3 अपने स्वामी के बेटों में से जो सब से अच्छा और योग्य हो, उसको छांट कर, उसके पिता की गद्दी पर बैठाओ, और अपने स्वामी के घराने के लिये लड़ो।

4 परंतु वे निपट डर गए, और कहने लगे, उसके साम्हने दो राजा भी ठहर न सके, फिर हम कहां ठहर सकेंगे?

5 तब जो राज घराने के काम पर था, और जो नगर के ऊपर था, उन्होंने और पुरनियों और लड़के-बालों के पालने वालों ने येहू के पास यों कहला भेजा, कि हम तेरे दास हैं, जो कुछ तू हम से कहे, उसे हम करेंगे; हम किसी को राजा न बनाएंगे, जो तुझे भाए वहीं कर।

6 तब उसने दूसरा पत्र लिख कर उनके पास भेजा, कि यदि तुम मेरी ओर के हो और मेरी मानो, तो अपने स्वामी के बेटों-पोतों के सिर कटवाकर कल इसी समय तक मेरे पास यिज्रैल में हाजिर होना। राजपुत्र तो जो सत्तर मतुष्य थे, वे उस नगर के रईसों के पास पलते थे।

7 यह पत्र उनके हाथ लगते ही, उन्होंने उन सत्तरों राजपुत्रों को पकड़ कर मार डाला, और उनके सिर टोकरियों में रख कर यिज्रैल को उसके पास भेज दिए।

8 और एक दूत ने उसके पास जा कर बता दिया, कि राजकुमारों के सिर आ गए हैं। तब उसने कहा, उन्हें फाटक में दो ढेर कर के बिहान तक रखो।

9 बिहान को उसने बाहर जा खड़े हो कर सब लोगों से कहा, तुम तो निर्दोष हो, मैं ने अपने स्वामी से राजद्रोह की गोष्ठी कर के उसे घात किया, परन्तु इन सभों को किस ने मार डाला?

10 अब जान लो कि जो वचन यहोवा ने अपने दास एलिय्याह के द्वारा कहा था, उसे उसने पूरा किया है; जो वचन यहोवा ने अहाब के घराने के विषय कहा, उस में से एक भी बात बिना पूरी हुए न रहेगी।

11 तब अहाब के घराने के जितने लोग यिज्रैल में रह गए, उन सभों को और उसके जितने प्रधान पुरुष और मित्र और याजक थे, उन सभों को येहू ने मार डाला, यहां तक कि उसने किसी को जीवित न छोड़ा।

12 तब वह वहां से चलकर शोमरोन को गया। और मार्ग में चरवाहों के ऊन कतरने के स्थान पर पहुंचा ही था,

13 कि यहूदा के राजा अहय्याह के भाई येहू से मिले और जब उसने पूछा, तुम कौन हो? तब उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, हम अहज्याह के भाई हैं, और राजपुत्रों और राजमाता के बेटों का कुशलक्षेम पूछने को जाते हैं।

16 और देख, कि मुझे यहोवा के निमित्त कैसी जलन रहती है। तब वह उसके रथ पर चढ़ा दिया गया।

17 शोमरोन को पहुंच कर उसने यहोवा के उस वचन के अनुसार जो उसने एलिय्याह से कहा था, अहाब के जितने शोमरोन में बचे रहे, उन सभों को मार के विनाश किया।

18 तब येहू ने सब लोगों को इकट्ठा कर के कहा, अहाब ने तो बाल की थोड़ी ही उपासना की थी, अब येहू उसकी अपासना बढ़के करेगा।

19 इसलिये अब बाल के सब नबियों, सब उपासकों और सब याजकों को मेरे पास बुला लाओ, उन में से कोई भी न रह जाए; क्योंकि बाल के लिये मेरा एक बड़ा यज्ञ होने वाला है; जो कोई न आए वह जीवित न बचेगा। येहू ने यह काम कपट कर के बाल के सब उपासकों को नाश करने के लिये किया।

20 तब येहू ने कहा, बाल की एक पवित्र महासभा का प्रचार करो। और लोगों ने प्रचार किया।

21 और येहू ने सारे इस्राएल में दूत भेजे; तब बाल के सब उपासक आए, यहां तक कि ऐसा कोई न रह गया जो न आया हो। और वे बाल के भवन में इतने आए, कि वह एक सिरे से दूसरे सिरे तक भर गया।

22 तब उसने उस मनुष्य से जो वस्त्र के घर का अधिकारी था, कहा, बाल के सब उपासकों के लिये वस्त्र निकाल ले आ; सो वह उनके लिये वस्त्र निकाल ले आया।

23 तब येहू रेकाब के पुत्र यहोनादाब को संग ले कर बाल के भवन में गया, और बाल के उपासकों से कहा, ढूंढ़ कर देखो, कि यहां तुम्हारे संग यहोवा का कोई उपासक तो नहीं है, केवल बाल ही के उपासक हैं। तब वे मेलबलि और होमबलि चढ़ाने को भीतर गए।

24 येहू ने तो अस्सी पुरुष बाहर ठहरा कर उन से कहा था, यदि उन मनुष्यों में से जिन्हें मैं तुम्हारे हाथ कर दूं, कोई भी बचने पाए, तो जो उसे जाने देगा उसका प्राण, उसके प्राण की सन्ती जाएगा।

25 फिर जब होमबलि चढ़ चुका, तब येहू ने पहरुओं उौर सरदारों से कहा, भीतर जा कर उन्हें मार डालो; कोई निकलने न पाए। तब उन्होंने उन्हें तलवार से मारा और पहरुए और सरदार उन को बाहर फेंक कर बाल के भवन के नगर को गए।

26 और उन्होंने बाल के भवन में की लाठें निकाल कर फूंक दीं।

27 और बाल की लाठ को उन्होंने तोड़ डाला; और बाल के भवन को ढाकर पायखाना बना दिया; और वह आज तक ऐसा ही है।

28 यों येहू ने बाल को इस्राएल में से नाश कर के दूर किया।

29 तौभी नबात के पुत्र यारोबाम, जिसने इस्राएल से पाप कराया था, उसके पापों के अनुसार करने, अर्थात बेतेल और दान में के सोने के बछड़ों की पूजा, उस से येहू अलग न हुआ।

30 और यहोवा ने येहू से कहा, इसलिये कि नू ने वह किया, जो मेरी दृष्टि में ठीक है, और अहाब के घराने से मेरी इच्छा के अनुसार बर्ताव किया है, तेरे पर पोते के पुत्र तक तेरी सन्तान इस्राएल की गद्दी पर विराजती रहेगी।

31 परन्तु येहू ने इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की व्यवस्था पर पूर्ण मन से चलने की चौकसी न की, वरन यारोबाम जिसने इस्राएल से पाप कराया था, उसके पापों के अनुसार करने से वह अलग न हुआ।

32 उन दिनों यहोवा इस्राएल को घटाने लगा, इसलिये हजाएल ने इस्राएल के उन सारे देशों में उन को मारा:

33 यरदन से पूरब की ओर गिलाद का सारा देश, और गादी और रूबेनी और मनश्शेई का देश अर्थात अरोएर से ले कर जो अर्नोन की तराई के पास है, गिलाद और बाशान तक।

34 येहू के और सब काम और जो कुछ उसने किया, और उसकी पूर्ण वीरता, यह सब क्या इस्राएल के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखा है?

And they smote ^H5221 them with the edge ^H6310 ^L-CMS of the sword ^H2719 ^NFS ; and the guard ^H7323 and the captains ^H7991 cast them out ^H7993 , and went ^H1980 ^W-VQY3MP to ^H5704 ^PREP the city ^H5892 ^GFS of the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Baal ^H1168 .

26 And they brought forth the images ^H4676 out of the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Baal ^H1168 , and burned ^H8313 them .

27 And they broke down ^H5422 the image ^H4676 of Baal ^H1168 , and broke down ^H5422 the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Baal ^H1168 , and made ^H7760 it a draught house ^H4163 unto ^H5704 ^PREP this day ^H3117 ^D-NMS .

28 Thus Jehu ^H3058 destroyed ^H8045 Baal ^H1168 out of Israel ^H3478 .

29 Howbeit ^H7535 ^ADV from the sins ^H2399 of Jeroboam ^H3379 the son ^H1121 of Nebat ^H5028 , who ^H834 ^RPRO made Israel ^H3478 to sin ^H2398 , Jehu ^H3058 departed ^H5493 not ^H3808 ^ADV from after ^H310 them , to wit , the golden ^H2091 calves ^H5695 that ^H834 ^RPRO were in Bethel ^H1008 ^LFS , and that ^H834 ^RPRO were in Dan ^H1835 .
