1 और यहूदा का राजा यहोशापात यरूशलेम को अपने भवन में कुशल से लौट गया।
2 तब हनानी नाम दशीं का पुत्र येहू यहोशापात राजा से भेंट करने को निकला और उस से कहने लगा, क्या दुष्टों की सहायता करनी और यहोवा के बैरियों से प्रेम रखना चाहिये? इस काम के कारण यहोवा की ओर से तुझ पर क्रोध भड़का है।
3 तौभी तुझ में कुछ अच्छी बातें पाई जाती हैं। तू ने तो देश में से अशेरों को नाश किया और उपने मन को परमेश्वर की खोज में लगाया है।
4 यहोशापात यरूशलेम में रहता था, और उसने बेर्शेबा से ले कर एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश तक अपनी प्रजा में फिर दौरा कर के, उन को उनके पितरों के परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर फेर दिया।
5 फिर उसने यहूदा के एक एक गढ़ वाले नगर में न्यायी ठहराया।
6 और उसने न्यायियों से कहा, सोचो कि क्या करते हो, क्योंकि तुम जो न्याय करोगे, वह मनुष्य के लिये नहीं, यहोवा के लिये करोगे; और वह न्याय करते समय तुम्हारे साथ रहेगा।
7 अब यहोवा का भय तुम में बना रहे; चौकसी से काम करना, क्योंकि हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा में कुछ कुटिलता नहीं है, और न वह किसी का पक्ष करता और न घूस लेता है।
8 और यरूशलेम में भी यहोशापात ने लेवियों और याजकों और इस्राएल के पितरों के घरानों के कुछ मुख्य पुरुषों को यहोवा की ओर से न्याय करने और मुकद्दमों को जांचने के लिये ठहराया।
9 और वे यरूशलेम को लौटे। और उसने उन को आज्ञा दी, कि यहोवा का भय मान कर, सच्चाई और निष्कपट मन से ऐसा करना।
10 तुम्हारे भाई जो अपने अपने नगर में रहते हैं, उन में से जिसका कोई मुकद्दमा तुम्हारे साम्हने आए, चाहे वह खून का हो, चाहे व्यवस्था, अथवा किसी आज्ञा या विधि वा नियम के विषय हो, उन को चिता देना, कि यहोवा के विषय दोषी न होओ। बेसा न हो कि तुम पर और तुम्हारे भाइयों पर उसका क्रोध भड़के। ऐसा करो तो तुम दोषी न ठहरोगे।
11 और देखो, यहोवा के विष्य के सब मुकद्दमों में तो अमर्याह महायाजक और राजा के विषय के सब मुकद्दमों में यहूदा के घराने का प्रधान इश्माएल का पुत्र जबद्याह तुम्हारे ऊपर अधिकारी है; और लेवीय तुम्हारे साम्हने सरदारों का काम करेंगे। इसलिये हियाव बान्ध कर काम करो और भले मनुष्य के साथ यहोवा रहेगा।

2 And Jehu H3058 the son H1121 CMS of Hanani H2607 the seer H2374 went out H3318 W-VQY3MS to meet H413 PREP him , and said H559 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP king H4428 D-NMS Jehoshaphat H3092 , Shouldest thou help H5826 the ungodly H7563 , and love H157 them that hate H8130 the LORD H3068 EDS ? therefore H2063 is wrath H7110 upon H5921 PREP-2MS thee from before H6440 CMP-3MS the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
3 Nevertheless H61 there are good H2896 things H1697 NMP found H4672 in H5973 PREP-2FS thee , in that H3588 CONJ thou hast taken away H1197 the groves H842 out of H4480 PREP the land H776 D-GFS , and hast prepared H3559 thine heart H3824 to seek H1875 L-VQFC God H430 .
4 And Jehoshaphat H3092 dwelt H3427 W-VQY3MS at Jerusalem H3389 : and he went out H3318 W-VQY3MS again H7725 through the people H5971 from Beer H884 - sheba to H5704 PREP mount H2022 CMS Ephraim H669 , and brought them back H7725 unto H413 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of their fathers H1 .
5 And he set H5975 W-VHY3MS judges H8199 in the land H776 B-NFS throughout all H3605 B-CMS the fenced H1219 cities H5892 of Judah H3063 , city H5892 by city H5892 ,
6 And said H559 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP the judges H8199 , Take heed H7200 what H4100 IGAT ye H859 PPRO-2MS do H6213 : for H3588 CONJ ye judge H8199 not H3808 NADV for man H120 L-CMS , but H3588 CONJ for the LORD H3068 L-EDS , who is with H5973 W-PREP-2MS you in the judgment H1697 .
7 Wherefore now H6258 W-ADV let the fear H6343 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS be H1961 VPY3MS upon H5921 PREP-2MP you ; take heed H8104 and do H6213 it : for H3588 CONJ there is no H369 NPAR iniquity H5766 NFS with H5973 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS our God H430 , nor respect H4856 of persons H6440 NMP , nor taking H4727 of gifts H7810 NMS .
8 Moreover H1571 W-CONJ in Jerusalem H3389 did Jehoshaphat H3092 set H5975 of H4480 PREP the Levites H3881 , and of the priests H3548 , and of the chief H7218 of the fathers H1 of Israel H3478 , for the judgment H4941 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and for controversies H7379 , when they returned H7725 W-VUY3MP to Jerusalem H3389 .
9 And he charged H6680 W-VPY3MS them , saying H559 L-VQFC , Thus H3541 shall ye do H6213 in the fear H3374 of the LORD H3068 EDS , faithfully H530 , and with a perfect H8003 heart H3824 .
10 And what cause soever H3605 W-CMS shall come H935 VQY3MS to H5921 PREP-2MP you of your brethren H251 that dwell H3427 in their cities H5892 , between H996 PREP blood H1818 NMS and blood H1818 L-NMS , between H996 PREP law H8451 NFS and commandment H4687 , statutes H2706 and judgments H4941 , ye shall even warn H2094 them that they trespass H816 not H3808 W-NPAR against the LORD H3068 L-EDS , and so wrath H7110 come H1961 upon H5921 PREP-2MP you , and upon H5921 W-PREP your brethren H251 : this H3541 do H6213 , and ye shall not H3808 W-NPAR trespass H816 .
11 And , behold H2009 IJEC , Amariah H568 the chief H7218 priest H3548 NMS is over H5921 PREP-2MP you in all H3605 matters H1697 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS ; and Zebadiah H2069 the son H1121 CMS of Ishmael H3458 , the ruler H5057 of the house H1004 of Judah H3063 , for all H3605 the king H4428 D-NMS \'s matters H1697 CMS : also the Levites H3881 shall be officers H7860 before H6440 you . Deal H6213 courageously H2388 , and the LORD H3068 EDS shall be H1961 W-VQI3MS with H5973 PREP the good H2896 .
