2. "The Israelites should make their camps around the Meeting Tent, but they should not camp too close to it. They should camp under their family flag and banners."

2. Every man H376 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 shall pitch H2583 by H5921 his own standard H1714 , with the ensign H226 of their father H1 's house H1004 : far off H4480 H5048 about H5439 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 shall they pitch H2583 .

3. The camp of Judah will be on the east side, where the sun rises, and they will camp by divisions there under their flag. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.
|
3. And on the east side H6924 toward the rising of the sun H4217 shall they of the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of Judah H3063 pitch H2583 throughout their armies H6635 : and Nahshon H5177 the son H1121 of Amminadab H5992 shall be captain H5387 of the children H1121 of Judah H3063 .

4. There are 74,600 men in his division.

4. And his host H6635 , and those that were numbered H6485 of them, were threescore and fourteen H702 H7657 thousand H505 and six H8337 hundred H3967 .

5. Next to them the tribe of Issachar will camp. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.

5. And those that do pitch H2583 next unto H5921 him shall be the tribe H4294 of Issachar H3485 : and Nethaneel H5417 the son H1121 of Zuar H6686 shall be captain H5387 of the children H1121 of Issachar H3485 .

6. There are 54,400 men in his division.

7. Next is the tribe of Zebulun. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.

8. There are 57,400 men in his division.

9. There are a total of 186,400 men in the camps of Judah and its neighbors, in all their divisions. They will be the first to march out of camp.

10. The divisions of the camp of Reuben will be on the south side, where they will camp under their flag. The leader of the people of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur.

11. There are 46,500 men in his division.

12. Next to them the tribe of Simeon will camp. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

14. Next is the tribe of Gad. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel.

15. There are 45,650 men in his division.

16. There are a total of 151,450 men in the camps of Reuben and its neighbors, in all their divisions. They will be the second group to march out of camp.

17. When the Levites march out with the Meeting Tent, they will be in the middle of the other camps. The tribes will march out in the same order as they camp, each in its place under its flag.

17. Then the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 shall set forward H5265 with the camp H4264 of the Levites H3881 in the midst H8432 of the camp H4264 : as H834 they encamp H2583 , so H3651 shall they set forward H5265 , every man H376 in H5921 his place H3027 by their standards H1714 .

18. The divisions of the camp of Ephraim will be on the west side, where they will camp under their flag. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.

18. On the west side H3220 shall be the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of Ephraim H669 according to their armies H6635 : and the captain H5387 of the sons H1121 of Ephraim H669 shall be Elishama H476 the son H1121 of Ammihud H5989 .

19. There are 40,500 men in his division.

19. And his host H6635 , and those that were numbered H6485 of them, were forty H705 thousand H505 and five H2568 hundred H3967 .

20. Next to them the tribe of Manasseh will camp. The leader of the people of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

24. There are a total of 108,100 men in the camps of Ephraim and its neighbors, in all their divisions. They will be the third group to march out of camp.

25. The divisions of the camp of Dan will be on the north side, where they will camp under their flag. The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

25. The standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of Dan H1835 shall be on the north side H6828 by their armies H6635 : and the captain H5387 of the children H1121 of Dan H1835 shall be Ahiezer H295 the son H1121 of Ammishaddai H5996 .

26. There are 62,700 men in his division.

26. And his host H6635 , and those that were numbered H6485 of them, were threescore H8346 and two H8147 thousand H505 and seven H7651 hundred H3967 .

27. Next to them the tribe of Asher will camp. The leader of the people of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran.

27. And those that encamp H2583 by H5921 him shall be the tribe H4294 of Asher H836 : and the captain H5387 of the children H1121 of Asher H836 shall be Pagiel H6295 the son H1121 of Ocran H5918 .

28. There are 41,500 men in his division.
|
28. And his host H6635 , and those that were numbered H6485 of them, were forty H705 and one H259 thousand H505 and five H2568 hundred H3967 .

29. Next is the tribe of Naphtali. The leader of the people of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan.

29. Then the tribe H4294 of Naphtali H5321 : and the captain H5387 of the children H1121 of Naphtali H5321 shall be Ahira H299 the son H1121 of Enan H5881 .

|
30. There are 53,400 men in his division.
|

31. There are 157,600 men in the camps of Dan and its neighbors. They will be the last to march out of camp, and they will travel under their own flag.
|
31. All H3605 they that were numbered H6485 in the camp H4264 of Dan H1835 were a hundred H3967 thousand H505 and fifty H2572 and seven H7651 thousand H505 and six H8337 hundred H3967 . They shall go H5265 hindmost H314 with their standards H1714 .

32. These are the Israelites who were counted by fam-ilies. The total number of Israelites in the camps, counted by divisions, is 603,550.
|
32. These H428 are those which were numbered H6485 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 by the house H1004 of their fathers H1 : all H3605 those that were numbered H6485 of the camps H4264 throughout their hosts H6635 were six H8337 hundred H3967 thousand H505 and three H7969 thousand H505 and five H2568 hundred H3967 and fifty H2572 .

33. Moses obeyed the Lord and did not count the Levites among the other people of Israel.
|
33. But the Levites H3881 were not H3808 numbered H6485 among H8432 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 ; as H834 the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 H853 Moses H4872 .

34. So the Israelites obeyed everything the Lord commanded Moses. They camped under their flags and marched out by families and family groups. Aaron's Family, the Priests
