Acts 3:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 And on the same day Peter and John went up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man, who was lame from his mother's womb, was being carried. And they laid him daily at that temple gate which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered into the temple.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms.
4 And fastening his eyes on him, Peter with John said, Look on us!
5 And he paid heed to them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!
7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. And immediately his feet and ankle-bones received strength.
8 And leaping up, he stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 And they recognized him, that it was him who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 And as the lame one who was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
12 And seeing this, Peter answered the people, Men, Israelites, why do you marvel at this? Or why do you stare at us, as though we had made this man to walk by our own power or holiness?
13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His son Jesus, whom you delivered up, denying Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let Him go.
14 But you denied the Holy and Just One and desired a murderer to be given to you.
15 And you killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, this one whom you see and know, His name made firm. And the faith which came through Him has given him this perfect soundness before you.
17 And now, brothers, I know that you did it through ignorance, as also your rulers did.
18 But those things which God before had shown by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He fulfilled in this manner.
19 Therefore repent and convert so that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 And He shall send Jesus Christ, who before was proclaimed to you,
21 whom Heaven truly needs to receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet to you from your brothers, One like me. You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He may say to you.
23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be destroyed from among the people."
24 And also all the prophets from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in your Seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed."
26 Having raised up His son Jesus, God sent Him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you away from his iniquities.

2 And G2532 CONJ a certain G5100 X-NSM man G435 N-NSM lame G5560 A-NSM from G1537 PREP his G848 mother G3384 N-GSF \'s womb G2836 N-GSF was carried G941 V-IPI-3S , whom G3739 R-ASM they laid G5087 V-IAI-3P daily G2596 PREP at G4314 PREP the G3588 T-ASF gate G2374 N-ASF of G3588 T-GSN the G3588 T-GSN temple G2411 N-GSN which is called G3004 V-PPP-ASF Beautiful G5611 A-ASF , to ask G154 V-PAN alms G1654 N-ASF of G3588 T-GPM them that entered G1531 V-PNP-GPM into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASN temple G2411 N-ASN ;
3 Who G3739 R-NSM seeing G1492 V-2AAP-NSM Peter G4074 N-ASM and G2532 CONJ John G2491 N-ASM about G3195 V-PAP-APM to go G1524 V-PXN into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASN temple G2411 N-ASN asked G2065 V-IAI-3S an G2983 alms G1654 N-ASF .
4 And G1161 CONJ Peter G4074 N-NSM , fastening his eyes G816 V-AAP-NSM upon G1519 PREP him G846 P-ASM with G4862 PREP John G2491 N-DSM , said G2036 V-2AAI-3S , Look G991 V-AAM-2S on G1519 PREP us G2248 P-1AP .
5 And G1161 CONJ he G3588 T-NSM gave heed G1907 V-IAI-3S unto them G846 P-DPM , expecting G4328 V-PAP-NSM to receive G2983 V-2AAN something G5100 X-ASN of G3844 PREP them G846 P-GPM .
6 Then G1161 CONJ Peter G4074 N-NSM said G2036 V-2AAI-3S , Silver G694 N-ASN and G2532 CONJ gold G5553 N-ASN have G5225 V-PAI-3S I G3427 P-1DS none G3756 PRT-N ; but G1161 CONJ such G3739 R-ASN as I have G2192 V-PAI-1S give G1325 V-PAI-1S I thee G4671 P-2DS : In G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSN name G3686 N-DSN of Jesus G2424 N-GSM Christ G5547 N-GSM of Nazareth G3480 N-GSM rise up G1453 V-AMM-2S and G2532 CONJ walk G4043 V-PAM-2S .
7 And G2532 CONJ he took G4084 V-AAP-NSM him G846 P-ASM by the G3588 T-GSF right G1188 A-GSF hand G5495 N-GSF , and lifted him up G1453 V-AAI-3S : and G1161 CONJ immediately G3916 ADV his G3588 T-NPF feet G939 N-NPF and G2532 CONJ ankle bones G4974 N-NPN received strength G4732 V-API-3P .
8 And G2532 CONJ he leaping up G1814 V-PNP-NSM stood G2476 V-2AAI-3S , and G2532 CONJ walked G4043 V-IAI-3S , and G2532 CONJ entered G1525 V-2AAI-3S with G4862 PREP them G846 P-DPM into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASN temple G2411 N-ASN , walking G4043 V-PAP-NSM , and G2532 CONJ leaping G242 V-PNP-NSM , and G2532 CONJ praising G134 V-PAP-NSM God G2316 N-ASM .
9 And G2532 CONJ all G3956 A-NSM the G3588 T-NSM people G2992 N-NSM saw G1492 V-2AAI-3S him G846 P-ASM walking G4043 V-PAP-ASM and G2532 CONJ praising G134 V-PAP-ASM God G2316 N-ASM :
10 And G5037 PRT they knew G1921 V-IAI-3P that G3754 CONJ it was G2258 V-IXI-3S he G3778 D-NSM which G3588 T-NSM sat G2521 V-PNP-NSM for G3588 T-ASF alms G1654 N-ASF at G1909 PREP the G3588 T-DSF Beautiful G5611 A-DSF gate G4439 N-DSF of G3588 T-GSN the G3588 T-GSN temple G2411 N-GSN : and G2532 CONJ they were filled G4130 V-API-3P with wonder G2285 N-GSN and G2532 CONJ amazement G1611 N-GSF at G1909 PREP that which had happened G4819 V-RAP-DSN unto him G846 P-ASM .
11 And G1161 CONJ as the G3588 T-GSM lame man G5560 A-GPM which was healed G2390 V-APP-GSM held G2902 V-PAP-GSM Peter G4074 N-ASM and G2532 CONJ John G2491 N-ASM , all G3956 A-NSM the G3588 T-NSM people G2992 N-NSM ran together G4936 V-2AAI-3S unto G4314 PREP them G846 P-APM in G1909 PREP the G3588 T-DSF porch G4745 N-DSF that is called G2564 V-PPP-DSF Solomon G4672 N-GSM \'s , greatly wondering G1569 A-NPM .
12 And G1161 CONJ when Peter G4074 N-NSM saw G1492 V-2AAP-NSM it , he answered G611 V-ADI-3S unto G4314 PREP the G3588 T-ASM people G2992 N-ASM , Ye men G435 N-VPM of Israel G2475 N-VPM , why G5101 I-ASN marvel G2296 V-PAI-2P ye G1909 PREP at this G5129 D-DSN ? or G2228 PRT why G5101 I-ASN look ye so earnestly G816 V-PAI-2P on us G2254 P-1DP , as though G5613 ADV by our own G2398 A-DSF power G1411 N-DSF or G2228 PRT holiness G2150 N-DSF we had made G4160 V-RAP-DPM this G3588 T-GSM man G846 P-ASM to walk G4043 V-PAN ?
13 The G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM of Abraham G11 N-PRI , and G2532 CONJ of Isaac G2464 N-PRI , and G2532 CONJ of Jacob G2384 N-PRI , the G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM of G3588 T-GPM our G3588 T-GPM fathers G3962 N-GPM , hath glorified G1392 V-AAI-3S his G3588 T-ASM Son G3816 N-ASM Jesus G2424 N-ASM ; whom G3739 R-ASM ye G5210 P-2NP delivered up G3860 V-AAI-2P , and G2532 CONJ denied G720 V-ADI-2P him G846 P-GSM in the presence G4383 N-ASN of Pilate G4091 N-GSM , when he G1565 D-GSM was determined G2919 V-AAP-GSM to let him go G630 V-PAN .
14 But G1161 CONJ ye G5210 P-2NP denied G720 V-ADI-2P the G3588 T-ASM Holy One G40 A-ASM and G2532 CONJ the Just G1342 A-ASM , and G2532 CONJ desired G154 V-AMI-2P a G435 N-ASM murderer G5406 N-ASM to be granted G5483 V-APN unto you G5213 P-2DP ;
15 And G1161 CONJ killed G615 V-AAI-2P the G3588 T-ASM Prince G747 N-ASM of life G2222 N-GSF , whom G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM hath raised G1453 V-AAI-3S from G1537 PREP the dead G3498 A-GPM ; whereof G3739 R-GSN we G2249 P-1NP are G2070 V-PXI-1P witnesses G3144 N-NPM .
16 And G2532 CONJ his G3588 T-GSN name G3686 N-GSN through G1909 PREP faith G4102 N-DSF in his G3588 T-NSN name G3686 N-NSN hath made this man strong G4732 V-AAI-3S , whom G3739 R-ASM ye see G2334 V-PAI-2P and G2532 CONJ know G1492 V-RAI-2P : yea G2532 CONJ , the G3588 T-NSF faith G4102 N-NSF which G3588 T-NSF is by G1223 PREP him G846 P-GSM hath given G1325 V-AAI-3S him G846 P-DSM this G3588 T-ASF perfect soundness G3647 N-ASF in the presence G561 ADV of you G5216 P-2GP all G3956 A-GPM .
17 And G2532 CONJ now G3568 ADV , brethren G80 N-VPM , I wot G1492 V-RAI-1S that G3754 CONJ through G2596 PREP ignorance G52 N-ASF ye did G4238 V-AAI-2P it , as G5618 ADV did also G2532 CONJ your G3588 T-NPM rulers G758 N-NPM .
18 But G1161 CONJ those things G3739 R-APN , which God G2316 N-NSM before had showed G4293 V-AAI-3S by G1223 PREP the mouth G4750 N-GSN of all G3956 A-GPM his G3588 T-GPM prophets G4396 N-GPM , that Christ G5547 N-ASM should suffer G3958 V-2AAN , he hath so G3779 ADV fulfilled G4137 V-AAI-3S .
19 Repent G3340 V-AAM-2P ye therefore G3767 CONJ , and G2532 CONJ be converted G1994 V-AAM-2P , that G3588 T-APF your G3588 T-APF sins G266 N-APF may be blotted out G1813 V-APN , when G3704 ADV the times G2540 N-NPM of refreshing G403 N-GSF shall come G2064 V-2AAS-3P from G575 PREP the presence G4383 N-GSN of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM Lord G2962 N-GSM ;
20 And G2532 CONJ he shall send G649 V-AAS-3S Jesus G2424 N-ASM Christ G5547 N-ASM , which before was preached G4296 unto you G5213 P-2DP :
21 Whom G3739 R-ASM the heaven G3772 N-ASM must G1163 V-PQI-3S receive G1209 V-ADN until G891 PREP the times G5550 N-GPM of restitution G605 N-GSF of all things G3956 A-GPN , which G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM hath spoken G2980 V-AAI-3S by G1223 PREP the mouth G4750 N-GSN of all G3956 A-GPM his G3588 T-GPM holy G40 A-GPM prophets G4396 N-GPM since the world began G575 PREP .
22 For G1063 CONJ Moses G3475 N-NSM truly G3303 PRT said G2036 V-2AAI-3S unto G4314 PREP the G3588 T-APM fathers G3962 N-APM , A prophet G4396 N-ASM shall the Lord G2962 N-NSM your G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM raise up G450 V-FAI-3S unto you G5213 P-2DP of G1537 PREP your G3588 T-GPM brethren G80 N-GPM , like unto G5613 ADV me G1691 P-1AS ; him G846 P-GSM shall ye hear G191 V-FDI-2P in G2596 PREP all things G3956 A-APN whatsoever G3745 K-APN he shall say G2980 V-AAS-3S unto G4314 PREP you G5209 P-2AP .
23 And G1161 CONJ it shall come to pass G2071 V-FXI-3S , that every G3956 A-NSF soul G5590 N-NSF , which G3748 R-NSF will not G3361 PRT-N hear G191 V-AAS-3S that G3588 T-GSM prophet G4396 N-GSM , shall be destroyed G1842 V-FPI-3S from G1537 PREP among the G3588 T-GSM people G2992 N-GSM .
24 Yea G1161 CONJ , and G2532 CONJ all G3956 A-NPM the G3588 T-NPM prophets G4396 N-NPM from G575 PREP Samuel G4545 N-PRI and G2532 CONJ those that follow after G2517 ADV , as many as G3745 K-NPM have spoken G2980 V-AAI-3P , have likewise G2532 CONJ foretold G4293 of G3588 T-APF these G3588 T-APF days G2250 N-APF .
25 Ye G5210 P-2NP are G2075 V-PXI-2P the children G5207 N-NPM of G3588 T-GPM the G3588 T-GPM prophets G4396 N-GPM , and G2532 CONJ of G3588 T-GSF the G3588 T-GSF covenant G1242 N-GSF which G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM made G1303 V-2AMI-3S with G4314 PREP our G3588 T-APM fathers G3962 N-APM , saying G3004 V-PAP-NSM unto G4314 PREP Abraham G11 N-PRI , And G2532 CONJ in thy G3588 T-DSN seed G4690 N-DSN shall all G3956 A-NPF the G3588 T-NPF kindreds G3965 N-NPF of G3588 T-GSF the G3588 T-GSF earth G1093 N-GSF be blessed G1757 V-FPI-3P .
26 Unto you G5213 P-2DP first G4412 ADV God G2316 N-NSM , having raised up G450 V-AAP-NSM his G3588 T-ASM Son G3816 N-ASM Jesus G2424 N-ASM , sent G649 V-AAI-3S him G846 P-GSM to bless G2127 V-PAP-ASM you G5209 P-2AP , in turning away G654 V-PAN every one G1538 A-ASM of you from G575 PREP his G3588 T-GPF iniquities G4189 N-GPF .
