1 അനന്തരം ജനം യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നുമാറു പിറുപിറുത്തു; യഹോവ കേട്ടു അവന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തീ അവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ കത്തി പാളയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റങ്ങളിലുള്ളവരെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

2 ജനം മോശെയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; മോശെ യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചുഅപ്പോള്‍ തീ കെട്ടുപോയി.

3 യഹോവയുടെ തീ അവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ കത്തുകയാല്‍ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു തബേരാ എന്നു പേരായി.

4 പിന്നെ അവരുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള സമ്മിശ്രജാതി ദുരാഗ്രഹികളായി, യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളും വീണ്ടും കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടുഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തിന്മാന്‍ ഇറച്ചി ആര്‍ തരും?

5 ഞങ്ങള്‍ മിസ്രയീമില്‍ വെച്ചു വിലകൂടാതെ തിന്നിട്ടുള്ള മത്സ്യം, വെള്ളരിക്കാ, മത്തെങ്ങാ, ഉള്ളി, ചുവന്നുള്ളി, ചിറ്റുള്ളി എന്നിവ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഔര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.

6 ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണന്‍ പൊരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ മന്നാ അല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും കാണ്മാനില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7 മന്നയോ കൊത്തമ്പാലരിപോലെയും അതിന്റെ നിറം ഗുല്ഗുലുവിന്റേതുപോലെയും ആയിരുന്നു.

8 ജനം നടന്നു പെറുക്കി തിരികല്ലില്‍ പൊടിച്ചിട്ടോ ഉരലില്‍ ഇടിച്ചിട്ടോ കലത്തില്‍ പുഴുങ്ങി അപ്പം ഉണ്ടാക്കും. അതിന്റെ രുചി എണ്ണചേര്‍ത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ദോശപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

9 രാത്രി പാളയത്തില്‍ മഞ്ഞു പൊഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ മന്നയും പൊഴിയും.

10 ജനം കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ കൂടാരവാതില്‍ക്കല്‍വെച്ചു കരയുന്നതു മോശെ കേട്ടു; യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ഏറ്റവും ജ്വലിച്ചു; മോശെക്കും അനിഷ്ടമായി.

11 അപ്പോള്‍ മോശെ യഹോവയോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനീ അടിയനെ വലെച്ചതു എന്തു? നിനക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നാതെ ഈ സര്‍വ്വജനത്തിന്റെയും ഭാരം എന്റെമേല്‍ വെച്ചതെന്തു?

12 മുലകുടിക്കുന്ന കുഞ്ഞിനെ ഒരു ധാത്രി എടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാന്‍ അവരെ നീ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു എന്റെ മാറത്തെടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു എന്നോടു കല്പിപ്പാന്‍ ഈ ജനത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന്‍ ഗര്‍ഭംധരിച്ചുവോ? ഞാന്‍ അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചുവോ?

13 ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ഒക്കെയും കൊടുപ്പാന്‍ എനിക്കു എവിടെനിന്നു ഇറച്ചി കിട്ടും? അവര്‍ ഇതാഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തിന്മാന്‍ ഇറച്ചി തരിക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു കരയുന്നു.

14 ഏകനായി ഈ സര്‍വ്വജനത്തെയും വഹിപ്പാന്‍ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; അതു എനിക്കു അതിഭാരം ആകുന്നു.

15 ഇങ്ങനെ എന്നോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പക്ഷം ദയവിചാരിച്ചു എന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയേണമേ. എന്റെ അരിഷ്ടത ഞാന്‍ കാണരുതേ.

16 അപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുയിസ്രായേല്‍മൂപ്പന്മാരില്‍വെച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നു പ്രമാണികളും മേല്‍വിചാരകന്മാരും എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്ന എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരെ സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്നരികെ നിന്നോടു കൂടെ നില്‍ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരിക.

17 അവിടെ ഞാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യും; ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെമേലുള്ള ആത്മാവില്‍ കുറെ എടുത്തു അവരുടെ മേല്‍ പകരും. നീ ഏകനായി വഹിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്‍ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഭാരം വഹിക്കും.

18 എന്നാല്‍ ജനത്തോടു നീ പറയേണ്ടതുനാളത്തേക്കു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പിന്‍ ; എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇറച്ചി തിന്നും; ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തിന്മാന്‍ ഇറച്ചി ആര്‍ തരും? മിസ്രയീമില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു നന്നായിരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവ കേള്‍ക്കെ കരഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; ആകയാല്‍ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഇറച്ചി തരികയും നിങ്ങള്‍ തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.

19 ഒരു ദിവസമല്ല, രണ്ടു ദിവസമല്ല, അഞ്ചു ദിവസമല്ല, പത്തു ദിവസമല്ല, ഇരുപതു ദിവസവുമല്ല, ഒരു മാസം മുഴുവനും തന്നേ;

20 അതു നിങ്ങളുടെ മൂക്കില്‍കൂടി പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഔക്കാനം വരുവോളം നിങ്ങള്‍ തിന്നും; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഉള്ള യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിരസിക്കയുംഞങ്ങള്‍ മിസ്രയീമില്‍നിന്നു എന്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കരകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

21 അപ്പോള്‍ മോശെഎന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനം ആറുലക്ഷം കാലാള്‍ ഉണ്ടു; ഒരു മാസം മുഴുവന്‍ തിന്മാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും ഇറച്ചി കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22 അവര്‍ക്കും മതിയാകുംവണ്ണം ആടുകളെയും മാടുകളെയും അവര്‍ക്കുംവേണ്ടി അറുക്കുമോ? അവര്‍ക്കും മതിയാകുംവണ്ണം സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തെ ഒക്കെയും അവര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടി പിടിച്ചുകൂട്ടുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23 യഹോവ മോശെയോടുയഹോവയുടെ കൈ കുറുതായിപ്പോയോ? എന്റെ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നീ ഇപ്പോള്‍ കാണും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

24 അങ്ങനെ മോശെ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു, ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരില്‍ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൂട്ടി കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും നിറുത്തി.

25 എന്നാറെ യഹോവ ഒരു മേഘത്തില്‍ ഇറങ്ങി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന്മേലുള്ള ആത്മാവില്‍ കുറെ എടുത്തു മൂപ്പന്മാരായ ആ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ക്കും കൊടുത്തു; ആത്മാവു അവരുടെ മേല്‍ ആവസിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ പ്രവചിച്ചു; പിന്നെ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തില്ലതാനും.

26 എന്നാല്‍ ആ പുരഷന്മാരില്‍ രണ്ടു പേര്‍ പാളയത്തില്‍ തന്നേ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു; ഒരുത്തന്നു എല്‍ദാദ് എന്നും മറ്റവന്നു മേദാദ് എന്നും പേര്‍. ആത്മാവു അവരുടെമേലും ആവസിച്ചു; അവരും പേരെഴുതിയവരില്‍ ഉള്ളവര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും കൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നിരുന്നില്ല; അവര്‍ പാളയത്തില്‍ വെച്ചു പ്രവചിച്ചു.

27 അപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരന്‍ മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ഔടിച്ചെന്നുഎല്‍ദാദും മേദാദും പാളയത്തില്‍വെച്ചു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

28 എന്നാറെ നൂന്റെ മകനായി ബാല്യംമുതല്‍ മോശെയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനായിരുന്ന യോശുവഎന്റെ യജമാനനായ മോശെയേ, അവരെ വിരോധിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29 മോശെ അവനോടുഎന്നെ വിചാരിച്ചു നീ അസൂയപ്പെടുന്നുവോ? യഹോവയുടെ ജനം ഒക്കെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരാകയും യഹോവ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവരുടെമേല്‍ പകരുകയും ചെയ്തെങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30 പിന്നെ മോശെയും യിസ്രായേല്‍മൂപ്പന്മാരും പാളയത്തില്‍ വന്നു ചേര്‍ന്നു.

31 അനന്തരം യഹോവ അയച്ച ഒരു കാറ്റു ഊതി കടലില്‍നിന്നു കാടയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പാളയത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തു ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി ഇങ്ങോട്ടും ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങനെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും നിലത്തോടു ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു മുഴം അടുത്തു പറന്നുനിലക്കുമാറാക്കി.

32 ജനം എഴുന്നേറ്റു അന്നു പകല്‍ മുഴുവനും രാത്രി മുഴുവനും പിറ്റെന്നാള്‍ മുഴുവനും കാടയെ പിടിച്ചു കൂട്ടി; നന്നാ കുറെച്ചു പിടിച്ചവന്‍ പത്തു പറ പിടിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവര്‍ അവയെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും ചിക്കി.

33 എന്നാല്‍ ഇറച്ചി അവരുടെ പല്ലിന്നിടയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അതു ചവെച്ചിറക്കും മുമ്പെ തന്നേ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു, യഹോവ ജനത്തെ ഒരു മഹാബാധകൊണ്ടു സംഹരിച്ചു.

34 ദുരാഗ്രഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ അവിടെ കുഴിച്ചിട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു കിബ്രോത്ത്-ഹത്താവ എന്നു പേരായി.

35 കിബ്രോത്ത്-ഹത്താവ വിട്ടു ജനം ഹസേരോത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു ഹസേരോത്തില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തു.

1 And when the people ^H5971 complained, ^H596 it displeased ^H7451 ^H241 the LORD: ^H3068 and the LORD ^H3068 heard ^H8085 it ; and his anger ^H639 was kindled; ^H2734 and the fire ^H784 of the LORD ^H3068 burnt ^H1197 among them , and consumed ^H398 them that were in the uttermost parts ^H7097 of the camp. ^H4264

15 And if ^H518 thou ^H859 deal ^H6213 thus ^H3602 with me, kill ^H2026 me , I pray thee, ^H4994 out of hand, ^H2026 if ^H518 I have found ^H4672 favor ^H2580 in thy sight; ^H5869 and let me not ^H408 see ^H7200 my wretchedness. ^H7451

16 And the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 unto ^H413 Moses, ^H4872 Gather ^H622 unto me seventy ^H7657 men ^H376 of the elders ^H4480 ^H2205 of Israel, ^H3478 whom ^H834 thou knowest ^H3045 to be the elders ^H2205 of the people, ^H5971 and officers ^H7860 over them ; and bring ^H3947 them unto ^H413 the tabernacle ^H168 of the congregation, ^H4150 that they may stand ^H3320 there ^H8033 with ^H5973 thee.

17 And I will come down ^H3381 and talk ^H1696 with ^H5973 thee there: ^H8033 and I will take ^H680 of ^H4480 the spirit ^H7307 which ^H834 is upon ^H5921 thee , and will put ^H7760 it upon ^H5921 them ; and they shall bear ^H5375 the burden ^H4853 of the people ^H5971 with ^H854 thee , that thou ^H859 bear ^H5375 it not ^H3808 thyself alone. ^H905

18 And say ^H559 thou unto ^H413 the people, ^H5971 Sanctify yourselves ^H6942 against tomorrow, ^H4279 and ye shall eat ^H398 flesh: ^H1320 for ^H3588 ye have wept ^H1058 in the ears ^H241 of the LORD, ^H3068 saying, ^H559 Who ^H4310 shall give us flesh ^H1320 to eat ^H398 ? for ^H3588 it was well ^H2895 with us in Egypt: ^H4714 therefore the LORD ^H3068 will give ^H5414 you flesh, ^H1320 and ye shall eat. ^H398

20 But even ^H5704 a whole ^H3117 month, ^H2320 until ^H5704 ^H834 it come out ^H3318 at your nostrils ^H4480 ^H639 , and it be ^H1961 loathsome ^H2214 unto you: because ^H3282 that ^H3588 ye have despised ^H3988 ^H853 the LORD ^H3068 which ^H834 is among ^H7130 you , and have wept ^H1058 before ^H6440 him, saying, ^H559 Why ^H4100 ^H2088 came we forth ^H3318 out of Egypt ^H4480 ^H4714 ?

21 And Moses ^H4872 said, ^H559 The people, ^H5971 among ^H7130 whom ^H834 I ^H595 am , are six ^H8337 hundred ^H3967 thousand ^H505 footmen; ^H7273 and thou ^H859 hast said, ^H559 I will give ^H5414 them flesh, ^H1320 that they may eat ^H398 a whole ^H3117 month. ^H2320

22 Shall the flocks ^H6629 and the herds ^H1241 be slain ^H7819 for them , to suffice ^H4672 them? or ^H518 ^H853 shall all ^H3605 the fish ^H1709 of the sea ^H3220 be gathered together ^H622 for them , to suffice ^H4672 them?

23 And the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 unto ^H413 Moses, ^H4872 Is the LORD's ^H3068 hand ^H3027 waxed short ^H7114 ? thou shalt see ^H7200 now ^H6258 whether my word ^H1697 shall come to pass ^H7136 unto thee or ^H518 not. ^H3808

24 And Moses ^H4872 went out, ^H3318 and told ^H1696 ^H413 the people ^H5971 ^H853 the words ^H1697 of the LORD, ^H3068 and gathered ^H622 the seventy ^H7657 men ^H376 of the elders ^H4480 ^H2205 of the people, ^H5971 and set ^H5975 them round about ^H5439 the tabernacle. ^H168

27 And there ran ^H7323 a young man, ^H5288 and told ^H5046 Moses, ^H4872 and said, ^H559 Eldad ^H419 and Medad ^H4312 do prophesy ^H5012 in the camp. ^H4264

28 And Joshua ^H3091 the son ^H1121 of Nun, ^H5126 the servant ^H8334 of Moses, ^H4872 one of his young men ^H4480 ^H979 , answered ^H6030 and said, ^H559 My lord ^H113 Moses, ^H4872 forbid ^H3607 them.

29 And Moses ^H4872 said ^H559 unto him, Enviest ^H7065 thou ^H859 for my sake? would God ^H4310 ^H5414 that all ^H3605 the LORD's ^H3068 people ^H5971 were prophets, ^H5030 and that ^H3588 the LORD ^H3068 would put ^H5414 ^H853 his spirit ^H7307 upon ^H5921 them!

30 And Moses ^H4872 got ^H622 him into ^H413 the camp, ^H4264 he ^H1931 and the elders ^H2205 of Israel. ^H3478
