1. The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the Meeting Tent, saying,

1. And the LORD H3068 called H7121 unto H413 Moses H4872 , and spoke H1696 unto H413 him out of the tabernacle H4480 H168 of the congregation H4150 , saying H559 ,
|
|
2. "Tell the people of Israel: 'When you bring an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from the herd or flock.
|
2. Speak H1696 unto H413 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and say H559 unto H413 them, If H3588 any man H120 of H4480 you bring H7126 an offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 , ye shall bring H7126 H853 your offering H7133 of H4480 the cattle H929 , even of H4480 the herd H1241 , and of H4480 the flock H6629 .

3. "'If the offering is a whole burnt offering from the herd, it must be a male that has nothing wrong with it. The person must take the animal to the entrance of the Meeting Tent so that the Lord will accept the offering.
|
3. If H518 his offering H7133 be a burnt sacrifice H5930 of H4480 the herd H1241 , let him offer H7126 a male H2145 without blemish H8549 : he shall offer H7126 it of his own voluntary will H7522 at H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 before H6440 the LORD H3068 .

4. He must put his hand on the animal's head, and the Lord will accept it to remove the person's sin so he will belong to God.
|
4. And he shall put H5564 his hand H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the burnt offering H5930 ; and it shall be accepted H7521 for him to make atonement H3722 for H5921 him.

5. He must kill the young bull before the Lord, and Aaron's sons, the priests, must bring its blood and sprinkle it on all sides of the altar at the entrance to the Meeting Tent.
|
5. And he shall kill H7819 H853 the bullock H1121 H1241 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : and the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 's sons H1121 , shall bring H7126 H853 the blood H1818 , and sprinkle H2236 H853 the blood H1818 round about H5439 upon H5921 the altar H4196 that H834 is by the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 .

6. After that he will skin the animal and cut it into pieces.
|
6. And he shall flay H6584 H853 the burnt offering H5930 , and cut H5408 it into his pieces H5409 .
|
|
7. The priests, when they have put wood and fire on the altar,
|
7. And the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 the priest H3548 shall put H5414 fire H784 upon H5921 the altar H4196 , and lay the wood in order H6186 H6086 upon H5921 the fire H784 :
|
|
8. are to lay the head, the fat, and other pieces on the wood that is on the fire of the altar.
|
8. And the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 's sons H1121 , shall lay H6186 H853 the parts H5409 , H853 the head H7218 , and the fat H6309 , in order upon H5921 the wood H6086 that H834 is on H5921 the fire H784 which H834 is upon H5921 the altar H4196 :

9. The animal's inner organs and legs must be washed with water. Then the priest must burn all the animal's parts on the altar. It is a whole burnt offering, an offering made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord.

9. But his inwards H7130 and his legs H3767 shall he wash H7364 in water H4325 : and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 H853 all H3605 on the altar H4196 , to be a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 .

10. "'If the burnt offering is a sheep or a goat from the flock, it must be a male that has nothing wrong with it.
|
10. And if H518 his offering H7133 be of H4480 the flocks H6629 , namely , of H4480 the sheep H3775 , or H176 of H4480 the goats H5795 , for a burnt sacrifice H5930 ; he shall bring H7126 it a male H2145 without blemish H8549 .

|
11. The person must kill the animal on the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron's sons, the priests, must sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar.
|
11. And he shall kill H7819 it on H5921 the side H3409 of the altar H4196 northward H6828 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : and the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 's sons H1121 , shall sprinkle H2236 H853 his blood H1818 round about H5439 upon H5921 the altar H4196 .

12. The person must cut the animal into pieces, and the priest must lay them, with the head and fat, on the wood that is on the fire of the altar.
|
12. And he shall cut H5408 it into his pieces H5409 , with H854 his head H7218 and his fat H6309 : and the priest H3548 shall lay them in order H6186 H853 on H5921 the wood H6086 that H834 is on H5921 the fire H784 which H834 is upon H5921 the altar H4196 :

13. The person must wash the animal's inner organs and legs with water, and then the priest must burn all its parts on the altar. It is a whole burnt offering, an offering made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord.

13. But he shall wash H7364 the inwards H7130 and the legs H3767 with water H4325 : and the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 it H853 all H3605 , and burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 : it H1931 is a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 .

14. "'If the whole burnt offering for the Lord is a bird, it must be a dove or a young pigeon.
|
14. And if H518 the burnt sacrifice H5930 for his offering H7133 to the LORD H3068 be of H4480 fowls H5775 , then he shall bring H7126 H853 his offering H7133 of H4480 turtledoves H8449 , or H176 of H4480 young H1121 pigeons H3123 .

|
15. The priest will bring it to the altar and pull off its head, which he will burn on the altar; the bird's blood must be drained out on the side of the altar.
|
15. And the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 it unto H413 the altar H4196 , and wring off H4454 H853 his head H7218 , and burn H6999 it on the altar H4196 ; and the blood H1818 thereof shall be wrung out H4680 at H5921 the side H7023 of the altar H4196 :

16. The priest must remove the bird's cropn and its contents and throw them on the east side of the altar, where the ashes are.
|
16. And he shall pluck away H5493 H853 his crop H4760 with his feathers H5133 , and cast H7993 it beside H681 the altar H4196 on the east part H6924 , by H413 the place H4725 of the ashes H1880 :

17. Then he must tear the bird open by its wings without dividing it into two parts. He must burn the bird on the altar, on the wood which is on the fire. It is a whole burnt offering, an offering made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord.

17. And he shall cleave H8156 it with the wings H3671 thereof, but shall not H3808 divide it asunder H914 : and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 , upon H5921 the wood H6086 that H834 is upon H5921 the fire H784 : it H1931 is a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 .
