2 Chronicles 16:6 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 In the thirty and sixth year of the reign of Asa, come up hath Baasha king of Israel, against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, so as not to permit any going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.
2 And Asa bringeth out silver and gold from the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and of the house of the king, and sendeth unto Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,
3 `A covenant is between me and thee, and between my father and thy father, lo, I have sent to thee silver and gold; go, break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he doth go up from off me.`
4 And Ben-Hadad hearkeneth unto king Asa, and sendeth the heads of the forces that he hath unto cities of Israel, and they smite Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Maim, and all the stores, cities of Naphtali.
5 And it cometh to pass, at Baasha's hearing, that he ceaseth from building Ramah, and letteth his work rest;
6 and Asa the king hath taken all Judah, and they bear away the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and he buildeth with them Geba and Mizpah.
7 And at that time hath Hanani the seer come in unto Asa king of Judah, and saith unto him, `Because of thy leaning on the king of Aram, and thou hast not leaned on Jehovah thy God, therefore hath the force of the king of Aram escaped from thy hand.
8 Did not the Cushim and the Lubim become a very great force for multitude, for chariot, and for horsemen? and in thy leaning on Jehovah He gave them into thy hand,
9 for Jehovah -- His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong for a people whose heart is perfect towards Him; thou hast been foolish concerning this, because -- henceforth there are with thee wars.`
10 And Asa is angry at the seer, and giveth him to the house of torture, for he is in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresseth some of the people at that time.
11 And lo, the matters of Asa, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 And Asa is diseased -- in the thirty and ninth year of his reign -- in his feet, till his disease is excessive, and also in his disease he hath not sought Jehovah, but among physicians.
13 And Asa lieth with his fathers, and dieth in the forty and first year of his reign,
14 and they bury him in one of his graves, that he had prepared for himself in the city of David, and they cause him to lie on a bed that one hath filled with spices, and divers kinds of mixtures, with perfumed work; and they burn for him a burning -- very great.

2 Then Asa H609 brought out H3318 W-VHY3MS silver H3701 NMS and gold H2091 out of the treasures H214 of the house H1004 W-NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS and of the king H4428 NMS \'s house H1004 W-NMS , and sent H7971 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP Ben H1130 - hadad king H4428 NMS of Syria H758 EMS , that dwelt H3427 at Damascus H1834 , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
3 There is a league H1285 NFS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and thee , as there was between H996 W-PREP my father H1 NMS and thy father H1 NMS : behold H2009 IJEC , I have sent H7971 thee silver H3701 NMS and gold H2091 ; go H1980 VQI2MS , break H6565 thy league H1285 with H854 PREP Baasha H1201 king H4428 NMS of Israel H3478 , that he may depart H5927 from me .
4 And Ben H1130 - hadad hearkened H8085 unto H413 PREP king H4428 D-NMS Asa H609 , and sent H7971 W-VQY3MS the captains H8269 CMP of his H834 RPRO armies H2428 against H413 PREP the cities H5892 of Israel H3478 ; and they smote H5221 W-VHY3MP Ijon H5859 , and Dan H1835 , and Abel H66 - maim , and all H3605 CMS the store H4543 cities H5892 of Naphtali H5321 .
5 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS , when Baasha H1201 heard H8085 it , that he left off H2308 building H1129 of Ramah H7414 , and let his work H4399 cease H7673 .
6 Then Asa H609 the king H4428 D-NMS took H3947 VQQ3MS all H3605 NMS Judah H3063 ; and they carried away H5375 W-VQY3MP the stones H68 CMP of Ramah H7414 , and the timber H6086 thereof , wherewith H834 RPRO Baasha H1201 was building H1129 VQQ3MS ; and he built H1129 W-VQY3MS therewith Geba H1387 and Mizpah H4709 .
7 And at that H1931 time H6256 Hanani H2607 the seer H7203 came H935 VQPMS to H413 PREP Asa H609 king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , Because thou hast relied H8172 on H5921 PREP the king H4428 NMS of Syria H758 EMS , and not H3808 W-NPAR relied H8172 on H5921 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS thy God H430 CMP-2MS , therefore H3651 ADV is the host H2428 of the king H4428 NMS of Syria H758 EMS escaped H4422 out of thine hand H3027 GFS-2MS .
8 Were H1961 VQQ3MP not H3808 I-NADV the Ethiopians H3569 and the Lubims H3864 a huge H7230 LD-NMS host H2428 , with very H3966 ADV many H7235 chariots H7393 and horsemen H6571 ? yet , because thou didst rely H8172 on H5921 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS , he delivered H5414 them into thine hand H3027 .
9 For H3588 CONJ the eyes H5869 CMD-3MS of the LORD H3068 EDS run to and fro H7751 throughout the whole H3605 B-CMS earth H776 D-GFS , to show himself strong H2388 in the behalf of H5973 PREP them whose heart H3824 is perfect H8003 toward H413 PREP-3MS him . Herein H5921 PREP thou hast done foolishly H5528 : therefore H3588 CONJ from henceforth H6258 thou shalt have H3426 PART wars H4421 .
10 Then Asa H609 was wroth H3707 with H413 PREP the seer H7203 , and put H5414 him in a prison H4115 house H1004 CMS ; for H3588 CONJ he was in a rage H2197 with H5973 PREP-3MS him because of H5921 PREP this H2063 DPRO thing . And Asa H609 oppressed H7533 some of H4480 PREP the people H5971 the same H1931 time H6256 .
11 And , behold H2009 IJEC , the acts H1697 CMP of Asa H609 , first H7223 and last H314 , lo H2009 IJEC , they are written H3789 in H5921 PREP the book H5612 CMS of the kings H4428 of Judah H3063 and Israel H3478 .
12 And Asa H609 in the thirty H7970 and ninth H8672 year H8141 B-CFS of his reign H4438 was diseased H2456 in his feet H7272 B-CFD-3MS , until H5704 PREP his disease H2483 was exceeding H4605 great : yet H1571 W-CONJ in his disease H2483 he sought H1875 not H3808 NADV to the LORD H3068 EDS , but H3588 CONJ to the physicians H7495 .
13 And Asa H609 slept H7901 W-VQY3MS with H5973 PREP his fathers H1 , and died H4191 W-VQY3MS in the one H259 and fortieth H705 MMP year H8141 B-CFS of his reign H4427 .
14 And they buried H6912 him in his own sepulchers H6913 , which H834 RPRO he had made H3738 for himself in the city H5892 of David H1732 , and laid H7901 him in the bed H4904 which H834 RPRO was filled H4390 VPQ3MS with sweet odors H1314 and divers kinds H2177 of spices prepared by the apothecaries\' art H7543 : and they made H8313 a very H5704 PREP great H1419 AMS-3FS burning H8316 for him .
