1 Corinthians 3:5 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 And I, brethren, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly -- as to babes in Christ;
2 with milk I fed you, and not with meat, for ye were not yet able, but not even yet are ye now able,
3 for yet ye are fleshly, for where there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not fleshly, and in the manner of men do walk?
4 for when one may say, `I, indeed, am of Paul;` and another, `I -- of Apollos;` are ye not fleshly?
5 Who, then, is Paul, and who Apollos, but ministrants through whom ye did believe, and to each as the Lord gave?
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was giving growth;
7 so that neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is watering, but He who is giving growth -- God;
8 and he who is planting and he who is watering are one, and each his own reward shall receive, according to his own labour,
9 for of God we are fellow-workmen; God's tillage, God's building ye are.
10 According to the grace of God that was given to me, as a wise master-builder, a foundation I have laid, and another doth build on it,
11 for other foundation no one is able to lay except that which is laid, which is Jesus the Christ;
12 and if any one doth build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw --
13 of each the work shall become manifest, for the day shall declare it, because in fire it is revealed, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire shall prove;
14 if of any one the work doth remain that he built on it, a wage he shall receive;
15 if of any the work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; and himself shall be saved, but so as through fire.
16 have ye not known that ye are a sanctuary of God, and the Spirit of God doth dwell in you?
17 if any one the sanctuary of God doth waste, him shall God waste; for the sanctuary of God is holy, the which ye are.
18 Let no one deceive himself; if any one doth seem to be wise among you in this age -- let him become a fool, that he may become wise,
19 for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it hath been written, `Who is taking the wise in their craftiness;`
20 and again, `The Lord doth know the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain.`
21 So then, let no one glory in men, for all things are yours,
22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things about to be -- all are yours,
23 and ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

2 I have fed G4222 V-AAI-1S you G5209 P-2AP with milk G1051 N-ASN , and G2532 CONJ not G3756 PRT-N with meat G1033 N-ASN : for G1063 CONJ hitherto ye were not able G3768 ADV to bear it G235 CONJ , neither G3777 CONJ yet G2089 ADV now G3568 ADV are ye able G1410 V-INI-2P .
3 For G1063 CONJ ye are G2075 V-PXI-2P yet G2089 ADV carnal G4559 A-NPM : for G1063 CONJ whereas G3699 ADV there is among G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP envying G2205 N-NSM , and G2532 CONJ strife G2054 N-NSF , and G2532 CONJ divisions G1370 N-NPF , are G2075 V-PXI-2P ye not G3780 PRT-I carnal G4559 A-NPM , and G2532 CONJ walk G4043 V-PAI-2P as G2596 PREP men G444 N-ASM ?
4 For G1063 CONJ while G3752 CONJ one G5100 X-NSM saith G3004 V-PAS-3S , I G1473 P-1NS am G1510 V-PXI-1S of Paul G3972 N-GSM ; and G1161 CONJ another G2087 A-NSM , I G1473 P-1NS am of Apollos G625 N-GSM ; are G2075 V-PXI-2P ye not G3780 PRT-I carnal G4559 A-NPM ?
5 Who G5101 I-NSM then G3767 CONJ is G2076 V-PXI-3S Paul G3972 N-NSM , and G1161 CONJ who G5101 I-NSM is Apollos G625 N-NSM , but G235 CONJ ministers G1249 N-NPM by G1223 PREP whom G3739 R-GPM ye believed G4100 V-AAI-2P , even G2532 CONJ as G5613 ADV the G3588 T-NSM Lord G2962 N-NSM gave G1325 V-AAI-3S to every man G1538 A-DSM ?
6 I G1473 P-1NS have planted G5452 V-AAI-1S , Apollos G625 N-NSM watered G4222 V-AAI-3S ; but G235 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM gave the increase G837 V-IAI-3S .
7 So then G5620 CONJ neither G3777 CONJ is G2076 V-PXI-3S he that planteth G5452 V-PAP-NSM any thing G5100 X-NSN , neither G3777 CONJ he that watereth G4222 V-PAP-NSM ; but G235 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM that giveth the increase G837 V-PAP-NSM .
8 Now G1161 CONJ he that planteth G5452 V-PAP-NSM and G2532 CONJ he that watereth G4222 V-PAP-NSM are G1526 V-PXI-3P one G1520 A-NSN : and G1161 CONJ every man G1538 A-NSM shall receive G2983 V-FDI-3S his own G2398 A-ASM reward G3408 N-ASM according G2596 PREP to his own G2398 A-ASM labor G2873 N-ASM .
9 For G1063 CONJ we are G2070 V-PXI-1P laborers together with G4904 A-NPM God G2316 N-GSM : ye are G2075 V-PXI-2P God G2316 N-GSM \'s husbandry G1091 N-NSN , ye are God G2316 N-GSM \'s building G3619 N-NSF .
10 According G2596 PREP to the G3588 T-ASF grace G5485 N-ASF of G3588 T-ASF God G2316 N-GSM which is given G1325 V-APP-ASF unto me G3427 P-1DS , as G5613 ADV a wise G4680 A-NSM masterbuilder G753 N-NSM , I have laid G5087 V-RAI-1S the foundation G2310 N-ASM , and G1161 CONJ another G243 A-NSM buildeth thereon G2026 V-PAI-3S . But G1161 CONJ let every man G1538 A-NSM take heed G991 V-PAM-3S how G4459 ADV he buildeth thereupon G2026 V-PAI-3S .
11 For G1063 CONJ other G243 A-ASM foundation G2310 N-ASM can G1410 V-PNI-3S no man G3762 A-NSM lay G5087 V-2AAN than G3844 PREP that is laid G2749 V-PNP-ASM , which G3739 R-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S Jesus G2424 N-NSM Christ G5547 N-NSM .
12 Now G1161 CONJ if any man G1536 build G2026 V-PAI-3S upon G1909 PREP this G3588 T-ASM foundation G2310 N-ASM gold G5557 N-ASM , silver G696 N-ASM , precious G5093 A-APM stones G3037 N-APM , wood G3586 N-APN , hay G5528 N-ASM , stubble G2562 N-ASF ;
13 Every man G1538 A-GMS \'s work G2041 N-NSN shall be made G1096 V-FDI-3S manifest G5318 A-NSN : for G1063 CONJ the G3588 T-NSN day G2250 N-NSF shall declare G1213 V-FAI-3S it , because G3754 CONJ it shall be revealed G601 V-PPI-3S by G1722 PREP fire G4442 N-DSN ; and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSN fire G4442 N-NSN shall try G1381 V-FAI-3S every man G1538 A-GSM \'s work G2041 N-NSN of what sort G3697 A-NSN it is G2076 V-PXI-3S .
14 If any man G1536 \'s work G2041 N-NSN abide G3306 V-FAI-3S which G3739 R-ASN he hath built thereupon G2026 V-AAI-3S , he shall receive G2983 V-FDI-3S a reward G3408 N-ASM .
15 If any man G1536 \'s work G2041 N-NSN shall be burned G2618 V-2FPI-3S , he shall suffer loss G2210 V-FPI-3S : but G1161 CONJ he G848 himself shall be saved G4982 V-FPI-3S ; yet G1161 CONJ so G3779 ADV as G5613 ADV by G1223 PREP fire G4442 N-GSN .
16 Know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ ye are G2075 V-PXI-2P the temple G3485 N-NSM of God G2316 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ that G3588 T-NSN the G3588 T-NSN Spirit G4151 N-NSN of God G2316 N-GSM dwelleth G3611 V-PAI-3S in G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP ?
17 If any man G1536 defile G5351 V-PAI-3S the G3588 T-ASM temple G3485 N-ASM of God G2316 N-GSM , him G3588 T-NSM shall God G2316 N-NSM destroy G5351 V-FAI-3S ; for G1063 CONJ the G3588 T-GSM temple G3485 N-NSM of God G2316 N-GSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S holy G40 A-NSM , which G3748 R-NPM temple ye G5210 P-2NP are G2075 V-PXI-2P .
18 Let no man G3367 A-NSM deceive G1818 V-PAM-3S himself G1438 F-3ASM . If any man G1536 among G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP seemeth G1380 V-PAI-3S to be G1511 V-PXN wise G4680 A-NSM in G1722 PREP this G3588 T-DSM world G165 N-DSM , let him become G1096 V-2ADM-3S a fool G3474 A-NSM , that G2443 CONJ he may be G1096 V-2ADS-3S wise G4680 A-NSM .
19 For G1063 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF wisdom G4678 N-NSF of G3588 T-GSM this G3588 T-GSM world G2889 N-GSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S foolishness G3472 N-NSF with G3844 PREP God G2316 N-DSM . For G1063 CONJ it is written G1125 V-RPI-3S , He taketh G1405 V-PNP-NSM the G3588 T-APM wise G4680 A-APM in G1722 PREP their G3588 T-DSF own G848 craftiness G3834 N-DSF .
20 And G2532 CONJ again G3825 ADV , The Lord G2962 N-NSM knoweth G1097 V-PAI-3S the G3588 T-APM thoughts G1261 N-APM of G3588 T-GPM the G3588 T-GPM wise G4680 A-GPM , that G3754 CONJ they are G1526 V-PXI-3P vain G3152 A-NPM .
21 Therefore G5620 CONJ let no man G3367 A-NSM glory G2744 V-PNM-3S in G1722 PREP men G444 N-DPM . For G1063 CONJ all things G3956 A-NPN are G2076 V-PXI-3S yours G5216 P-2GP ;
22 Whether G1535 CONJ Paul G3972 N-NSM , or G1535 CONJ Apollos G625 N-NSM , or G1535 CONJ Cephas G2786 N-NSM , or G1535 CONJ the world G2889 N-NSM , or G1535 CONJ life G2222 N-NSF , or G1535 CONJ death G2288 N-NSM , or G1535 CONJ things present G1764 V-RAP-NPN , or G1535 CONJ things to come G3195 V-PAP-NPN ; all G3956 A-NPN are G2076 V-PXI-3S yours G5216 P-2GP ;
23 And G1161 CONJ ye G5210 P-2NP are Christ G5547 N-GSM \'s ; and G1161 CONJ Christ G5547 N-NSM is God G2316 N-GSM \'s .
