1 And now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I teach you, in order to do them, so that you may live and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your fathers gives you.

2 You shall not add to the Word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, so that you may keep the commands of Jehovah your God which I command you.

3 Your eyes have seen what Jehovah did because of Baal-peor. For Jehovah your God has destroyed from among you all the men that followed Baal-peor.

4 And you who held fast to Jehovah your God are alive, every one of you, this day.

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, so that you should do so in the land where you go to possess it.

6 And you shall keep and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

7 For who is a great nation whose God is coming near to them, as Jehovah our God is, in all our calling on Him?

8 And who is a great nation whose statutes and judgments are so righteous as all this Law which I set before you today?

9 Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul carefully, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. But teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons.

10 Remember the day that you stood before Jehovah your God in Horeb, when Jehovah said to me, Gather the people to Me, and I will make them hear My Words so that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and they may teach their sons.

11 And you came near and stood under the mountain. And the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

12 And Jehovah spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the voice of the words, but saw no likeness, only a voice.

13 And He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, ten commandments. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

14 And Jehovah commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments so that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it.

15 Therefore take good heed to yourselves, for you saw no kind of likeness on the day Jehovah spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

16 lest you act corruptly and make yourselves a graven image, the likeness of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 the likeness of any beast on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air,

18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish in the waters beneath the earth;

19 and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, lest you should be driven to worship them and serve them, which Jehovah your God has allotted to all nations under all the heavens.

20 But Jehovah has taken you and brought you out from the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to Him a people of inheritance, as you are today.

21 And Jehovah was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in to that good land which Jehovah your God gives you for an inheritance.

22 But I must die in this land; I must not go over Jordan. But you shall go over and possess that good land.

23 Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He made with you, and make you a graven image, a likeness of anything which Jehovah your God has forbidden you.

24 For Jehovah your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

25 When you father sons and sons of sons, and when you shall have remained long in the land and have dealt corruptly by making a graven image, the likeness of anything, and shall do evil in the sight of Jehovah your God, to provoke Him to anger,

26 I call Heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land which you are crossing over Jordan to possess. You shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 And Jehovah shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where Jehovah shall drive you.

28 And there you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.

29 But if you shall seek Jehovah your God from there, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

30 When you are in trouble and when all these things have found you in the latter days, then you shall return to Jehovah your God and shall be obedient to His voice.

31 For Jehovah your God is a merciful God; He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

32 For ask now of the days past which were before you, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and from the one end of the heavens to the other end of the heavens, where there has been a thing as great as this, or has been heard any like it.

33 Did people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire as you have heard and live?

34 Or has God gone forth to take a nation for Himself from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 It was shown to you so that you might know that Jehovah is God, and no one else beside Him.

36 He made you hear His voice out of Heaven so that He might teach you. And He showed you His great fire upon earth. And you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.

37 And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their seed after them, and brought you out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt,

38 in order to drive out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

39 Therefore, know this day and consider within your heart, that Jehovah is God in Heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no other.

40 Therefore, you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you this day, so that it may go well with you and with your sons after you, and so that you may make your days longer upon the earth which Jehovah your God gives you forever.

41 Then Moses separated three cities on this side Jordan towards the sunrise,

42 so that the slayer might flee there, he who should kill his neighbor through error and who did not hate him in times past, and he fleeing to one of these cities might live.

43 They were Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, for the Manassites.

44 And this is the Law which Moses set before the sons of Israel.

45 These are the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which Moses spoke to the sons of Israel after they came forth out of Egypt,

46 beyond Jordan, in the valley over against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the sons of Israel killed, after they had come forth out of Egypt.

47 And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, who were on this side Jordan toward the sunrise,

48 from Aroer, on the edge of the river Arnon, even to Mount Zion, which is Hermon,

49 and all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even to the sea of the plain, under the Slopes of Pisgah.

3 Your eyes ^H5869 ^CMP-2MP have seen ^H7200 what ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS did ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS because of Baal ^H1187 - peor : for ^H3588 ^CONJ all ^H3605 ^CMS the men ^H376 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO followed ^H1980 ^VQQ3MS Baal ^H1187 - peor , the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS hath destroyed ^H8045 ^VHFA-3MS them from among ^H7130 you .

4 But ye ^H859 ^W-PPRO-2MP that did cleave ^H1695 unto the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430 are alive ^H2416 ^NMP every one ^H3605 ^CMS-2MP of you this day ^H3117 ^D-NMS .

5 Behold ^H7200 ^VQI2MS , I have taught ^H3925 you statutes ^H2706 and judgments ^H4941 , even as ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS my God ^H430 commanded ^H6680 me , that ye should do ^H6213 ^L-VQFC so ^H3651 ^ADV in ^H7130 the land ^H776 ^D-GFS whither ^H834 ^RPRO ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS go ^H935 to possess ^H3423 it .

6 Keep ^H8104 therefore and do ^H6213 them ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ this ^H1931 ^PPRO-3FS is your wisdom ^H2451 and your understanding ^H998 in the sight ^H5869 of the nations ^H5971 , which ^H834 ^RPRO shall hear ^H8085 all ^H3605 ^NMS these ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP statutes ^H2706 , and say ^H559 ^W-VQQ3MP , Surely ^H7535 ^ADV this ^H2088 ^D-PMS great ^H1419 ^D-AMS nation ^H1471 is a wise ^H2450 ^AMS and understanding ^H995 ^W-VNPMS people ^H5971 ^NMS .

7 For ^H3588 ^CONJ what ^H4310 ^IPRO nation ^H1471 is there so great ^H1419 ^AMS , who ^H834 ^RPRO hath God ^H430 ^EDP so nigh ^H7138 unto ^H413 ^PREP-3MS them , as the LORD ^H3068 our God ^H430 ^NAME-4MP is in all ^H3605 things that we call ^H7121 upon ^H413 him for ?

15 Take ye therefore good heed ^H8104 unto yourselves ^H5315 ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ ye saw ^H7200 no ^H3808 ^NADV manner ^H3605 ^NMS of similitude ^H8544 ^NFS on the day ^H3117 ^B-NMS that the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS spoke ^H1696 ^VPQ3MS unto ^H413 you in Horeb ^H2722 out of the midst ^H8432 of the fire ^H784 :

16 Lest ^H6435 ^CONJ ye corrupt ^H7843 yourselves , and make ^H6213 you a graven image ^H6459 , the similitude ^H8544 of any ^H3605 ^NMS figure ^H5566 , the likeness ^H8403 of male ^H2145 ^NMS or ^H176 ^CONJ female ^H5347 ,

17 The likeness ^H8403 of any ^H3605 ^NMS beast ^H929 ^NFS that ^H834 ^RPRO is on the earth ^H776 ^B-NFS , the likeness ^H8403 of any ^H3605 ^NMS winged ^H3671 ^GFS fowl ^H6833 ^CMS that ^H834 ^RPRO flieth ^H5774 in the air ^H8064 ,

18 The likeness ^H8403 of any thing ^H3605 ^NMS that creepeth ^H7430 ^VQPMS on the ground ^H127 , the likeness ^H8403 of any ^H3605 ^NMS fish ^H1710 that ^H834 ^RPRO is in the waters ^H4325 ^BD-NMP beneath ^H8478 ^M-CFS the earth ^H776 :

23 Take heed ^H8104 unto yourselves , lest ^H6435 ye forget ^H7911 the covenant ^H1285 ^NFS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS your God ^H430 , which ^H834 ^RPRO he made ^H3772 with ^H5973 ^PREP-3MP you , and make ^H6213 you a graven image ^H6459 , or the likeness ^H8544 of any ^H3605 ^NMS thing , which ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 hath forbidden ^H6680 thee .

24 For ^H3588 ^CONJ the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS is a consuming ^H398 fire ^H784 ^CMS , even a jealous ^H7067 God ^H410 ^EDS .

25 When ^H3588 ^CONJ thou shalt beget ^H3205 children ^H1121 ^NMP , and children ^H1121 ^W-CMP \'s children ^H1121 ^NMP , and ye shall have remained long ^H3462 in the land ^H776 ^B-NFS , and shall corrupt ^H7843 yourselves , and make ^H6213 a graven image ^H6459 , or the likeness ^H8544 of any ^H3605 ^NMS thing , and shall do ^H6213 evil ^H7451 in the sight ^H5869 ^B-CMP of the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS , to provoke him to anger ^H3707 :

27 And the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS shall scatter ^H6327 you among the nations ^H5971 , and ye shall be left ^H7604 few ^H4962 ^CMP in number ^H4557 ^NMS among the heathen ^H1471 , whither ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS shall lead ^H5090 you .

28 And there ^H8033 ^ADV ye shall serve ^H5647 gods ^H430 ^EDP , the work ^H4639 ^M-CMS of men ^H120 ^NMS \'s hands ^H3027 ^CFD , wood ^H6086 ^NMS and stone ^H68 , which ^H834 ^RPRO neither ^H3808 ^ADV see ^H7200 , nor ^H3808 ^W-NADV hear ^H8085 , nor ^H3808 ^W-NADV eat ^H398 , nor ^H3808 ^W-NADV smell ^H7306 .

29 But if from thence ^H8033 ^M-ADV thou shalt seek ^H1245 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS , thou shalt find ^H4672 him , if ^H3588 ^CONJ thou seek ^H1875 him with all ^H3605 ^B-CMS thy heart ^H3824 and with all ^H3605 ^WB-CMS thy soul ^H5315 .

30 When thou art in tribulation ^H6862 , and all ^H3605 ^NMS these ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP things ^H1697 ^AMP are come ^H4672 upon thee , even in the latter ^H319 days ^H3117 ^D-NMP , if thou turn ^H7725 to ^H5704 ^PREP the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS , and shalt be obedient ^H8085 unto his voice ^H6963 ;

31 ( ^CONJ For ^CONJ the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS thy God ^H430 ^CMP-2MS is a merciful ^H7349 God ^H410 ^EDS ; ) ^EDS he will not ^H3808 ^NADV forsake ^H7503 thee , neither ^H3808 ^W-NADV destroy ^H7843 thee , nor ^H3808 ^W-NADV forget ^H7911 the covenant ^H1285 ^NFS of thy fathers ^H1 which ^H834 ^RPRO he swore ^H7650 unto them .

32 For ^H3588 ^CONJ ask ^H7592 ^VQI2MS now ^H4994 ^IJEC of the days ^H3117 ^L-NMP that are past ^H7223 , which ^H834 ^RPRO were ^H1961 ^VQQ3MP before ^H6440 ^L-CMP-2MS thee , since ^H4480 the day ^H3117 ^D-AMS that ^H834 ^RPRO God ^H430 ^EDP created ^H1254 ^VQQ3MS man ^H120 ^NMS upon ^H5921 ^PREP the earth ^H776 ^D-GFS , and ask from the one side ^H7097 of heaven ^H8064 ^D-NMD unto ^H5704 ^W-PREP the other ^H7097 , whether there hath been ^H1961 any such thing as this ^H2088 ^D-PMS great ^H1419 ^D-AMS thing ^H1697 is , or ^H176 ^CONJ hath been heard ^H8085 like it ^H3644 ?

33 Did ever people ^H5971 ^NMS hear ^H8085 ^VQQ2MS the voice ^H6963 ^CMS of God ^H430 ^EDP speaking ^H1696 ^VPPMS out of the midst ^H8432 of the fire ^H784 , as ^H834 ^K-RPRO thou ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS hast heard ^H8085 ^VQQ2MS , and live ^H2421 ?

34 Or ^H176 ^CONJ hath God ^H430 ^EDP attempted ^H5254 I-VPQ3MS to go ^H935 ^L-VQFC and take ^H3947 ^L-VQFC him a nation ^H1471 from the midst ^H7130 of another nation ^H1471 ^NMS , by temptations ^H4531 , by signs ^H226 , and by wonders ^H4159 , and by war ^H4421 ^WB-NFS , and by a mighty ^H2389 hand ^H3027 , and by a stretched out ^H5186 arm ^H2220 , and by great ^H1419 ^AMP terrors ^H4172 , according to all ^H3605 ^K-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS your God ^H430 ^NAME-4MP did ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS for you in Egypt ^H4714 before your eyes ^H5869 ?

35 Unto thee ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS it was showed ^H7200 , that thou mightest know ^H3045 ^L-VQFC that ^H3588 ^CONJ the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is God ^H430 ^D-EDP ; there is none ^H369 ^NPAR else ^H5750 ^ADV beside ^H905 him .

36 Out of ^H4480 ^PREP heaven ^H8064 ^D-NMD he made thee to hear ^H8085 ^VQQ2MS his voice ^H6963 ^CMS-3MS , that he might instruct ^H3256 thee : and upon ^H5921 ^W-PREP earth ^H776 ^D-GFS he showed ^H7200 thee his great ^H1419 ^D-AFS fire ^H784 ; and thou heardest ^H8085 ^VQQ2MS his words ^H1697 ^W-CMP-3MS out of the midst ^H8432 of the fire ^H784 .

37 And because ^H8478 he loved ^H157 thy fathers ^H1 , therefore he chose ^H977 ^W-VQY3MS their seed ^H2233 after ^H310 ^PREP-3MS them , and brought thee out ^H3318 in his sight ^H6440 with his mighty ^H1419 ^D-AMS power ^H3581 ^B-CMS-3MS out of Egypt ^H4714 ;
