17 দান পথে অবস্থিত সর্প, সে মার্গে অবস্থিত ফণী, যে ঘোটকের চরণে দংশন করে, আর তদারূঢ় ব্যক্তি পশ্চাতে পতিত হয়।

TOV   தாண், குதிரையின்மேல் ஏறியிருக்கிறவன் மல்லாந்து விழும்படியாய் அதின் குதிகாலைக் கடிக்கிறதற்கு வழியில் கிடக்கிற சர்ப்பத்தைப்போலவும், பாதையில் இருக்கிற விரியனைப்போலவும் இருப்பான்.
ERVTA   இவன் சாலையோரத்தில் அலையும் பாம்பைப் போன்றவன். இவன் பாதையிலேபடுத்திருக்கும் பாம்பைப் போன்று பயங்கரமானவன். இப்பாம்பு ஒரு குதிரையின் காலை கடிக்கிறது, சவாரி செய்தவன் கீழே விழுகிறான்.
MOV   ദാൻ വഴിയിൽ ഒരു പാമ്പും പാതയിൽ ഒരു സർപ്പവും ആകുന്നു; അവൻ കുതിരയുടെ കുതികാൽ കടിക്കും; പുറത്തു കയറിയവൻ മലർന്നു വീഴും.
TEV   దాను త్రోవలో సర్పముగాను దారిలో కట్లపాముగాను ఉండును. అది గుఱ్ఱపు మడిమెలు కరచును అందువలన ఎక్కువాడు వెనుకకు పడును.
ERVTE   దారి ప్రక్కన ఉండే పామువలె దాను ఉండునుగాక త్రోవ దగ్గర పొంచి ఉండే కట్లపామువలె అతడు ఉండుగాక. పాము గుర్రపు మడిమెను కాటు వేస్తుంది. గుర్రంమీద స్వారీ చేసే మనిషి గుర్రం మీదనుండి పడిపోతాడు.”
KNV   ದಾನನು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸರ್ಪವೂ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಾವೂ ಆಗಿರುವನು. ಕುದುರೆಯ ಹಿಮ್ಮಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕಚ್ಚಿದರೆ ಹತ್ತಿದವನು ಬೋರಲು ಬೀಳುವನು.
