 went in, ^H935 and brought out ^H3318 ^H853 Rahab, ^H7343 and her father, ^H1 and her mother, ^H517 and her brethren, ^H251 and all ^H3605 that ^H834 she had ; and they brought out ^H3318 all ^H3605 her kindred, ^H4940 and left ^H5117 them without ^H4480 ^H2351 the camp ^H4264 of Israel. ^H3478

26 And Joshua ^H3091 adjured ^H7650 them at that ^H1931 time, ^H6256 saying, ^H559 Cursed ^H779 be the man ^H376 before ^H6440 the LORD, ^H3068 that ^H834 riseth up ^H6965 and buildeth ^H1129 ^H853 this ^H2063 city ^H5892 ^H853 Jericho: ^H3405 he shall lay the foundation ^H3245 thereof in his firstborn, ^H1060 and in his youngest ^H6810 son shall he set up ^H5324 the gates ^H1817 of it.

27 So the LORD ^H3068 was ^H1961 with ^H854 Joshua; ^H3091 and his fame ^H8089 was ^H1961 noised throughout all ^H3605 the country. ^H776
