1. It was the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month. It was in the fourteenth year after Jerusalem was captured. On that same day I felt the power of the Lord, and he brought me to Jerusalem.

2. In the visions of God he brought me to the land of Israel and put me down on a very high mountain. On the south of the mountain there were some buildings that looked like a city.

2. In the visions H4759 of God H430 brought H935 he me into H413 the land H776 of Israel H3478 , and set H5117 me upon H413 a very H3966 high H1364 mountain H2022 , by H5921 which was as the frame H4011 of a city H5892 on the south H4480 H5045 .

3. He took me closer to the buildings, and I saw a man who looked as if he were made of bronze, standing in the gateway. He had a cord made of linen and a stick in his hand, both for measuring.

3. And he brought H935 me thither H8033 , and, behold H2009 , there was a man H376 , whose appearance H4758 was like the appearance H4758 of brass H5178 , with a line H6616 of flax H6593 in his hand H3027 , and a measuring H4060 reed H7070 ; and he H1931 stood H5975 in the gate H8179 .

4. The man said to me, "Human, look with your eyes and hear with your ears. Pay attention to all that I will show you, because that's why you have been brought here. Tell the people of Israel all that you see."

5. I saw a wall that surrounded the Temple area. The measuring stick in the man's hand was ten and one-half feet long. So the man measured the wall, which was ten and one-half feet thick and ten and one-half feet high.

And behold H2009 a wall H2346 on the outside H4480 H2351 of the house H1004 round about H5439 H5439 , and in the man H376 's hand H3027 a measuring H4060 reed H7070 of six H8337 cubits H520 long by the cubit H520 and a handbreadth H2948 : so he measured H4058 H853 the breadth H7341 of the building H1146 , one H259 reed H7070 ; and the height H6967 , one H259 reed H7070 .

6. Then the man went to the east gateway. He went up its steps and measured the opening of the gateway. It was ten and one-half feet deep.

7. The rooms for the guards were ten and one-half feet long and ten and one-half feet wide. The walls that came out between the guards' rooms were about nine feet thick. The opening of the gateway next to the porch that faced the Temple was ten and one-half feet deep.

8. Then the man measured the porch of the gateway.
|

9. It was about fourteen feet deep, and its side walls were three and one-half feet thick. The porch of the gateway faced the Temple.

10. On each side of the east gateway were three rooms, which measured the same on each side. The walls between each room were the same thickness.

And the little chambers H8372 of the gate H8179 eastward H1870 H6921 were three H7969 on this side H4480 H6311 , and three H7969 on that side H4480 H6311 ; they three H7969 were of one H259 measure H4060 : and the posts H352 had one H259 measure H4060 on this side H4480 H6311 and on that side H4480 H6311 .

11. The man measured the width of the entrance to the gateway, which was seventeen and one-half feet wide. The width of the gate was about twenty-three feet.

11. And he measured H4058 H853 the breadth H7341 of the entry H6607 of the gate H8179 , ten H6235 cubits H520 ; and the length H753 of the gate H8179 , thirteen H7969 H6240 cubits H520 .

12. And there was a low wall about twenty-one inches high in front of each room. The rooms were ten and one-half feet on each side.

13. The man measured the gateway from the roof of one room to the roof of the opposite room. It was about forty-four feet from one door to the opposite door.

13. He measured H4058 then H853 the gate H8179 from the roof H4480 H1406 of one little chamber H8372 to the roof H1406 of another : the breadth H7341 was five H2568 and twenty H6242 cubits H520 , door H6607 against H5048 door H6607 .

14. The man also measured the porch, which was about thirty-five feet wide. The courtyard was around the porch.

14. He made H6213 also H853 posts H352 of threescore H8346 cubits H520 , even unto H413 the post H352 of the court H2691 round about H5439 H5439 the gate H8179 .

15. From the front of the outer side of the gateway to the front of the porch of the inner side of the gateway was eighty-seven and one-half feet.

15. And from H5921 the face H6440 of the gate H8179 of the entrance H2978 unto H5921 the face H6440 of the porch H197 of the inner H6442 gate H8179 were fifty H2572 cubits H520 .

16. The rooms and porch had small windows on both sides. The windows were narrower on the side facing the gateway. Carvings of palm trees were on each side wall of the rooms.

And there were narrow H331 windows H2474 to H413 the little chambers H8372 , and to H413 their posts H352 within H6441 the gate H8179 round about H5439 H5439 , and likewise H3651 to the porches H361 : and windows H2474 were round about H5439 H5439 inward H6441 : and upon H413 each post H352 were palm trees H8561 .

17. Then the man brought me into the outer courtyard where I saw rooms and a pavement of stones all around the court. Thirty rooms were along the edge of the paved walkway.

17. Then brought H935 he me into H413 the outward H2435 court H2691 , and, lo H2009 , there were chambers H3957 , and a pavement H7531 made H6213 for the court H2691 round about H5439 H5439 : thirty H7970 chambers H3957 were upon H413 the pavement H7531 .

18. The pavement ran alongside the gates and was as deep as the gates were wide. This was the lower pavement.
|
18. And the pavement H7531 by H413 the side H3802 of the gates H8179 over against H5980 the length H753 of the gates H8179 was the lower H8481 pavement H7531 .

19. Then the man measured from the outer wall to the inner wall. The outer court between these two walls was one hundred seventy-five feet on the east and on the north.

19. Then he measured H4058 the breadth H7341 from the forefront H4480 H6440 of the lower H8481 gate H8179 unto the forefront H6440 of the inner H6442 court H2691 without H4480 H2351 , a hundred H3967 cubits H520 eastward H6921 and northward H6828 .

20. The man measured the length and width of the north gateway leading to the outer courtyard.
|
20. And the gate H8179 of the outward H2435 court H2691 that H834 looked H6440 toward H1870 the north H6828 , he measured H4058 the length H753 thereof , and the breadth H7341 thereof.

21. Its three rooms on each side, its inner walls, and its porch measured the same as the first gateway. It was eighty-seven and one-half feet long and forty-four feet wide.

And the little chambers H8372 thereof were three H7969 on this side H4480 H6311 and three H7969 on that side H4480 H6311 ; and the posts H352 thereof and the porches H361 thereof were H1961 after the measure H4060 of the first H7223 gate H8179 : the length H753 thereof was fifty H2572 cubits H520 , and the breadth H7341 five H2568 and twenty H6242 cubits H520 .

22. Its windows, porch, and carvings of palm trees measured the same as the east gateway. Seven steps went up to the gateway, and the gateway's porch was at the inner end.

22. And their windows H2474 , and their porches H361 , and their palm trees H8561 , were after the measure H4060 of the gate H8179 that H834 looketh H6440 toward H1870 the east H6921 ; and they went up H5927 unto it by seven H7651 steps H4609 ; and the porches H361 thereof were before H6440 them.

23. The inner courtyard had a gateway across from the northern gateway like the one on the east. The man measured it and found it was one hundred seventy-five feet from inner gateway to outer gateway.

23. And the gate H8179 of the inner H6442 court H2691 was over against H5048 the gate H8179 toward the north H6828 , and toward the east H6921 ; and he measured H4058 from gate H4480 H8179 to H413 gate H8179 a hundred H3967 cubits H520 .

24. Then the man led me south where I saw a gateway facing south. He measured its inner walls and its porch, and they measured the same as the other gateways.

24. After that he brought H1980 me toward H1870 the south H1864 , and behold H2009 a gate H8179 toward H1870 the south H1864 : and he measured H4058 the posts H352 thereof and the porches H361 thereof according to these H428 measures H4060 .

25. The gateway and its porch had windows all around like the other gateways. It was eighty-seven and one-half feet long and forty-four feet wide.

25. And there were windows H2474 in it and in the porches H361 thereof round about H5439 H5439 , like those H428 windows H2474 : the length H753 was fifty H2572 cubits H520 , and the breadth H7341 five H2568 and twenty H6242 cubits H520 .

26. Seven steps went up to this gateway. Its porch was at the inner end, and it had carvings of palm trees on its inner walls.
|
26. And there were seven H7651 steps H4609 to go up H5930 to it , and the porches H361 thereof were before H6440 them : and it had palm trees H8561 , one H259 on this side H4480 H6311 , and another H259 on that side H4480 H6311 , upon H413 the posts H352 thereof.

27. The inner courtyard had a gateway on its south side. The man measured from gate to gate on the south side, which was one hundred seventy-five feet.

27. And there was a gate H8179 in the inner H6442 court H2691 toward H1870 the south H1864 : and he measured H4058 from gate H4480 H8179 to H413 gate H8179 toward H1870 the south H1864 a hundred H3967 cubits H520 .

28. Then the man brought me through the south gateway into the inner courtyard. The inner south gateway measured the same as the gateways in the outer wall.

28. And he brought H935 me to H413 the inner H6442 court H2691 by the south H1864 gate H8179 : and he measured H4058 H853 the south H1864 gate H8179 according to these H428 measures H4060 ;

29. The inner south gateway's rooms, inner walls, and porch measured the same as the gateways in the outer wall. There were windows all around the gateway and its porch. The gateway was eighty-seven and one-half feet long and forty-four feet wide.

And the little chambers H8372 thereof , and the posts H352 thereof , and the porches H361 thereof , according to these H428 measures H4060 : and there were windows H2474 in it and in the porches H361 thereof round about H5439 H5439 : it was fifty H2572 cubits H520 long H753 , and five H2568 and twenty H6242 cubits H520 broad H7341 .

30. Each porch of each inner gateway was about forty-four feet long and about nine feet wide.

31. The inner south gateway's porch faced the outer courtyard. Carvings of palm trees were on its side walls, and its stairway had eight steps.

31. And the porches H361 thereof were toward H413 the utter H2435 court H2691 ; and palm trees H8561 were upon H413 the posts H352 thereof : and the going up H4608 to it had eight H8083 steps H4609 .

32. The man brought me into the inner courtyard on the east side. He measured the inner east gateway, and it was the same as the other gateways.
|
32. And he brought H935 me into H413 the inner H6442 court H2691 toward H1870 the east H6921 : and he measured H4058 H853 the gate H8179 according to these H428 measures H4060 .

33. The inner east gateway's rooms, inside walls, and porch measured the same as the other gateways. Windows were all around the gateway and its porch. The inner east gateway was eighty-seven and one-half feet long and forty-four feet wide.

And the little chambers H8372 thereof , and the posts H352 thereof , and the porches H361 thereof, were according to these H428 measures H4060 : and there were windows H2474 therein and in the porches H361 thereof round about H5439 H5439 : it was fifty H2572 cubits H520 long H753 , and five H2568 and twenty H6242 cubits H520 broad H7341 .

35. Then the man brought me to the inner north gateway. He measured it, and it was the same as the other gateways.

36. Its rooms, inner walls, and porch measured the same as the other gateways. There were windows all around the gateway, which was eighty-seven and one-half feet long and forty-four feet wide.

37. Its porch faced the outer courtyard. Carvings of palm trees were on its inner walls on each side, and its stairway had eight steps.

37. And the posts H352 thereof were toward the utter H2435 court H2691 ; and palm trees H8561 were upon H413 the posts H352 thereof , on this side H4480 H6311 , and on that side H4480 H6311 : and the going up H4608 to it had eight H8083 steps H4609 .

38. There was a room with a door that opened onto the porch of the inner north gateway. In this room the priests washed animals for the burnt offerings.
|
38. And the chambers H3957 and the entries H6607 thereof were by the posts H352 of the gates H8179 , where H8033 they washed H1740 H853 the burnt offering H5930 .
|
|
39. There were two tables on each side of the porch, on which animals for burnt offerings, sin offerings, and penalty offerings were killed.
|
39. And in the porch H197 of the gate H8179 were two H8147 tables H7979 on this side H4480 H6311 , and two H8147 tables H7979 on that side H4480 H6311 , to slay H7819 thereon H413 the burnt offering H5930 and the sin offering H2403 and the trespass offering H817 .

40. Outside, by each side wall of the porch, at the entrance to the north gateway, were two more tables.
|
40. And at H413 the side H3802 without H4480 H2351 , as one goeth up H5927 to the entry H6607 of the north H6828 gate H8179 , were two H8147 tables H7979 ; and on H413 the other H312 side H3802 , which H834 was at the porch H197 of the gate H8179 , were two H8147 tables H7979 .

41. So there were four tables inside the gateway, and four tables outside. In all there were eight tables on which the priests killed animals for sacrifices.

41. Four H702 tables H7979 were on this side H4480 H6311 , and four H702 tables H7979 on that side H4480 H6311 , by the side H3802 of the gate H8179 ; eight H8083 tables H7979 , whereupon H413 they slew H7819 their sacrifices .

42. There were four tables made of cut stone for the burnt offering. These tables were about three feet long, three feet wide, and about two feet high. On these tables the priests put their tools which they used to kill animals for burnt offerings and the other sacrifices.

42. And the four H702 tables H7979 were of hewn H1496 stone H68 for the burnt offering H5930 , of a H259 cubit H520 and a H259 half H2677 long H753 , and a cubit H520 and a half H2677 broad H7341 , and one H259 cubit H520 high H1363 : whereupon H413 also they laid H5117 H853 the instruments H3627 wherewith H834 they slew H7819 H853 the burnt offering H5930 and the sacrifice H2077 .

43. Double shelves three inches wide were put up on all the walls. The flesh for the offering was put on the tables.

43. And within H1004 were hooks H8240 , a H259 hand broad H2948 , fastened H3559 round about H5439 H5439 : and upon H413 the tables H7979 was the flesh H1320 of the offering H7133 .

44. There were two rooms in the inner courtyard. One was beside the north gateway and faced south. The other room was beside the south gateway and faced north.
|
44. And without H4480 H2351 the inner H6442 gate H8179 were the chambers H3957 of the singers H7891 in the inner H6442 court H2691 , which H834 was at H413 the side H3802 of the north H6828 gate H8179 ; and their prospect H6440 was toward H1870 the south H1864 : one H259 at H413 the side H3802 of the east H6921 gate H8179 having the prospect H6440 toward H1870 the north H6828 .

45. The man said to me, "The room which faces south is for the priests who serve in the Temple area,
|
45. And he said H1696 unto H413 me, This H2090 chamber H3957 , whose H834 prospect H6440 is toward H1870 the south H1864 , is for the priests H3548 , the keepers H8104 of the charge H4931 of the house H1004 .

46. while the room that faces north is for the priests who serve at the altar. This second group of priests are descendants of Zadok, the only descendants of Levi who can come near the Lord to serve him."

46. And the chamber H3957 whose H834 prospect H6440 is toward H1870 the north H6828 is for the priests H3548 , the keepers H8104 of the charge H4931 of the altar H4196 : these H1992 are the sons H1121 of Zadok H6659 among the sons H4480 H1121 of Levi H3878 , which come near H7131 to H413 the LORD H3068 to minister H8334 unto him.

47. The man measured the inner courtyard. It was a square -- one hundred seventy-five feet long and one hundred seventy-five feet wide. The altar was in front of the Temple.

48. The man brought me to the porch of the Temple and measured each side wall of the porch. Each was about nine feet thick. The doorway was twenty-four and one-half feet wide. The side walls of the doorway were each about five feet wide.

And he brought H935 me to H413 the porch H197 of the house H1004 , and measured H4058 each post H352 of the porch H197 , five H2568 cubits H520 on this side H4480 H6311 , and five H2568 cubits H520 on that side H4480 H6311 : and the breadth H7341 of the gate H8179 was three H7969 cubits H520 on this side H4480 H6311 , and three H7969 cubits H520 on that side H4480 H6311 .

49. The porch was thirty-five feet long and twenty-one feet wide, with ten steps leading up to it. Pillars were by the side walls, one on each side of the entrance.
