Hosea 7:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria. For they have worked falsehood. And the thief comes in, the troop of robbers plunders outside.
2 And they do not say within their hearts that I remember all their evil. Now their own doings have hemmed them in; they are before My face.
3 They make the king glad with their evil, and the rulers with their lies.
4 They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker; he stops stirring, from kneading the dough, while it is leavened.
5 In the day of our king, the rulers have sickened themselves with the heat of wine. He stretches out his hand with scorners.
6 For they have brought their heart near like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps at night; in the morning it burns like a flaming fire.
7 They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen; there is none among them who calls to Me.
8 Ephraim mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
9 Strangers have eaten up his strength, and he does not know. Yea, gray hairs are here and there on him, yet he knows it not.
10 And the pride of Israel testifies to his face. And they do not return to Jehovah their God, nor seek Him in all this.
11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart; they call to Egypt; they go to Assyria.
12 When they go, I will spread My net on them; I will bring them down like the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as a report to their congregation.
13 Woe to them! For they have fled from Me. Ruin to them! Because they have sinned against Me. Though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against Me.
14 And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they howled on their beds; they gather themselves for grain and wine, and they rebel against Me.
15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet they think evil against Me.
16 They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a deceitful bow; their rulers shall fall by the sword from the rage of their tongue. This shall be their scorn in the land of Egypt.

2 And they consider H559 not H1077 in their hearts H3824 that I remember H2142 VQQ1MS all H3605 NMS their wickedness H7451 CFS-3MP : now H6258 ADV their own doings H4611 have beset them about H5437 ; they are H1961 before H5048 my face H6440 NMP-1MS .
3 They make the king glad H8055 with their wickedness H7451 , and the princes H8269 with their lies H3585 .
4 They are all H3605 CMS-3MP adulterers H5003 , as H3644 PREP an oven H8574 heated H1197 by H4480 the baker H644 , who ceaseth H7673 from raising H5782 after he hath kneaded H3888 the dough H1217 , until H5704 PREP it be leavened H2556 .
5 In the day H3117 NMS of our king H4428 the princes H8269 NMP have made him sick H2470 with bottles H2534 of wine H3196 ; he stretched out H4900 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS with H854 PREP scorners H3945 .
6 For H3588 CONJ they have made ready H7126 their heart H3820 CMS-3MP like an oven H8574 , while they lie in wait H693 : their baker H644 sleepeth H3463 all H3605 NMS the night H3915 D-AMS ; in the morning H1242 NMS it H1931 PPRO-3MS burneth H1197 as a flaming H3852 fire H784 .
7 They are all hot H2552 as an oven H8574 , and have devoured H398 their judges H8199 ; all H3605 NMS their kings H4428 are fallen H5307 : there is none H369 NPAR among them that calleth H7121 VQPMS unto H413 me .
8 Ephraim H669 , he H1931 PPRO-3MS hath mixed himself H1101 among the people H5971 ; Ephraim H669 is H1961 VQQ3MS a cake H5692 not H1097 ADV turned H2015 .
9 Strangers H2114 have devoured H398 his strength H3581 CMS-3MS , and he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS knoweth H3045 it not H3808 NADV : yea H1571 CONJ , gray hairs H7872 are here and there H2236 upon him , yet he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS knoweth H3045 not H3808 NADV .
10 And the pride H1347 of Israel H3478 testifieth H6030 to his face H6440 : and they do not H3808 W-NPAR return H7725 VQQ3MP to H413 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS their God H430 , nor H3808 W-NPAR seek H1245 him for all H3605 B-CMS this H2063 .
11 Ephraim H669 also is H1961 W-VQY3MS like a silly H6601 dove H3123 without H369 NPAR heart H3820 NMS : they call H7121 to Egypt H4714 EFS , they go H1980 to Assyria H804 GFS .
12 When H834 K-RPRO they shall go H1980 , I will spread H6566 my net H7568 upon H5921 PREP-3MP them ; I will bring them down H3381 as the fowls H5775 of the heaven H8064 D-NMD ; I will chastise H3256 them , as their congregation H5712 hath heard H8088 .
13 Woe H188 unto them ! for H3588 CONJ they have fled H5074 from H4480 M-PREP-1MS me : destruction H7701 unto them ! because H3588 CONJ they have transgressed H6586 against me : though I H595 W-PPRO-1MS have redeemed H6299 them , yet they H1992 have spoken H1696 lies H3577 against H5921 PREP-1MS me .
14 And they have not H3808 W-NPAR cried H2199 unto H413 PREP-1MS me with their heart H3820 , when H3588 CONJ they howled H3213 upon H5921 PREP their beds H4904 : they assemble themselves H1481 for H5921 PREP corn H1715 and wine H8492 , and they rebel H5493 against me .
15 Though I H589 W-PPRO-1MS have bound H3256 and strengthened H2388 their arms H2220 , yet do they imagine H2803 mischief H7451 AMS against H413 W-PREP-1MS me .
16 They return H7725 , but not H3808 NPAR to the most High H5920 : they are H1961 VQQ3MP like a deceitful H7423 bow H7198 : their princes H8269 shall fall H5307 by the sword H2719 for the rage H2195 of their tongue H3956 : this H2097 shall be their derision H3933 in the land H776 B-GFS of Egypt H4714 .
