Deuteronomy 32:36 (WEB) World English Bible

1 Give ear, you heavens, and I will speak; Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain; My speech shall condense as the dew, As the small rain on the tender grass, As the showers on the herb.
3 For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh: Ascribe greatness to our God.
4 The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.
5 They have dealt corruptly with him, they are not his children, it is their blemish; They are a perverse and crooked generation.
6 Do you thus requite Yahweh, Foolish people and unwise? Isn't he your father who has bought you? He has made you, and established you.
7 Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations: Ask your father, and he will show you; Your elders, and they will tell you.
8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, When he separated the children of men, He set the bounds of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.
9 For Yahweh's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 He found him in a desert land, In the waste howling wilderness; He compassed him about, he cared for him, He kept him as the apple of his eye.
11 As an eagle that stirs up her nest, That flutters over her young, He spread abroad his wings, he took them, He bore them on his feathers.
12 Yahweh alone did lead him, There was no foreign god with him.
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, He ate the increase of the field; He made him to suck honey out of the rock, Oil out of the flinty rock;
14 Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs, Rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the finest of the wheat; Of the blood of the grape you drank wine.
15 But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked: You have grown fat, you are grown thick, you are become sleek; Then he forsook God who made him, Lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16 They moved him to jealousy with strange gods; With abominations provoked they him to anger.
17 They sacrificed to demons, which were no God, To gods that they didn't know, To new gods that came up of late, Which your fathers didn't dread.
18 Of the Rock that became your father, you are unmindful, Have forgotten God who gave you birth.
19 Yahweh saw it, and abhorred them, Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
20 He said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; They have provoked me to anger with their vanities: I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, Burns to the lowest Sheol, Devours the earth with its increase, Sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23 I will heap evils on them; I will spend my arrows on them:
24 They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat Bitter destruction; The teeth of animals will I send on them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.
25 Outside shall the sword bereave, In the chambers terror; It shall destroy both young man and virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.
26 I said, I would scatter them afar, I would make the memory of them to cease from among men;
27 Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.
28 For they are a nation void of counsel, There is no understanding in them.
29 Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider their latter end!
30 How should one chase a thousand, Two put ten thousand to flight, Except their Rock had sold them, Yahweh had delivered them up?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, Even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, Of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter:
33 Their wine is the poison of serpents, The cruel venom of asps.
34 Isn't this laid up in store with me, Sealed up among my treasures?
35 Vengeance is mine, and recompense, At the time when their foot shall slide: For the day of their calamity is at hand, The things that are to come on them shall make haste.
36 For Yahweh will judge his people, Repent himself for his servants; When he sees that their power is gone, There is none remaining, shut up or left at large.
37 He will say, Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge;
38 Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink-offering? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be your protection.
39 See now that I, even I, am he, There is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; There is none who can deliver out of my hand.
40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live forever,
41 If I whet my glittering sword, My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my adversaries, Will recompense those who hate me.
42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, My sword shall devour flesh; With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the head of the leaders of the enemy.
43 Rejoice, you nations, with his people: For he will avenge the blood of his servants, Will render vengeance to his adversaries, Will make expiation for his land, for his people.
44 Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.
45 Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;
46 He said to them, Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, even all the words of this law.
47 For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.
48 Yahweh spoke to Moses that same day, saying,
49 Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession;
50 and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:
51 because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you didn't sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.
52 For you shall see the land before you; but you shall not go there into the land which I give the children of Israel.

3 Because H3588 CONJ I will publish H7121 the name H8034 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS : ascribe H3051 VQI2MP ye greatness H1433 unto our God H430 .
4 He is the Rock H6697 , his work H6467 is perfect H8549 AMS : for H3588 CONJ all H3605 CMS his ways H1870 CMP-3MS are judgment H4941 NMS : a God H410 EDS of truth H530 and without H369 W-NPAR iniquity H5766 NMS , just H6662 AMS and right H3477 W-AMS is he H1931 PPRO-3MS .
5 They have corrupted H7843 themselves , their spot H3971 is not H3808 NADV the spot of his children H1121 CMP-3MS : they are a perverse H6141 and crooked H6618 generation H1755 .
6 Do ye thus H2063 DPRO requite H1580 the LORD H3068 , O foolish H5036 AMS people H5971 NMS and unwise H2450 AMS ? is not H3808 W-NPAR he H1931 PPRO-3MS thy father H1 NMS that hath bought H7069 thee ? hath he H1931 PPRO-3MS not made H6213 thee , and established H3559 thee ?
7 Remember H2142 VQI2MS the days H3117 of old H5769 NMS , consider H995 the years H8141 CFP of many generations H1755 : ask H7592 VQI2MS thy father H1 NMS , and he will show H5046 thee ; thy elders H2205 , and they will tell H559 W-VQY3MP thee .
8 When the most High H5945 AMS divided H5157 to the nations H1471 NMP their inheritance , when he separated H6504 the sons H1121 of Adam H120 NMS , he set H5324 the bounds H1367 of the people H5971 NMP according to the number H4557 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 LMS .
9 For H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS \'s portion H2506 CMS is his people H5971 ; Jacob H3290 is the lot H2256 of his inheritance H5159 .
10 He found H4672 him in a desert H4057 NMS land H776 B-GFS , and in the waste H8414 howling H3214 wilderness H3452 ; he led him about H5437 , he instructed H995 him , he kept H5341 him as the apple H380 of his eye H5869 CMS-3MS .

15 But Jeshurun H3484 waxed fat H8080 , and kicked H1163 : thou art waxen fat H8080 , thou art grown thick H5666 , thou art covered H3780 with fatness ; then he forsook H5203 God H433 EDS which made H6213 VQQ3MS-3MS him , and lightly esteemed H5034 the Rock H6697 NMS of his salvation H3444 .
16 They provoked him to jealousy H7065 with strange H2114 gods , with abominations H8441 provoked they him to anger H3707 .
17 They sacrificed H2076 unto devils H7700 , not H3808 NADV to God H433 ; to gods H430 EDP whom they knew H3045 not H3808 NADV , to new H2319 AMP gods that came H935 VQQ3MP newly up H7138 , whom your fathers H1 feared H8175 not H3808 NADV .
18 Of the Rock H6697 NMS that begot H3205 thee thou art unmindful H7876 , and hast forgotten H7911 W-VQY3FS God H410 EDS that formed H2342 thee .
19 And when the LORD H3068 EDS saw H7200 W-VIY3MS it , he abhorred H5006 them , because of the provoking H3708 of his sons H1121 CMP-3MS , and of his daughters H1323 .
20 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , I will hide H5641 my face H6440 CMP-1MS from H4480 them , I will see H7200 VQY1MS what H4100 IGAT their end H319 shall be : for H3588 CONJ they H1992 M-PPRO-3MS are a very froward H8419 generation H1755 , children H1121 NMP in whom is no H3808 NADV faith H529 .
21 They H1992 PPRO-3MP have moved me to jealousy H7065 with that which is not H3808 God H410 EDS ; they have provoked me to anger H3707 with their vanities H1892 : and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS will move them to jealousy H7065 with those which are not H3808 B-NPAR a people H5971 NMS ; I will provoke them to anger H3707 with a foolish H5036 AMS nation H1471 .
22 For H3588 CONJ a fire H784 CMS is kindled H6919 in mine anger H639 , and shall burn H3344 unto H5704 PREP the lowest H8482 hell H7585 NMS , and shall consume H398 W-VQY3FS the earth H776 GFS with her increase H2981 , and set on fire H3857 the foundations H4146 of the mountains H2022 NMP .
23 I will heap H5595 mischiefs H7451 upon H5921 PREP-3MP them ; I will spend H3615 mine arrows H2671 upon them .
24 They shall be burnt H4198 with hunger H7458 NMS , and devoured H3898 with burning heat H7565 NMS , and with bitter H4815 destruction H6986 : I will also send H7971 the teeth H8127 of beasts H929 upon them , with H5973 PREP the poison H2534 of serpents H2119 of the dust H6083 .
25 The sword H2719 GFS without H2351 , and terror H367 within H2315 , shall destroy H7921 both H1571 CONJ the young man H970 and H1571 CONJ the virgin H1330 , the suckling H3243 also with H5973 PREP the man H376 NMS of gray hairs H7872 .
26 I said H559 VQQ1MS , I would scatter them into corners H6284 , I would make the remembrance H2143 of them to cease H7673 from among men H376 :
27 Were it not that H3884 I feared H1481 the wrath H3708 of the enemy H341 VQPMS , lest H6435 CONJ their adversaries H6862 should behave themselves strangely H5234 , and lest H6435 CONJ they should say H559 , Our hand H3027 GFP-1MP is high H7311 VQPFS , and the LORD H3068 EDS hath not H3808 W-NPAR done H6466 all H3605 NMS this H2063 .
28 For H3588 CONJ they H1992 PPRO-3MP are a nation H1471 void H6 of counsel H6098 , neither H369 W-NPAR is there any understanding H8394 NFS in them .
29 O that H3863 CONJ they were wise H2449 , that they understood H7919 this H2063 DPRO , that they would consider H995 VQY3MP their latter end H319 !
30 How H349 should one H259 MMS chase H7291 a thousand H505 W-BMS , and two H8147 put H5127 ten thousand H7233 to flight H5127 , except H518 PART their Rock H6697 had sold H4376 them , and the LORD H3068 W-EDS had shut them up H5462 ?
31 For H3588 CONJ their rock H6697 is not H3808 NADV as our Rock H6697 , even our enemies H341 themselves being judges H6414 NMP .
32 For H3588 CONJ their vine H1612 is of the vine H1612 of Sodom H5467 TFS , and of the fields H7709 of Gomorrah H6017 EFS : their grapes H6025 are grapes H6025 of gall H7219 , their clusters H811 are bitter H4846 :
33 Their wine H3196 is the poison H2534 of dragons H8577 , and the cruel H393 venom H7219 of asps H6620 NMP .
34 Is not H3808 I-NADV this H1931 PPRO-3MS laid up in store H3647 with H5978 PREP-1MS me and sealed up H2856 VWPMP among my treasures H214 ?
35 To me belongeth vengeance H5359 , and recompense H8005 ; their foot H7272 shall slide H4131 in due time H6256 L-CMS : for H3588 CONJ the day H3117 NMS of their calamity H343 NMS-3MP is at hand H7138 AMS , and the things that shall come H6264 upon them make haste H2363 .
36 For H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS shall judge H1777 VQY3MS his people H5971 , and repent himself H5162 for H5921 W-PREP his servants H5650 , when H3588 CONJ he seeth H7200 VQY3MS that H3588 CONJ their power H3027 NFS is gone H235 , and there is none H657 shut up H6113 , or left H5800 .
37 And he shall say H559 , Where H335 IPRO are their gods H430 , their rock H6697 NMS in whom they trusted H2620 ,
38 Which H834 RPRO did eat H398 the fat H2459 of their sacrifices H2077 , and drank H8354 the wine H3196 of their drink offerings H5257 ? let them rise up H6965 VQY3MP and help H5826 you , and be VPY3MS your protection H5643 .
39 See H7200 now H6258 ADV that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS , even I H589 PPRO-1MS , am he H1931 PPRO-3MS , and there is no H369 W-NPAR god H430 EDP with H5978 PREP-1MS me : I H589 PPRO-1MS kill H4191 , and I make alive H2421 ; I wound H4272 , and I H589 PPRO-1MS heal H7495 : neither H369 W-NPAR is there any that can deliver H5337 VHPMS out of my hand H3027 .
40 For H3588 CONJ I lift up H5375 VQY1MS my hand H3027 CFS-1MS to H413 PREP heaven H8064 NMP , and say H559 W-VQQ1MS , I H595 PPRO-1MS live H2416 AMS forever H5769 L-NMS .
41 If H518 PART I whet H8150 my glittering H1300 sword H2719 , and mine hand H3027 CFS-1MS take hold H270 on judgment H4941 ; I will render H7725 vengeance H5359 to mine enemies H6862 , and will reward H7999 them that hate H8130 me .
42 I will make mine arrows H2671 drunk H7937 with blood H1818 , and my sword H2719 shall devour H398 VQY2MS flesh H1320 NMS ; and that with the blood H1818 of the slain H2491 and of the captives H7633 , from the beginning H7218 of revenges H6546 upon the enemy H341 .
43 Rejoice H7442 , O ye nations H1471 NMP , with his people H5971 : for H3588 CONJ he will avenge H5358 the blood H1818 of his servants H5650 , and will render H7725 VHY3MS vengeance H5359 to his adversaries H6862 , and will be merciful H3722 unto his land H127 , and to his people H5971 .
44 And Moses H4872 came H935 W-VQY3MS and spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS all H3605 NMS the words H1697 CMP of this H2063 D-DFS song H7892 in the ears H241 of the people H5971 , he H1931 PPRO-3MS , and Hoshea H1954 the son H1121 of Nun H5126 .
45 And Moses H4872 made an end H3615 W-VPY3MS of speaking H1696 all H3605 NMS these H428 D-DPRO-3MP words H1697 AMP to H413 PREP all H3605 NMS Israel H3478 LMS :

52 Yet H3588 CONJ thou shalt see H7200 the land H776 D-GFS before H5048 M-PREP thee ; but thou shalt not H3808 NADV go H935 VQY3FS thither H8033 unto H413 PREP the land H776 D-GFS which H834 RPRO I H589 PPRO-1MS give H5414 VQPMS the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 LMS .
