1 ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ പറഞ്ഞു തീര്‍ന്നിട്ടു യേശു ഗലീല വിട്ടു,

2 യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരോളം ചെന്നു, വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന്‍ ചെന്നുഅവന്‍ അവിടെവെച്ചു അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

3 പരീശന്മാര്‍ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നുഏതു കാരണം ചൊല്ലിയും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുചോദിച്ചു.

4 അതിന്നു അവന്‍ “സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവന്‍ ആദിയില്‍ അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു എന്നും

5 അതു നിമിത്തം മനുഷ്യന്‍ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായി തീരും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നും നിങ്ങള്‍ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

6 അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര്‍ മേലാല്‍ രണ്ടല്ല, ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ; ആകയാല്‍ ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യന്‍ വേര്‍പിരിക്കരുതു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7 അവര്‍ അവനോടുഎന്നാല്‍ ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുത്തിട്ടു അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

8 അവന്‍ അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തമത്രെ ഭാര്യമാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ മോശെ അനുവദിച്ചതു; ആദിയില്‍ അങ്ങനെയല്ലായിരുന്നു.

9 ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുപരസംഗം നിമിത്തമല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവന്‍ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

10 ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവനോടുസ്ത്രീയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അവസ്ഥ ഇങ്ങനെ എങ്കില്‍ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11 അവന്‍ അവരോടു“വരം ലഭിച്ചവര്‍ അല്ലാതെ എല്ലാവരും ഈ വചനം ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.

12 അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്‍ഭത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാരായി ജനിച്ചവര്‍ ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യര്‍ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരാക്കിയ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു; സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യംനിമിത്തം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരാക്കിയ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു; ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നവന്‍ ഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13 അവന്‍ കൈവെച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലര്‍ ശിശുക്കളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവരെ വിലക്കി.

14 യേശുവോ“ശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരുവാന്‍ വിടുവിന്‍ ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടേതല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15 അങ്ങനെ അവന്‍ അവരുടെ മേല്‍ കൈവെച്ചു പിന്നെ അവിടെ നിന്നു യാത്രയായി.

16 അനന്തരം ഒരുത്തന്‍ വന്നു അവനോടുഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ പ്രാപിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ എന്തു നന്മ ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

17 അവന്‍ “എന്നോടു നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നല്ലവന്‍ ഒരുത്തനേ ഉള്ളു. ജീവനില്‍ കടപ്പാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്ക” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

18 ഏവ എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യേശു“കുല ചെയ്യരുതു, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു;

19 അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക; കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നിവ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

20 യൌവനക്കാരന്‍ അവനോടുഇവ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന്‍ പ്രമാണിച്ചു പോരുന്നു; ഇനി കുറവുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21 യേശു അവനോടു“സല്‍ഗുണപൂര്‍ണ്ണന്‍ ആകുവാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ നീ ചെന്നു നിനക്കുള്ളതു വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാല്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും;” പിന്നെ വന്നു “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22 യൌവനക്കാരന്‍ വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവനാകയാല്‍ ഈ വചനം കേട്ടിട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

23 യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുധനവാന്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില്‍ കടക്കുന്നതു പ്രയാസം തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

24 ധനവാന്‍ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില്‍ കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള്‍ ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നും ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25 അതുകേട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഎന്നാല്‍ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26 യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി“അതു മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കും അസാദ്ധ്യം എങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27 പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള്‍ സകലവും വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു എന്തു കിട്ടും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28 യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“എന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങള്‍ പുനര്‍ജ്ജനനത്തില്‍ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങളും പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹാസനത്തില്‍ ഇരുന്നു യിസ്രായേല്‍ ഗോത്രം പന്ത്രണ്ടിന്നും ന്യായം വിധിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന്‍ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

29 എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം വീടുകളെയോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ സഹോദരികളെയോ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ മക്കളെയോ നിലങ്ങളെയോ വിട്ടു കളഞ്ഞവന്നു എല്ലാം നൂറുമടങ്ങു ലഭിക്കും; അവന്‍ നിത്യജീവനെയും അവകാശമാക്കും.

30 എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാര്‍ പലര്‍ പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാര്‍ മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും.”
