1 ഞാന്‍ ക്രിസ്തുവില്‍ സത്യം പറയുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ പറയുന്നതു ഭോഷ്കല്ല.

2 എനിക്കു വലിയ ദുഃഖവും ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ ഇടവിടാതെ നോവും ഉണ്ടു എന്നു എന്റെ മനസ്സാക്ഷി എനിക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില്‍ സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

3 ജഡപ്രകാരം എന്റെ ചാര്‍ച്ചക്കാരായ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടി ഞാന്‍ തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു വേറുവിട്ടു ശാപഗ്രസ്തനാവാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

4 അവര്‍ യിസ്രായേല്യര്‍; പുത്രത്വവും തേജസ്സും നിയമങ്ങളും ന്യായപ്രമാണവും ആരാധനയും വാഗ്ദത്തങ്ങളും അവര്‍ക്കുംള്ളവ;

5 പിതാക്കന്മാരും അവര്‍ക്കുംള്ളവര്‍ തന്നേ; ജഡപ്രകാരം ക്രിസ്തുവും അവരില്‍നിന്നല്ലോ ഉത്ഭവിച്ചതു; അവന്‍ സര്‍വ്വത്തിന്നും മീതെ ദൈവമായി എന്നെന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ .

6 ആമേന്‍ . ദൈവവചനം വൃഥാവായിപ്പോയി എന്നല്ല; യിസ്രായേലില്‍നിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിച്ചവര്‍ എല്ലാം യിസ്രായേല്യര്‍ എന്നും

7 അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സന്തതിയാകയാല്‍ എല്ലാവരും മക്കള്‍ എന്നു വരികയില്ല; “യിസ്ഹാക്കില്‍നിന്നു ജനിക്കുന്നവര്‍ നിന്റെ സന്തതി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നേയുള്ളു.

8 അതിന്റെ അര്‍ത്ഥമോജഡപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ച മക്കള്‍ അല്ല ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കള്‍; വാഗ്ദത്തപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ച മക്കളെയത്രേ സന്തതി എന്നു എണ്ണുന്നു.

9 “ഈ സമയത്തേക്കു ഞാന്‍ വരും; അപ്പോള്‍ സാറെക്കു ഒരു മകന്‍ ഉണ്ടാകും” എന്നല്ലോ വാഗ്ദത്തവചനം.

10 അത്രയുമല്ല, റിബെക്കയും നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക്‍ എന്ന ഏകനാല്‍ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു,

11 കുട്ടികള ജനിക്കയോ ഗുണമാകട്ടെ ദോഷമാകട്ടെ ഒന്നും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുംമുമ്പേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന്‍ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ദൈവനിര്‍ണ്ണയം പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ നിമിത്തമല്ല വിളിച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിമിത്തം തന്നേ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു

12 “മൂത്തവന്‍ ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും” എന്നു അവളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

13 “ഞാന്‍ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു ഏശാവിനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14 ആകയാല്‍ നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കല്‍ അനീതി ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരു നാളും ഇല്ല.

15 “എനിക്കു കരുണ തോന്നേണം എന്നുള്ളവനോടു കരുണ തോന്നുകയും എനിക്കു കനിവു തോന്നേണം എന്നുള്ളവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു അവന്‍ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

16 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനാലുമല്ല, ഔടുന്നവനാലുമല്ല, കരുണ തോന്നുന്ന ദൈവത്താലത്രേ സകലവും സാധിക്കുന്നതു.

17 “ഇതിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ നിര്‍ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു; നിന്നില്‍ എന്റെ ശക്തി കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ നാമം സര്‍വ്വഭൂമിയിലും പ്രസ്താവിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ” എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തില്‍ ഫറവോനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18 അങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവനോടു അവന്നു കരുണ തോന്നുന്നു; തനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവരെ അവന്‍ കഠിനനാക്കുന്നു.

19 ആകയാല്‍ അവന്‍ പിന്നെ കുറ്റം പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ആര്‍ അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്തോടു എതിര്‍ത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു നീ എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും.

20 അയ്യോ, മനുഷ്യാ, ദൈവത്തൊടു പ്രത്യുത്തരം പറയുന്ന നീ ആര്‍? മനഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു മനഞ്ഞവനോടുനീ എന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ ചമെച്ചതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുമോ? അല്ല, കുശവന്നു അതേ പിണ്ഡത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു പാത്രം മാനത്തിന്നും മറ്റൊരു പാത്രം അപമാനത്തിന്നും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന്‍ മണ്ണിന്മേല്‍ അധികാരം ഇല്ലയോ?

21 എന്നാല്‍ ദൈവം തന്റെ കോപം കാണിപ്പാനും ശക്തി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാനും യെഹൂദന്മാരില്‍നിന്നു മാത്രമല്ല

22 ജാതികളില്‍നിന്നും വിളിച്ചു തേജസ്സിന്നായി മുന്നൊരുക്കിയ കരുണാപാത്രങ്ങളായ നമ്മില്‍

23 തന്റെ തേജസ്സിന്റെ ധനം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാനും ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു നാശയോഗ്യമായ കോപപാത്രങ്ങളെ വളരെ ദീര്‍ഘക്ഷമയോടെ സഹിച്ചു എങ്കില്‍ എന്തു?

24 “എന്റെ ജനമല്ലാത്തവരെ എന്റെ ജനം എന്നും പ്രിയയല്ലാത്തവളെ പ്രിയ എന്നും ഞാന്‍ വിളിക്കും..

25 നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്റെ ജനമല്ല എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞ ഇടത്തില്‍ അവര്‍ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും”

26 എന്നു ഹോശേയാപുസ്തകത്തിലും അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ. യെശയ്യാവോ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു

27 “യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം കടല്‍ക്കരയിലെ മണല്‍പോലെ ആയിരുന്നാലും ശേഷിപ്പത്രേ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടൂ. കര്‍ത്താവു ഭൂമിയില്‍ തന്റെ വചനം നിവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു ക്ഷണത്തില്‍ തീര്‍ക്കും” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു.

28 “സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ കര്‍ത്താവു നമുക്കു സന്തതിയെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ലെങ്കില്‍ നാം സൊദോമെപ്പോലെ ആകുമായിരുന്നു, ഗൊമോറെക്കു സദൃശമാകുമായിരുന്നു” എന്നു യെശയ്യാ മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

29 ആകയാല്‍ നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? നീതിയെ പിന്തുടരാത്ത ജാതികള്‍ നീതിപ്രാപിച്ചു, വിശ്വാസത്താലുള്ള നീതി തന്നേ.

30 നീതിയുടെ പ്രമാണം പിന്‍ തുടര്‍ന്ന യിസ്രായേലോ ആ പ്രമാണത്തിങ്കല്‍ എത്തിയില്ല.

31 അതെന്തുകൊണ്ടു? വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല, പ്രവൃത്തികളാല്‍ അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ അവര്‍ ഇടര്‍ച്ചക്കല്ലിന്മേല്‍ തട്ടി ഇടറി

32 “ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ സീയോനില്‍ ഇടര്‍ച്ചക്കല്ലും തടങ്ങല്‍ പാറയും വെക്കുന്നു; അവനില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
