Revelation 17:1 (MKJV) Modern King James Version

1 And one of the seven angels who had the seven vials came and talked with me, saying to me, Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot sitting on many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and became drunk with the wine of her fornication, those inhabiting the earth.
3 And he carried me away into a desert by the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored beast, filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet. And she was gilded with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.
5 And on her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with a great marveling.
7 And the angel said to me, Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, that has the seven heads and ten horns.
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend out of the abyss and go into perdition. And those dwelling on the earth will marvel, those whose names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.
10 And there are seven kings; five have fallen, and one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, who have received no kingdom yet, but will receive authority as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them. For He is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those with Him are the called and elect and faithful ones.
15 And he says to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues,
16 and the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked. And they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
17 For God gave into their hearts to do His mind, and to act with one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast until the Words of God will be fulfilled.
18 And the woman whom you saw is the great city which has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

10 And G2532 CONJ there are G1526 V-PXI-3P seven G2033 A-NUI kings G935 N-NPM : five G4002 A-NUI are fallen G4098 V-2AAI-3P , and G2532 CONJ one G1520 A-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S , and the G3588 T-NSM other G243 A-NSM is not yet G3768 ADV come G2064 V-2AAI-3S ; and G2532 CONJ when G3752 CONJ he cometh G2064 V-2AAS-3S , he G846 P-ASM must G1163 V-PQI-3S continue G3306 V-AAN a short space G3641 A-ASN .
11 And G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSN beast G2342 N-NSN that G3739 R-NSN was G2258 V-IXI-3S , and G2532 CONJ is G2076 V-PXI-3S not G3756 PRT-N , even G2532 CONJ he G846 P-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S the eighth G3590 A-NSM , and G2532 CONJ is G2076 V-PXI-3S of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GPM seven G2033 A-NUI , and G2532 CONJ goeth G5217 V-PAI-3S into G1519 PREP perdition G684 N-ASF .
12 And G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NPN ten G1176 A-NUI horns G2768 N-NPN which G3739 R-APN thou sawest G1492 V-2AAI-2S are G1526 V-PXI-3P ten G1176 A-NUI kings G935 N-NPM , which G3748 R-NPM have received G2983 V-2AAI-3P no kingdom as yet G3768 ADV ; but G235 CONJ receive G2983 V-PAI-3P power G1849 N-ASF as G5613 ADV kings G935 N-NPM one G3391 hour G5610 N-ASF with G3326 PREP the G3588 T-GSN beast G2342 N-GSN .
13 These G3778 D-NPM have G2192 V-PAI-3P one G3391 mind G1106 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ shall give G1239 their G3588 T-ASF power G1411 N-ASF and G2532 CONJ strength G1849 N-ASF unto the G3588 T-DSN beast G2342 N-DSN .
14 These G3778 D-NPM shall make war G4170 V-FAI-3P with G3326 PREP the G3588 T-GSN Lamb G721 N-GSN , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSN Lamb G721 N-NSN shall overcome G3528 V-FAI-3S them G846 P-APM : for G3754 CONJ he is G2076 V-PXI-3S Lord G2962 N-NSM of lords G2962 N-GPM , and G2532 CONJ King G935 N-NSM of kings G935 N-GPM : and G2532 CONJ they G3588 T-NPM that are with G3326 PREP him G846 P-GSM are called G2822 A-NPM , and G2532 CONJ chosen G1588 A-NPM , and G2532 CONJ faithful G4103 A-NPF .
15 And G2532 CONJ he saith G3004 V-PAI-3S unto me G3427 P-1DS , The G3588 T-NPN waters G5204 N-NPN which G3739 R-APN thou sawest G1492 V-2AAI-2S , where G3757 ADV the G3588 T-NSF whore G4204 N-NSF sitteth G2521 V-PNI-3S , are G1526 V-PXI-3P peoples G2992 N-NPM , and G2532 CONJ multitudes G3793 N-NPM , and G2532 CONJ nations G1484 N-NPN , and G2532 CONJ tongues G1100 N-NPF .
16 And G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NPN ten G1176 A-NUI horns G2768 N-NPN which G3739 R-APN thou sawest G1492 V-2AAI-2S upon G1909 the G3588 T-NSN beast G2342 N-NSN , these G3778 D-NPM shall hate G3404 V-FAI-3P the G3588 T-ASF whore G4204 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ shall make G4160 V-FAI-3P her G846 P-ASF desolate G2049 V-RPP-ASF and G2532 CONJ naked G1131 A-ASF , and G2532 CONJ shall eat G5315 V-2FDI-3P her G3588 T-APF flesh G4561 N-APF , and G2532 CONJ burn G2618 V-FAI-3P her G846 P-ASF with G1722 PREP fire G4442 N-DSN .
17 For G1063 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM hath put G1325 V-AAI-3S in G1519 PREP their G3588 T-APF hearts G2588 N-APF to fulfill G4160 V-AAN his G3588 T-ASF will G1106 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ to agree G4160 V-AAN , and G2532 CONJ give G1325 V-2AAN their G3588 T-ASF kingdom G932 N-ASF unto the G3588 T-DSN beast G2342 N-DSN , until G891 PREP the G3588 T-APF words G3588 T-GSM of God G2316 N-GSM shall be fulfilled G5055 V-APS-3P .
18 And G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF woman G1135 N-NSF which G3739 R-ASF thou sawest G1492 V-2AAI-2S is G2076 V-PXI-3S that G3588 T-NSF great G3173 A-NSF city G4172 N-NSF , which reigneth G932 N-ASF over G1909 PREP the G3588 T-GPM kings G935 N-GPM of G3588 T-GSF the G3588 T-GSF earth G1093 N-GSF .
