1 അവന്‍ മലയില്‍നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നാറെ വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നു.

2 അപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു കര്‍ത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3 അവന്‍ കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു“എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; നീ ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം മാറി അവന്‍ ശുദ്ധമായി.

4 യേശു അവനോടു“നോകൂ, ആരോടും പറയരുതു; അവര്‍ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി നീ ചെന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്നു കാണിച്ചു, മോശെ കല്പിച്ച വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5 അവന്‍ കഫര്‍ന്നഹൂമില്‍ എത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു ശതാധിപന്‍ വന്നു അവനോടു

6 കര്‍ത്താവേ, എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്‍ പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ചു കഠിനമായി വേദനപ്പെട്ടു വീട്ടില്‍ കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

7 അവന്‍ അവനോടു“ഞാന്‍ വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

8 അതിന്നു ശതാധിപന്‍ കര്‍ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ യോഗ്യനല്ല; ഒരു വാക്കുമാത്രം കല്പിച്ചാല്‍ എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

9 ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന്‍ കീഴുള്ള മനുഷ്യന്‍ ആകുന്നു. എന്റെ കീഴില്‍ പടയാളികള്‍ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന്‍ ഒരുവനോടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടുഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ അവന്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

10 അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യേശു അതിശയിച്ചു, പിന്‍ ചെല്ലുന്നവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“യിസ്രായേലില്‍കൂടെ ഇത്ര വലിയ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാന്‍ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

11 കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും അനേകര്‍ വന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും കൂടെ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില്‍ പന്തിക്കിരിക്കും.

12 രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേയോ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുളിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

13 പിന്നെ യേശു ശതാധിപനോടു“പോക, നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചതു പോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അ നാഴികയില്‍ തന്നേ അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

14 യേശു പത്രോസിന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ വന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

15 അവന്‍ അവളുടെ കൈതൊട്ടു പനി അവളെ വിട്ടു; അവള്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവര്‍ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു.

16 വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോള്‍ പല ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന്‍ വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കി സകലദീനക്കാര്‍ക്കും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തി.

17 അവന്‍ നമ്മുടെ ബലഹീനതകളെ എടുത്തു വ്യാധികളെ ചുമന്നു എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന്‍ തന്നേ.

18 എന്നാല്‍ യേശു തന്റെ ചുറ്റും വളരെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ അക്കരെക്കു പോകുവാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചു.

19 അന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നുഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പോയാലും ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20 യേശു അവനോടു“കുറുനരികള്‍ക്കു കുഴികളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകള്‍ക്കു കൂടുകളും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തലചായിപ്പാന്‍ ഇടം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

21 ശിഷ്യന്മാരില്‍ വേറൊരുത്തന്‍ അവനോടുകര്‍ത്താവേ, ഞാന്‍ മുമ്പെപോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

22 യേശു അവനോടു“നീ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; മരിച്ചവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 അവന്‍ ഒരു പടകില്‍ കയറിയപ്പോള്‍ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

24 പിന്നെ കടലില്‍ വലിയ ഔളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പടകു തിരകളാല്‍ മുങ്ങുമാറായി; അവനോ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

25 അവര്‍ അടുത്തുചെന്നുകര്‍ത്താവേ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേഞങ്ങള്‍ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണര്‍ത്തി.

26 അവന്‍ അവരോടു“അല്പവിശ്വാസികളെ, നിങ്ങള്‍ ഭീരുക്കള്‍ ആകുവാന്‍ എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും കടലിനെയും ശാസിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ വലിയ ശാന്തതയുണ്ടായി.

27 എന്നാറെ ആ മനുഷ്യര്‍ അതിശയിച്ചുഇവന്‍ എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന്‍ ? കാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28 അവന്‍ അക്കരെ ഗദരേനരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തിയാറെ രണ്ടു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര്‍ ശവക്കല്ലറകളില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്നു എതിരെ വന്നു; അവര്‍ അത്യുഗ്രന്മാര്‍ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആര്‍ക്കും ആ വഴി നടന്നുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

29 അവര്‍ നിലവിളിച്ചുദൈവപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില്‍ എന്തു? സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ ഇവിടെ വന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30 അവര്‍ക്കകലെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

31 ഭൂതങ്ങള്‍ അവനോടുഞങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

32 “പൊയ്ക്കൊള്‍വിന്‍ ” എന്നു അവന്‍ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര്‍ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; ആ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വെള്ളത്തില്‍ മുങ്ങി ചത്തു.

33 മേയക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഔടി പട്ടണത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു സകലവും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്ഥരുടെ വസ്തുതയും അറിയിച്ചു.

34 ഉടനെ പട്ടണം എല്ലാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്നു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടാറെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര്‍ വിട്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
