Ezekiel 38:8 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
2 `Son of man, set thy face unto Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him,
3 and thou hast said: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am against thee, O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,
4 And I have turned thee back, And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And have brought thee out, and all thy force, Horses and horsemen, Clothed in perfection all of them, A numerous assembly, with buckler and shield, Handling swords -- all of them.
5 Persia, Cush, and Phut, with them, All of them with shield and helmet.
6 Gomer and all its bands, The house of Togarmah of the sides of the north, And all its bands, many peoples with thee,
7 Be prepared, yea, prepare for thee, Thou and all thine assemblies who are assembled unto thee, And thou hast been to them for a guard.
8 After many days thou art appointed, In the latter end of the years thou comest in unto a land brought back from sword, A people gathered out of many peoples, Upon mountains of Israel, That have been for a perpetual waste, And it from the peoples hath been brought out, And dwelt safely have all of them.
9 And thou hast gone up -- as wasting thou comest in, As a cloud to cover the land art thou, Thou and all thy bands, and many peoples with thee.
10 Thus said the Lord Jehovah: And it hath come to pass in that day, Come up do things on thy heart, And thou hast thought an evil thought,
11 And thou hast said: I go up against a land of unwalled villages, I go in to those at rest, dwelling confidently, All of them are dwelling without walls, And bar and doors they have not.
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey, To turn back thy hand on inhabited wastes, And on a people gathered out of nations, Making cattle and substance, Dwelling on a high part of the land.
13 Sheba, and Dedan, and merchants of Tarshish, And all its young lions say to thee: To take a spoil art thou come in? To take a prey assembled thine assembly? To bear away silver and gold? To take away cattle and substance? To take a great spoil?
14 Therefore, prophesy, son of man, and thou hast said to Gog: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In that day, in the dwelling of My people Israel safely, Dost thou not know?
15 And thou hast come in out of thy place, From the sides of the north, Thou and many peoples with thee, Riding on horses -- all of them, A great assembly, and a numerous force.
16 And thou hast come up against My people Israel, As a cloud to cover the land, In the latter end of the days it is, And I have brought thee in against My land, In order that the nations may know Me, In My being sanctified in thee before their eyes, O Gog.
17 Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Art thou he of whom I spake in former days, By the hand of My servants, prophets of Israel, Who are prophesying in those days -- years, To bring thee in against them?
18 And it hath come to pass, in that day, In the day of the coming in of Gog against the land of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Come up doth My fury in My face,
19 And in My zeal, in the fire of My wrath, I have spoken: Is there not in that day a great rushing on the land of Israel?
20 And rushed from My presence have fishes of the sea, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the field, And every creeping thing that is creeping on the ground, And all men who are on the face of the ground, And thrown down have been the mountains, And fallen have the ascents, And every wall to the earth falleth.
21 And I have called against him, to all My mountains a sword, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, The sword of each is against his brother.
22 And I have been judged with him, With pestilence and with blood, And an overflowing rain and hailstones, Fire and brimstone I rain on him, and on his bands, And on many peoples who are with him.
23 And I have magnified Myself, and sanctified Myself, And I have been known before the eyes of many nations, And they have known that I am Jehovah!

2 Son H1121 of man H120 NMS , set H7760 VQFC thy face H6440 CMP-2MS against H413 PREP Gog H1463 , the land H776 GFS of Magog H4031 , the chief H7218 NMS prince H5387 of Meshech H4902 and Tubal H8422 W-EMS , and prophesy H5012 against H5921 him ,
3 And say H559 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Behold H2009 , I am against H413 PREP-2MS thee , O Gog H1463 , the chief H7218 NMS prince H5387 of Meshech H4902 and Tubal H8422 :
4 And I will turn thee back H7725 , and put H5414 hooks H2397 into thy jaws H3895 , and I will bring thee forth , and all H3605 NMS thine army H2428 , horses H5483 and horsemen H6571 , all H3605 NMS of them clothed H3847 with all sorts H4358 of armor , even a great H7227 AMS company H6951 with bucklers H6793 and shields H4043 , all H3605 NMS of them handling H8610 swords H2719 :
5 Persia H6539 , Ethiopia H3568 EMS , and Libya H6316 W-EMS with H854 PREP-3MP them ; all H3605 CMS-3MP of them with shield H4043 NMS and helmet H3553 :
6 Gomer H1586 EMS , and all H3605 NMS his bands H102 ; the house H1004 CMS of Togarmah H8425 of the north H6828 NFS quarters H3411 CFS , and all H3605 NMS his bands H102 : and many H7227 AMP people H5971 NMP with H854 PART-2FS thee .
7 Be thou prepared H3559 , and prepare H3559 for thyself , thou H859 PPRO-2MS , and all H3605 W-CMS thy company H6951 that are assembled H6950 unto H5921 PREP-2MS thee , and be H1961 W-VQQ2MS thou a guard H4929 unto them .
8 After many H7227 AMP days H3117 thou shalt be visited H6485 : in the latter H319 years H8141 thou shalt come H935 VQY2MS into H413 PREP the land H776 GFS that is brought back H7725 from the sword H2719 M-NFS , and is gathered H6908 out of many H7227 AMP people H5971 , against H5921 PREP the mountains H2022 CMP of Israel H3478 , which H834 RPRO have been H1961 VQQ3MP always H8548 waste H2723 : but it H1931 is brought forth H3318 out of the nations H5971 , and they shall dwell H3427 safely H983 L-NMS all H3605 CMS-3MP of them .
9 Thou shalt ascend H5927 and come H935 VQY3FS like a storm H7722 , thou shalt be H1961 VQY2MS like a cloud H6051 to cover H3680 the land H776 D-GFS , thou H859 PPRO-2MS , and all H3605 W-CMS thy bands H102 , and many H7227 AMP people H5971 with H854 thee .
10 Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; It shall also come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS , that at the same H1931 D-PPRO-3MS time H3117 B-AMS shall things H1697 come H5927 into H5921 PREP thy mind H3824 , and thou shalt think H2803 an evil H7451 AFS thought H4284 :
11 And thou shalt say H559 , I will go up H5927 to H5921 PREP the land H776 GFS of unwalled villages H6519 ; I will go H935 VQI1MS to them that are at rest H8252 , that dwell H3427 safely H983 L-NMS , all H3605 CMS-3MP of them dwelling H3427 without H369 walls H2346 , and having neither H369 NPAR bars H1280 nor gates H1817 ,
12 To take H7997 a spoil H7998 , and to take H962 a prey H957 ; to turn H7725 L-VHFC thine hand H3027 CFS-2MS upon H5921 PREP the desolate places H2723 NFP that are now inhabited H3427 , and upon H413 W-PREP the people H5971 NMS that are gathered H622 out of the nations H1471 , which have gotten H6213 VQPMS cattle H4735 NMS and goods H7075 , that dwell H3427 in H5921 PREP the midst H2872 of the land H776 D-GFS .
13 Sheba H7614 TRIB , and Dedan H1719 , and the merchants H5503 of Tarshish H8659 LFS , with all H3605 W-CMS the young lions H3715 thereof , shall say H559 VQY3MP unto thee , Art thou H859 PPRO-2MS come H935 to take H7997 a spoil H7998 ? hast thou gathered H6950 thy company H6951 to take H962 a prey H957 ? to carry away H5375 silver H3701 NMS and gold H2091 , to take away H3947 L-VQFC cattle H4735 NMS and goods H7075 , to take H7997 a great H1419 spoil H7998 ?
14 Therefore H3651 L-ADV , son H1121 CMS of man H120 NMS , prophesy H5012 and say H559 unto Gog H1463 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; In that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 B-AMS when my people H5971 of Israel H3478 dwelleth H3427 safely H983 L-NMS , shalt thou not H3808 D-NPAR know H3045 VQY2MS it ?
15 And thou shalt come H935 W-VQQ2MS from thy place H4725 out of the north H6828 NFS parts H3411 , thou H859 PPRO-2MS , and many H7227 AMP people H5971 with H854 PART-2MS thee , all H3605 CMS-3MP of them riding H7392 upon horses H5483 , a great H1419 AMS company H6951 , and a mighty H7227 AMS army H2428 :
16 And thou shalt come up H5927 against H5921 PREP my people H5971 of Israel H3478 , as a cloud H6051 to cover H3680 the land H776 D-GFS ; it shall be H1961 VQY2MS in the latter H319 days H3117 D-NMP , and I will bring H935 thee against H5921 PREP my land H776 , that H4616 L-CONJ the heathen H1471 D-NMP may know H3045 me , when I shall be sanctified H6942 in thee , O Gog H1463 , before their eyes H5869 .
17 Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Art thou H859 he H1931 PPRO-3MS of whom H834 RPRO I have spoken H1696 VPQ1MS in old H6931 time H3117 by H3027 B-CFS my servants H5650 the prophets H5030 of Israel H3478 , which prophesied H5012 in those H1992 D-PPRO-3MP days H3117 BD-NMP many years H8141 NFP that I would bring H935 L-VHFC thee against H5921 PREP-3MP them ?
18 And it shall come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS at the same H1931 D-PPRO-3MS time H3117 B-NMS when H3117 B-NMS Gog H1463 shall come H935 VQFC against H5921 PREP the land H127 of Israel H3478 , saith H5002 the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 , that my fury H2534 shall come up H5927 in my face H639 B-CMS-1MS .
19 For in my jealousy H7068 and in the fire H784 of my wrath H5678 have I spoken H1696 VPQ1MS , Surely H518 PART in that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 B-AMS there shall be H1961 VQY3MS a great H1419 AMS shaking H7494 in H5921 PREP the land H127 of Israel H3478 LMS ;
20 So that the fishes H1709 CMP of the sea H3220 D-NMS , and the fowls H5775 NMS of the heaven H8064 D-NMD , and the beasts H2416 W-CFS of the field H7704 D-NMS , and all H3605 W-CMS creeping things H7431 D-NMS that creep H7430 D-NMS upon H5921 PREP the earth H127 D-NFS , and all H3605 W-CMS the men H120 D-NMS that H834 RPRO are upon H5921 PREP the face H6440 CMP of the earth H127 D-NFS , shall shake H7493 at my presence H6440 CMP , and the mountains H2022 shall be thrown down H2040 , and the steep places H4095 shall fall H5307 , and every H3605 W-CMS wall H2346 shall fall H5307 to the ground H776 LD-NFS .
21 And I will call for H7121 a sword H2719 GFS against H5921 PREP-3MS him throughout all H3605 L-CMS my mountains H2022 , saith H5002 the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 : every man H376 NMS \'s sword H2719 GFS shall be H1961 against his brother H251 .
22 And I will plead H8199 against H854 PREP-3MS him with pestilence H1698 and with blood H1818 ; and I will rain H4305 upon H5921 PREP-3MS him , and upon H5921 PREP-3MS his bands H102 , and upon H5921 PREP-3MS the many H7227 AMP people H5971 NMP that H834 RPRO are with H854 PREP-3MS him , an overflowing H7857 rain H1653 W-CMS , and great hailstones H68 , fire H784 CMS , and brimstone H1614 .
23 Thus will I magnify myself H1431 , and sanctify myself H6942 ; and I will be known H3045 in the eyes H5869 of many H7227 AMP nations H1471 NMP , and they shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
