Daniel 10:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. And the thing was true, and a great conflict. And he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no food for delight, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.
4 And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris,
5 then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man was clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz.
6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face looked like lightning. And his eyes were like lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet in color were like polished bronze, and the voice of his words like the sound of a multitude.
7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision. For the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great quaking fell on them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me. For my beauty was turned within me to corruption, and I kept no strength.
9 Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I was in a deep sleep on my face, and my face was toward the ground.
10 And behold, a hand touched me, which set me shaking on my knees and the palms of my hands.
11 And he said to me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright. For to you I am now sent. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.
12 Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words.
13 But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days. But lo, Michael, one of the chief rulers, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I have come to make you understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is yet for many days.
15 And when he had spoken such words to me, I bowed my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
16 And behold, one looking like the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O lord, my sorrows are turned on me by the vision, and I have kept no strength.
17 For how can the servant of my lord talk with my lord? For as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, nor is there breath left in me.
18 Then again one like a man in form came and touched me, and he made me stronger
19 and said, O man greatly beloved, do not fear. Peace to you; be strong; yes, be strong. And when he had spoken to me, I was made stronger, and I said, Speak my lord, for you have made me stronger.
20 Then he said, Do you know why I come to you? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I have gone out, lo, the ruler of Greece shall come.
21 But I will show you that which is written in the Scripture of Truth. And there is none who holds strongly with me in these things, but Michael your ruler.

5 Then I lifted up H5375 mine eyes H5869 CMD-1MS , and looked H7200 , and behold H2009 IJEC a certain H259 MMS man H376 NMS clothed H3847 in linen H906 , whose loins H4975 were girded H2296 with fine gold H3800 B-CMS of Uphaz H210 :

7 And I H589 PPRO-1MS Daniel H1840 alone H905 L-CMS-1MS saw H7200 the vision H4759 : for the men H376 that H834 RPRO were H1961 VQQ3MP with H5973 me saw H7200 VQQ3MP not H3808 NADV the vision H4759 ; but H61 a great H1419 quaking H2731 fell H5307 upon H5921 PREP-3MP them , so that they fled H1272 to hide themselves H2244 .

9 Yet heard H8085 I the voice H6963 CMS of his words H1697 CMP-3MS : and when I heard H8085 the voice H6963 CMS of his words H1697 CMP-3MS , then was H1961 VQQ1MS I H589 W-PPRO-1MS in a deep sleep H7290 VNPMS on H5921 PREP my face H6440 NMP-1MS , and my face H6440 toward the ground H776 NFS-3FS .
10 And , behold H2009 IJEC , a hand H3027 NFS touched H5060 VQQ3FS me , which set H5128 me upon H5921 PREP my knees H1290 and upon the palms H3709 of my hands H3027 .
11 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-1MS me , O Daniel H1840 , a man H376 NMS greatly beloved H2530 , understand H995 the words H1697 that H834 RPRO I H595 PPRO-1MS speak H1696 unto H413 PREP-2MS thee , and stand H5975 upright H5977 : for H3588 CONJ unto H413 PREP-2MS thee am I now H6258 ADV sent H7971 . 12 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS he unto H413 PREP-1MS me , Fear H3372 not H408 NPAR , Daniel H1840 : for H3588 CONJ from H4480 PREP the first H7223 day H3117 D-AMS that H834 RPRO thou didst set H5414 thine heart H3820 CMS-2MS to understand H995 L-VHFC , and to chasten thyself H6031 before H6440 L-CMP thy God H430 CMP-2MS , thy words H1697 were heard H8085 , and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS am come H935 for thy words H1697 .
13 But the prince H8269 of the kingdom H4438 CFP of Persia H6539 withstood H5975 me one H259 and twenty H6242 days H3117 NMS : but , lo H2009 IJEC , Michael H4317 , one H259 of the chief H7223 princes H8269 , came H935 VQPMS to help H5826 me ; and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS remained H3498 there H8033 ADV with H681 the kings H4428 CMP of Persia H6539 .
14 Now I am come H935 to make thee understand H995 what H834 RPRO shall befall H7136 thy people H5971 in the latter H319 days H3117 D-NMP : for H3588 CONJ yet H5750 ADV the vision H2377 is for many days H3117 .
15 And when he had spoken H1696 such H428 D-DPRO-3MP words H1697 unto H5973 me , I set H5414 VQQ1MS my face H6440 CMP-1MS toward the ground H776 NFS-3FS , and I became dumb H481 .
16 And , behold H2009 IJEC , one like the similitude H1823 of the sons H1121 of men H120 NMS touched H5060 my lips H8193 : then I opened H6605 my mouth H6310 , and spoke H1696 , and said H559 unto H413 PREP him that stood H5975 before H5048 me , O my lord H113 , by the vision H4758 my sorrows H6735 are turned H2015 upon H5921 PREP me , and I have retained H6113 no H3808 W-NPAR strength H3581 .
17 For how H1963 can H3201 VQY3MS the servant H5650 NMS of this H2088 DPRO my lord H113 talk H1696 with H5973 PREP this H2088 DPRO my lord H113 ? for as for me H589 W-PPRO-1MS , straightway H6258 there remained H5975 no H3808 ADV strength H3581 NMS in me , neither H3808 NADV is there breath H5397 left H7604 in me .
18 Then there came again H3584 and touched H5060 W-VQY3MS me one like the appearance H4758 of a man H120 NMS , and he strengthened H2388 me ,
19 And said H559 W-VQY3MS , O man H376 NMS greatly beloved H2530 , fear H3372 not H408 NPAR : peace H7965 NMS be unto thee , be strong H2388 , yea , be strong H2388 . And when he had spoken H1696 unto H5973 me , I was strengthened H2388 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Let my lord H113 speak H1696 VPY3MS ; for H3588 CONJ thou hast strengthened H2388 me .
20 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS he , Knowest H3045 I-VQQ2MS thou wherefore H4100 L-IPRO I come H935 unto H413 PREP-2MS thee ? and now H6258 W-ADV will I return H7725 VQY1MS to fight H3898 with H5973 PREP the prince H8269 of Persia H6539 : and when I H589 W-PPRO-1MS am gone forth H3318 , lo H2009 IJEC , the prince H8269 of Greece H3120 EMS shall come H935 .
21 But H61 I will show H5046 VHY3MS thee that which is noted H7559 in the Scripture H3791 of truth H571 CFS : and there is none H369 W-NPAR that holdeth H2388 with H5973 me in H5921 PREP these things H428 PMP , but H518 PART Michael H4317 your prince H8269 .
