1 Chronicles 28:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 And David gathered to Jerusalem all the rulers of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and the commanders of the divisions that ministered to the king by division, and the commanders over the thousands, and commanders over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the eunuchs and the mighty ones, even to every mighty one of valor.
2 And David the king stood up on his feet and said, Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building.
3 But God said to me, You shall not build a house for My name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood.
4 But Jehovah, the God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be the ruler, and of the house of Judah the house of my father. And in my father's house He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.
5 And of all my sons (for Jehovah has given me many sons), He has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
6 And He said to me, Solomon your son shall build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father.
7 And I will establish his kingdom forever if he will always do My commandments and My judgments, as at this day.
8 And now in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of Jehovah, and in the hearing of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of Jehovah your God, so that you may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance for your sons after you forever.
9 And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind. For Jehovah searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
10 Take heed now, for Jehovah has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong and do it.
11 And David gave to his son Solomon the pattern of the porch, and of its houses, and of its treasuries, and of its upper rooms, and of its innermost rooms, and of the place of the mercy-seat,
12 and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of Jehovah, and of all the rooms all around the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the holy things;
13 And for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah;
14 even gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of every kind of service; silver for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels every kind of service;
15 and by weight for the lampstands of gold, and for their lamps of gold, with the weight of each lampstand and its lamps. And he gave for the lampstands of silver by weight, for the lampstand and for its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;
16 and by weight gold for the tables of the showbread, for every table; silver for the tables of silver;
17 and pure gold for the flesh-hooks, and the bowls, and the cups; and for the golden basins by weight for each basin, and by weight for each basin of silver;
18 and the altar of incense refined gold by weight, and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubs, who spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.
19 All was in writing from the hand of Jehovah. He made me understand all the work of this pattern.
20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it. Do not fear, nor be dismayed, for Jehovah God, my God, will be with you. He will not fail you nor leave you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of Jehovah.
21 And, behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites are for all the service of the house of God. And there shall be with you every willing, skillful man for every kind of workmanship, for any kind of service. Also the rulers and all the people will be according to all your words.
1 And David H1732 assembled H6950 all H3605 NMS the princes H8269 CMP of Israel H3478 , the princes H8269 CMP of the tribes H7626 , and the captains H8269 of the companies H4256 that ministered H8334 to the king H4428 D-NMS by course , and the captains H8269 over the thousands H505 , and captains H8269 over the hundreds H3967 , and the stewards H8269 over all H3605 NMS the substance H7399 and possession H4735 of the king H4428 , and of his sons H1121 , with H5973 PREP the officers H5631 , and with the mighty men H1368 AMS , and with all H3605 NMS the valiant H2428 men H1368 AMS , unto H413 PREP Jerusalem H3389 .
2 Then David H1732 the king H4428 D-NMS stood up H6965 W-VQY3MS upon H5921 PREP his feet H7272 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Hear H8085 me , my brethren H251 NMP-1MS , and my people H5971 : As for me , I H589 PPRO-1MS had in H5973 PREP mine heart H3824 CMS-1MS to build H1129 a house H1004 CMS of rest H4496 for the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 NFS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and for the footstool H1916 of our God H430 , and had made ready H3559 for the building H1129 :
3 But God H430 said H559 VQQ3MS unto me , Thou shalt not H3808 NADV build H1129 a house H1004 for my name H8034 , because H3588 CONJ thou H859 PPRO-2MS hast been a man H376 NMS of war H4421 , and hast shed H8210 blood H1818 .
4 Howbeit the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 chose H977 W-VQY3MS me before all H3605 NMS the house H1004 CMS of my father H1 CMS-1MS to be H1961 king H4428 L-CMS over H5921 PREP Israel H3478 forever H5769 L-NMS : for H3588 CONJ he hath chosen H977 Judah H3063 to be the ruler H5057 ; and of the house H1004 of Judah H3063 , the house H1004 CMS of my father H1 CMS-1MS ; and among the sons H1121 of my father H1 CMS-1MS he liked H7521 me to make me king H4427 over H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS Israel H3478 LMS :
5 And of all H3605 WM-CMS my sons H1121 , ( CONJ for CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS hath given H5414 VQQ3MS me many H7227 AMP sons H1121 NMP , ) he hath chosen H977 W-VQY3MS Solomon H8010 my son H1121 to sit H3427 L-VQFC upon H5921 PREP the throne H3678 of the kingdom H4438 CFP of the LORD H3068 EDS over H5921 PREP Israel H3478 LMS .
6 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto me , Solomon H8010 MMS thy son H1121 , he H1931 PPRO-3MS shall build H1129 my house H1004 CMS-1MS and my courts H2691 : for H3588 CONJ I have chosen H977 him to be my son H1121 , and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS will be H1961 VQY1MS his father H1 .
7 Moreover I will establish H3559 his kingdom H4438 CFP-3MS forever H5704 PREP , if H518 PART he be constant H2388 to do H6213 L-VQFC my commandments H4687 and my judgments H4941 , as at this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 .
8 Now H6258 W-ADV therefore in the sight H5869 of all H3605 NMS Israel H3478 the congregation H6951 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and in the audience H241 of our God H430 , keep H8104 and seek H1875 for all H3605 NMS the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 EDS your God H430 : that H4616 L-CONJ ye may possess H3423 this good H2896 land H776 D-GFS , and leave it for an inheritance H5157 for your children H1121 after H310 you forever H5704 PREP .
9 And thou H859 W-PPRO-2MS , Solomon H8010 my son H1121 , know H3045 thou the God H430 CDP of thy father H1 NMS , and serve H5647 him with a perfect H8003 heart H3820 and with a willing H2655 mind H5315 : for H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS searcheth H1875 all H3605 CMS hearts H3824 , and understandeth H995 all H3605 W-CMS the imaginations H3336 CMS of the thoughts H4284 : if H518 PART thou seek H1875 him , he will be found H4672 of thee ; but if H518 W-PART thou forsake H5800 him , he will cast thee off H2186 forever H5704 .
10 Take heed H7200 VQI2MS now H6258 ADV ; for H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS hath chosen H977 thee to build H1129 a house H1004 NMS for the sanctuary H4720 : be strong H2388 , and do H6213 it .
11 Then David H1732 gave H5414 W-VQQ3MS to Solomon H8010 his son H1121 the pattern H8403 of the porch H197 , and of the houses H1004 W-NMS thereof , and of the treasuries H1597 thereof , and of the upper chambers H5944 thereof , and of the inner H6442 parlors H2315 thereof , and of the place H1004 W-NMS of the mercy seat H3727 ,
12 And the pattern H8403 of all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO he had H1961 VQQ3MS by the spirit H7307 , of H5973 PREP-3MS the courts H2691 of the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and of all H3605 NMS the chambers H3957 round about H5439 ADV , of the treasuries H214 of the house H1004 CMS of God H430 D-EDP , and of the treasuries H214 of the dedicated things H6944 :
13 Also for the courses H4256 of the priests H3548 and the Levites H3881 , and for all H3605 WL-CMS the work H4399 of the service H5656 of the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and for all H3605 WL-CMS the vessels H3627 of service H5656 in the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
14 He gave of gold H2091 LD-NMS by weight H4948 for things of gold H2091 LD-NMS , for all H3605 L-CMS instruments H3627 of all manner of service H5656 ; silver also for all H3605 instruments H3627 of silver H3701 by weight H4948 , for all H3605 L-CMS instruments H3627 of every kind of service H5656 :
15 Even the weight H4948 for the candlesticks H4501 of gold H2091 , and for their lamps H5216 of gold H2091 NMS , by weight H4948 for every candlestick H4501 , and for the lamps H5216 thereof : and for the candlesticks H4501 of silver H3701 by weight H4948 , both for the candlestick H4501 , and also for the lamps H5216 thereof , according to the use H5656 of every candlestick H4501 .
16 And by weight H4948 NMS he gave gold H2091 for the tables H7979 of shewbread H4635 , for every table H7979 ; and likewise silver H3701 W-CMS for the tables H7979 of silver H3701 :
17 Also pure H2889 AMS gold H2091 NMS for the fleshhooks H4207 , and the bowls H4219 , and the cups H7184 : and for the golden H2091 basins H3713 he gave gold by weight H4948 for every basin H3713 ; and likewise silver by weight H4948 for every basin H3713 of silver H3701 :
18 And for the altar H4196 of incense H7004 refined H2212 gold H2091 NMS by weight H4948 ; and gold H2091 NMS for the pattern H8403 of the chariot H4818 of the cherubims H3742 D-NMP , that spread out H6566 their wings , and covered H5526 the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 NFS of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
19 All H3605 NMS this , said David , the LORD H3068 EDS made me understand H7919 in writing H3791 by his hand H3027 M-GFS upon H5921 PREP-1MS me , even all H3605 NMS the works H4399 of this pattern H8403 .
20 And David H1732 said H559 W-VQY3MS to Solomon H8010 his son H1121 , Be strong H2388 and of good courage H553 , and do H6213 it : fear H3372 not H408 NPAR , nor H408 ADV be dismayed H2865 : for H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 EDP , even my God H430 NAME-4MP , will be with H5973 PREP-2FS thee ; he will not H3808 NADV fail H7503 thee , nor H3808 W-NADV forsake H5800 thee , until H5704 PREP thou hast finished H3615 all H3605 NMS the work H4399 for the service H5656 of the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
21 And , behold H2009 IJEC , the courses H4256 of the priests H3548 and the Levites H3881 , even they shall be with thee for all H3605 L-CMS the service H5656 of the house H1004 CMS of God H430 D-EDP : and there shall be with H5973 thee for all manner H3605 of workmanship H4399 every H3605 L-CMS willing H5081 AMS skillful man H2451 , for any manner H3605 L-CMS of service H5656 : also the princes H8269 and all H3605 W-CMS the people H5971 will be wholly H3605 L-CMS at thy commandment H1697 .
