Matthew 7:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 Judge not, that you may not be judged.
2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why do you look on the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but do not consider the beam that is in your own eye?
4 Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull the splinter out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye?
5 Hypocrite! First cast the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to cast the splinter out of your brother's eye.
6 Do not give that which is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and tear you.
7 Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.
8 For each one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, if his son asks a loaf, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a snake?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
12 Therefore all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, do even so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13 Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruits, nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.
21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?
23 And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
24 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.
25 And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded on a rock.
26 And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
27 And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the wind blew and beat on that house. And it fell, and great was its fall.
28 And it happened, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His doctrine.
29 For He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

3 And G1161 CONJ why G5101 I-ASN beholdest G991 V-PAI-2S thou the G3588 T-ASN mote G2595 N-ASN that G3588 T-ASN is in G1722 PREP thy G3588 T-GSM brother G80 N-GSM \'s eye G3788 N-DSM , but G1161 CONJ considerest G2657 V-PAI-2S not G3756 PRT-N the G3588 T-DSM beam G1385 N-ASF that is in G1722 PREP thine own G4674 S-2DSM eye G3788 N-DSM ?
4 Or G2228 PRT how G4459 ADV-I wilt thou say G2046 V-FAI-2S to thy G3588 T-DSM brother G80 N-DSM , Let G863 V-2AAM-2S me pull out G1544 V-2AAS-1S the G3588 T-ASN mote G2595 N-ASN out of G575 PREP thine G3588 T-GSM eye G3788 N-GSM ; and G2532 CONJ , behold G2400 V-2AAM-2S , a beam G1385 N-NSF is PREP in thine G3588 T-DSM own eye G3788 N-DSM ?
5 Thou hypocrite G5273 N-VSM , first G4412 ADV cast out G1544 V-2AAM-2S the G3588 T-ASF beam G1385 N-ASF out G1537 PREP of thine G3588 T-GSM own G4675 P-2GS eye G3788 N-GSM ; and G2532 CONJ then G5119 ADV shalt thou see clearly G1227 V-FAI-2S to cast out G1544 V-2AAN the G3588 T-ASN mote G2595 N-ASN out of G1537 PREP thy G3588 T-GSM brother G80 N-GSM \'s eye G3788 N-GSM .
6 Give G1325 V-2AAS-2P not G3361 PRT-N that which is holy G40 A-ASN unto the G3588 T-DPM dogs G2965 N-DPM , neither G3366 CONJ cast G906 V-2AAS-2P ye G3588 T-APM your G3588 T-APM pearls G3135 N-APM before G1715 PREP swine G5519 N-GPM , lest G3379 ADV they trample G2662 V-AAS-3P them G846 P-APM under G1722 PREP their G3588 T-DPM feet G4228 N-DPM , and G2532 CONJ turn again G4762 V-2APP-NPM and rend G4486 V-AAS-3P you G5209 P-2AP .
7 Ask G154 V-PAM-2P , and G2532 CONJ it shall be given G1325 V-FPI-3S you G5213 P-2DP ; seek G2212 V-PAM-2P , and G2532 CONJ ye shall find G2147 V-FAI-2P ; knock G2925 V-PAM-2P , and G2532 CONJ it shall be opened G455 V-2FPI-3S unto you G5213 P-2DP :
8 For G1063 CONJ every one G3956 A-NSM that asketh G154 V-PAP-NSM receiveth G2983 V-PAI-3S ; and G2532 CONJ he that seeketh G2212 V-PAP-NSM findeth G2147 V-PAI-3S ; and G2532 CONJ to him that knocketh G2925 V-PAP-DSM it shall be opened G455 V-2FPI-3S .
9 Or G2228 PRT what G5101 I-NSM man G444 N-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S there of G1537 PREP you G5216 P-2GP , whom G3739 R-ASM if G1437 COND his G3588 T-NSM son G5207 N-NSM ask G154 V-AAS-3S bread G740 N-ASM , will he give G1929 V-FAI-3S him G846 P-DSM a G3361 PRT-N stone G3037 N-ASM ?
10 Or G2532 CONJ if G1437 COND he ask G154 V-AAS-3S a fish G2486 N-ASM , will he give G1929 V-FAI-3S him G846 P-DSM a serpent G3789 N-ASM ?
11 If G1487 COND ye G5210 P-2NP then G3767 CONJ , being G5607 V-PXP-NPM evil G4190 A-NPM , know G1492 V-RAI-2P how to give G1325 V-PAN good G18 A-APN gifts G1390 N-APN unto your G3588 T-DPN children G5043 N-DPN , how much G4214 Q-DSN more G3123 ADV shall your G3588 T-NSM Father G3962 N-NSM which G3588 T-NSM is in G1722 PREP heaven G3772 N-DPM give G1325 V-FAI-3S good things G18 A-APN to them that ask G154 V-PAP-DPM him G846 P-ASM ?

13 Enter G1525 V-2AAM-2P ye in G1223 PREP at the G3588 T-GSF strait G4728 A-GSF gate G4439 N-GSF : for G3754 CONJ wide G4116 A-NSF is the G3588 T-NSF gate G4439 N-NSF , and G2532 CONJ broad G2149 A-NSF is the G3588 T-NSF way G3598 N-NSF , that leadeth G520 V-PAP-NSF to G1519 PREP destruction G684 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ many G4183 A-NPM there be G1526 V-PXI-3P which go in G1525 V-PNP-NPM thereat G1223 PREP :

15 Beware G4337 V-PAM-2P of G3588 T-GPM false prophets G5578 N-GPM , which G3748 R-NPM come G2064 V-PNI-3P to G4314 PREP you G5209 P-2AP in G1722 PREP sheep G4263 N-GPN \'s clothing G1742 N-DPN , but G1161 CONJ inwardly G2081 ADV they are G1526 V-PXI-3P ravening G727 A-NPM wolves G3074 N-NPM .
16 Ye shall know G1921 V-FDI-2P them G846 P-GPM by G575 PREP their G3588 T-GPM fruits G2590 N-GPM . Do men G3385 PRT-I gather G4816 V-PAI-3P grapes G4718 N-ASF of G575 PREP thorns G173 N-GPF , or G2228 PRT figs G4810 N-APN of G575 PREP thistles G5146 N-GPM ?
17 Even so G3779 ADV every G3956 A-NSN good G18 A-NSN tree G1186 N-NSN bringeth forth G4160 V-PAI-3S good G2570 A-APM fruit G2590 N-APM ; but G1161 CONJ a corrupt G4550 A-NSN tree G1186 N-NSN bringeth forth G4160 V-PAI-3S evil G4190 A-APM fruit G2590 N-APM .
18 A good G18 A-NSN tree G1186 N-NSN cannot G1410 V-PNI-3S bring forth G4160 V-PAN evil G4190 A-APM fruit G2590 N-APM , neither G3761 ADV can a corrupt G4550 A-NSN tree G1186 N-NSN bring forth G4160 V-PAN good G2570 A-APM fruit G2590 N-APM .
19 Every G3956 A-NSN tree G1186 N-NSN that bringeth not forth V-PAP-NSN good G2570 A-ASM fruit G2590 N-ASM is hewn down G1581 V-PPI-3S , and G2532 CONJ cast G906 V-PPI-3S into G1519 PREP the fire G4442 N-ASN .
20 Wherefore G686 PRT by G575 PREP their G3588 T-GPM fruits G2590 N-GPM ye shall know G1921 V-FDI-2P them G846 P-APM .
21 Not G3756 PRT-N every one G3956 A-NSM that saith G3004 V-PAP-NSM unto me G3427 P-1DS , Lord G2962 N-VSM , Lord G2962 N-VSM , shall enter G1525 V-FDI-3S into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASF kingdom G932 N-ASF of heaven G3772 N-GPM ; but G235 CONJ he that doeth G4160 V-PAP-NSM the G3588 T-ASN will G2307 N-ASN of G3588 T-GSM my G3588 T-GSM Father G3962 N-GSM which G3588 T-GSM is in G1722 PREP heaven G3772 N-DPM .

29 For G1063 CONJ he taught G2258 V-IXI-3S them G846 P-APM as G5613 ADV one having G2192 V-PAP-NSM authority G1849 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ not G3756 PRT-N as G5613 ADV the G3588 T-NPM scribes G1122 N-NPM .
