1 അപ്പോള്‍ സഭയൊക്കെയും ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു, ജനം ആ രാത്രി മുഴുവനും കരഞ്ഞു.

2 യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ എല്ലാവരും മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുത്തു; സഭ ഒക്കെയും അവരോടുമിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു ഞങ്ങള്‍ മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍വെച്ചു ഞങ്ങള്‍ മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

3 വാളാല്‍ വീഴേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ ആ ദേശത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും മക്കളും കൊള്ളയായ്പോകുമല്ലോ; മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയല്ലയോ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു നല്ലതു? എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4 നാം ഒരു തലവനെ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോക എന്നും അവര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ തമ്മില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

5 അപ്പോള്‍ മോശെയും അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേല്‍സഭയുടെ സര്‍വ്വസംഘത്തിന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ കവിണ്ണുവീണു.

6 ദേശത്തെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയവരില്‍ നൂന്റെ മകന്‍ യോശുവയും യെഫുന്നയുടെ മകന്‍ കാലേബും വസ്ത്രം കീറി,

7 യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ സര്‍വ്വസഭയോടും പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍ഞങ്ങള്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ ദേശം എത്രയും നല്ല ദേശം ആകുന്നു.

8 യഹോവ നമ്മില്‍ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ അവന്‍ നമ്മെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ആ ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നമുക്കു അതു തരും.

9 യഹോവയോടു നിങ്ങള്‍ മത്സരിക്കമാത്രം അരുതു; ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; അവര്‍ നമുക്കു ഇരയാകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശരണം പോയ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നമ്മോടുകൂടെ യഹോവ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു.

10 എന്നാറെ അവരെ കല്ലെറിയേണം എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തില്‍ എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളും കാണ്‍കെ പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

11 യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഈ ജനം എത്രത്തോളം എന്നെ നിരസിക്കും? ഞാന്‍ അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടിട്ടും അവര്‍ എത്രത്തോളം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരിക്കും?

12 ഞാന്‍ അവരെ മഹാമാരിയാല്‍ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു സംഹരിച്ചുകളകയും നിന്നെ അവരെക്കാള്‍ വലിപ്പവും ബലവുമുള്ള ജാതിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

13 മോശെ യഹോവയോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നാല്‍ മിസ്രയീമ്യര്‍ അതു കേള്‍ക്കും; നീ ഈ ജനത്തെ അവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു നിന്റെ ശക്തിയാല്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോന്നുവല്ലോ.

14 അവര്‍ അതു ഈ ദേശനിവാസികളോടും പറയും; യഹോവയായ നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവര്‍ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയായ നിന്നെ ഇവര്‍ കണ്ണാലേ കാണുകയും നിന്റെ മേഘം ഇവര്‍ക്കും മീതെ നിലക്കുകയും പകല്‍ മേഘസ്തംഭത്തിലും രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭത്തിലും നീ ഇവര്‍ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

15 നീ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഈ ജനത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഒരു ഒറ്റമനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാല്‍ നിന്റെ കീര്‍ത്തി കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള്‍

16 ഈ ജനത്തോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു അവരെ കൊണ്ടു പോകുവാന്‍ യഹോവേക്കു കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍വെച്ചു കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറയും.

17 യഹോവ ദീര്‍ഘക്ഷമയും മഹാദയയും ഉള്ളവന്‍ ; അകൃത്യവും ലംഘനവും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ; കുറ്റക്കാരനെ വെറുതെ വിടാതെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറയോളം മക്കളുടെ മേല്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നവന്‍

18 എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ കര്‍ത്താവേ, ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിന്റെ ശക്തി വലുതായിരിക്കേണമേ.

19 നിന്റെ മഹാദയെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം മിസ്രയീംമുതല്‍ ഇവിടംവരെ ഈ ജനത്തോടു നീ ക്ഷമിച്ചുവന്നതുപോലെ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ.

20 അതിന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം ഞാന്‍ ക്ഷമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

21 എങ്കിലും എന്നാണ, ഭൂമിയെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കും.

22 എന്റെ തേജസ്സും മിസ്രയീമിലും മരുഭൂമിയിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്ത അടയാളങ്ങളും കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ എല്ലാവരും ഇപ്പോള്‍ പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കയും എന്റെ വാക്കു കൂട്ടാക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു

23 അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ഞാന്‍ സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശം അവര്‍ കാണ്‍കയില്ല; എന്നെ നിരസിച്ചവര്‍ ആരും അതു കാണ്‍കയില്ല.

24 എന്റെ ദാസനായ കാലേബോ, അവന്നു വേറൊരു സ്വഭാവമുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടും എന്നെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി അനുസരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും അവന്‍ പോയിരുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാന്‍ അവനെ എത്തിക്കും; അവന്റെ സന്തതി അതു കൈവശമാക്കും.

25 എന്നാല്‍ അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും താഴ്വരയില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള്‍ നാളെ ചെങ്കടലിങ്കലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവിന്‍ .

26 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

27 ഈ ദുഷ്ടസഭ എത്രത്തോളം എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുക്കും? യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു ഞാന്‍ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

28 അവരോടു പറവിന്‍ ഞാന്‍ കേള്‍ക്കെ നിങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ, എന്നാണ, ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യുമെന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

29 ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം വീഴും; യെഫുന്നയുടെ മകന്‍ കാലേബും നൂന്റെ മകന്‍ യോശുവയും ഒഴികെ ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല്‍ മേലോട്ടു എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി

30 എന്റെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുത്തവരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ ആരും ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ പാര്‍പ്പിക്കുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തു കടക്കയില്ല.

31 എന്നാല്‍ കൊള്ളയായ്പോകുമെന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെ ഞാന്‍ അതില്‍ കടക്കുമാറാക്കും; നിങ്ങള്‍ നിരസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശം അവര്‍ അറിയും.

32 നിങ്ങളോ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ വീഴും.

33 നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ ഒടുങ്ങുംവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്‍ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ഇടയരായി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാതിവ്രത്യഭംഗം വഹിക്കും;

34 ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ നാല്പതു ദിവസത്തിന്റെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം, ഒരു ദിവസത്തിന്നു ഒരു സംവത്സരം വീതം, നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്‍ വഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അകല്ച അറിയും.

35 എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടംകൂടിയ ഈ ദുഷ്ടസഭയോടു ഞാന്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുംഈ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ അവര്‍ ഒടുങ്ങും; ഇവിടെ അവര്‍ മരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയായ ഞാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

36 ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാന്‍ മോശെ അയച്ചവരും, മടങ്ങിവന്നു ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുര്‍വ്വര്‍ത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞു സഭ മുഴുവനും അവന്നു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുപ്പാന്‍ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയ വരും,

37 ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുര്‍വ്വര്‍ത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞവരുമായ പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഒരു ബാധകൊണ്ടു മരിച്ചു.

38 എന്നാല്‍ ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാന്‍ പോയ പുരുഷന്മാരില്‍ നൂന്റെ മകന്‍ യോശുവയും യെഫുന്നയുടെ പുത്രന്‍ കാലേബും മരിച്ചില്ല.

39 പിന്നെ മോശെ ഈ വാക്കുകള്‍ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളോടൊക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു; ജനം ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു.

40 പിറ്റേന്നു അവര്‍ അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റുഇതാ, യഹോവ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ചൊല്ലിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു ഞങ്ങള്‍ കയറിപ്പോകുന്നുഞങ്ങള്‍ പാപം ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മലമുകളില്‍ കയറി.

41 അപ്പോള്‍ മോശെനിങ്ങള്‍ എന്തിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നു? അതു സാദ്ധ്യമാകയില്ല.

42 ശത്രുക്കളാല്‍ തോല്‍ക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ കയറരുതു; യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇല്ല.

43 അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള്‍ വാളാല്‍ വീഴും; നിങ്ങള്‍ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടു പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

44 എന്നിട്ടും അവര്‍ ധാര്‍ഷ്ട്യം പൂണ്ടു മലമുകളില്‍ കയറി; യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകവും മോശെയും പാളയത്തില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടില്ലതാനും.

45 എന്നാറെ മലയില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്ന അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു ഹോര്‍മ്മാവരെ അവരെ ഛിന്നിച്ചു ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

30 Doubtless ^H518 ye ^H859 shall not come ^H935 into ^H413 the land, ^H776 concerning which ^H834 I swore ^H5375 ^H853 ^H3027 to make you dwell ^H7931 therein, save ^H3588 ^H518 Caleb ^H3612 the son ^H1121 of Jephunneh, ^H3312 and Joshua ^H3091 the son ^H1121 of Nun. ^H5126

44 But they presumed ^H6075 to go up ^H5927 unto ^H413 the hill ^H2022 top: ^H7218 nevertheless the ark ^H727 of the covenant ^H1285 of the LORD, ^H3068 and Moses, ^H4872 departed ^H4185 not ^H3808 out of ^H4480 ^H7130 the camp. ^H4264
