1 ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്‍ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്‍ പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര്‍ മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്‍ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.
3 അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന്‍ വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.
4 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.
5 ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.
6 തന്റെ വഴികളില്‍ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള്‍ പരമാര്‍ത്ഥതയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന്‍ ഉത്തമന്‍ .
7 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന്‍ ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്‍ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.
8 പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്‍ അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.
9 ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്‍ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല്‍ അവന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.
10 നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്‍മ്മാര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന്‍ താന്‍ കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില്‍ തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.
11 ധനവാന്‍ തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 നീതിമാന്മാര്‍ ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള്‍ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
13 തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.
14 എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്‍ ഭാഗ്യവാന്‍ ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ അകപ്പെടും.
15 അഗതികളില്‍ കര്‍ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന്‍ ഗര്‍ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന്‍ .
16 ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്‍ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
17 രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന്‍ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.
18 നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില്‍ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.
19 നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന്‍ ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.
20 വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന്‍ അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്‍ണ്ണന്‍ ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.
21 മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന്‍ അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.
22 കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന്‍ ധനവാനാകുവാന്‍ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന്‍ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
23 ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള്‍ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.
24 അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവന്‍ നാശകന്റെ സഖി.
25 അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന്‍ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.
26 സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന്‍ മൂഢന്‍ ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.
27 ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല്‍ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.
28 ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നുവരുമ്പോള്‍ ആളുകള്‍ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര്‍ നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

7 Whoso keepeth H5341 the law H8451 is a wise H995 son: H1121 but he that is a companion H7462 of riotous H2151 men shameth H3637 his father. H1
