1 অতএব তুমি আপন ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে প্রেম করিবে, এবং তাঁহার রক্ষণীয়, তাঁহার বিধি, তাঁহার শাসন ও তাঁহার আজ্ঞা সকল নিত্য নিত্য পালন করিবে।

2 আর অদ্য জ্ঞাত হও, যেহেতুক তোমাদের বালকগণকে বলিতেছি না; তাহারা তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কৃত শাস্তি জানে নাই ও দেখে নাই; তাঁহার মহত্ত্ব, তাঁহার বলবান্‌ হস্ত ও বিস্তারিত বাহু,

3 এবং তাঁহার চিহ্ন সকল ও মিসরের মধ্যে মিসর-রাজ ফরৌণের প্রতি ও তাঁহার সমস্ত দেশের প্রতি তিনি যাহা যাহা করিলেন, তাঁহার সেই সকল কার্য্য;

4 এবং মিস্রীয় সৈন্যের, অশ্বের ও রথের প্রতি তিনি যাহা করিলেন, তাহারা যখন তোমাদের পশ্চাতে ধাবিত হইল, তিনি যেরূপে সূফসাগরের জল তাহাদের উপরে বহাইলেন, এবং সদাপ্রভু তাহাদিগকে বিনষ্ট করিলেন, অদ্য তাহারা নাই;

5 এবং এ স্থানে তোমাদের আগমন পর্য্যন্ত তোমাদের প্রতি তিনি প্রান্তরে যাহা যাহা করিয়াছেন;

6 আর তিনি রূবেণের পুত্র ইলীয়াবের সন্তান দাথন ও অবীরামের প্রতি যাহা যাহা করিয়াছেন, ফলতঃ পৃথিবী যেরূপে আপন মুখ বিস্তার করিয়া সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে তাহাদিগকে, তাহাদের পরিজনগণকে, তাহাদের তাম্বু ও তাহাদের অধিকৃত সমস্ত সম্পত্তি গ্রাস করিল, এ সকল তাহারা দেখে নাই;

7 কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুর কৃত সমস্ত মহৎ কর্ম্ম তোমরা স্বচক্ষে দেখিয়াছ।

8 অতএব অদ্য আমি তোমাদিগকে যে সকল আজ্ঞা দিতেছি, সেই সমস্ত আজ্ঞা পালন করিও, যেন তোমরা বলবান্‌ হও, এবং যে দেশ অধিকার করিবার জন্য পার হইয়া যাইতেছ, সেই দেশে প্রবেশ করিয়া তাহা অধিকার কর;

9 আর যেন সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদিগকে ও তাঁহাদের বংশকে যে দেশ দিতে দিব্য করিয়াছিলেন, সেই দুগ্ধমধুপ্রবাহী দেশে তোমাদের দীর্ঘকাল অবস্থিতি হয়।

10 কারণ তোমরা যে মিসর দেশ হইতে বাহির হইয়া আসিয়াছ, সেই দেশে তুমি বীজ বুনিয়া শাকের উদ্যানের ন্যায় পদ দ্বারা জল সেচন করিতে; কিন্তু তুমি যে দেশ অধিকার করিতে যাইতেছ, তাহা তদ্রূপ নয়।

11 তোমরা যে দেশ অধিকার করিতে পার হইয়া যাইতেছ, সে পর্ব্বত ও উপত্যকা-বিশিষ্ট দেশ, এবং আকাশের বৃষ্টির জল পান করে;

12 সেই দেশের প্রতি তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর মনোযোগ আছে; বৎসরের আরম্ভ অবধি বৎসরের শেষ পর্য্যন্ত তাহার প্রতি নিরন্তর তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টি থাকে।

13 আর আমি অদ্য তোমাদিগকে যে সকল আজ্ঞা দিতেছি, তোমরা যদি যত্নপূর্ব্বক তাহা শুনিয়া তোমাদের সমস্ত হৃদয় ও সমস্ত প্রাণের সহিত তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে প্রেম ও তাঁহার সেবা কর,

14 তবে আমি যথাসময়ে অর্থাৎ প্রথম ও শেষ বর্ষায় তোমাদের দেশে বৃষ্টি দান করিব, তাহাতে তুমি আপন শস্য, দ্রাক্ষারস ও তৈল সংগ্রহ করিতে পারিবে।

15 আর আমি তোমার পশুগণের জন্য তোমার ক্ষেত্রে তৃণ দিব, এবং তুমি ভক্ষণ করিয়া তৃপ্ত হইবে।

16 আপনাদের বিষয়ে সাবধান, পাছে তোমাদের হৃদয় ভ্রান্ত হয়, এবং তোমরা পথ ছাড়িয়া অন্য দেবগণের সেব কর ও তাহাদের কাছে প্রণিপাত কর;

17 করিলে তোমাদের প্রতি সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ প্রজ্বলিত হইবে, ও তিনি আকাশ রোধ করিবেন, তাহাতে বৃষ্টি হইবে না, ও ভূমি নিজ ফল প্রদান করিবে না, এবং সদাপ্রভু তোমাদিগকে যে দেশ দিতেছেন, সেই উত্তম দেশ হইতে তোমরা ত্বরায় উচ্ছিন্ন হইবে।

18 অতএব তোমরা আমার এই সকল বাক্য আপন আপন হৃদয়ে ও প্রাণে রাখিও, এবং চিহ্নরূপে আপন আপন হস্তে বাঁধিয়া রাখিও, এবং সে সকল ভূষণরূপে তোমাদের দুই চক্ষুর মধ্যে থাকিবে।

19 আর তোমরা গৃহে উপবেশন ও পথে গমন কালে এবং শয়ন ও গাত্রোত্থান কালে ঐ সকল কথার প্রসঙ্গ করিয়া আপন আপন সন্তানদিগকে শিক্ষা দিও।

20 আর তুমি আপন গৃহ-দ্বারের পার্শ্বকাষ্ঠে ও আপন দ্বারে তাহা লিখিয়া রাখিও।

21 তাহাতে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদিগকে যে ভূমি দিতে দিব্য করিয়াছেন, সেই ভূমিতে তোমাদের আয়ুঃ ও তোমাদের সন্তানদের আয়ুঃ ভূমণ্ডলের উপরে আকাশমণ্ডলের আয়ুর ন্যায় বৃদ্ধি পাইবে।

22 এই যে সমস্ত আজ্ঞা আমি তোমাদিগকে দিতেছি, তোমরা যদি যত্নপূর্ব্বক তাহা পালন করিয়া তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে প্রেম কর, তাঁহার সমস্ত পথে চল, ও তাঁহাতে আসক্ত থাক;

23 তবে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের সম্মুখ হইতে এই সমস্ত জাতিকে অধিকারচ্যুত করিবেন; এবং তোমরা আপনাদের হইতে বৃহৎ ও বলবান্‌ জাতিদের উত্তরাধিকারী হইবে।

24 তোমাদের পা যে যে স্থানে পড়িবে, সেই সেই স্থান তোমাদের হইবে; প্রান্তর ও লিবানোন অবধি, নদী অর্থাৎ ফরাৎ নদী অবধি পশ্চিম সমুদ্র পর্য্যন্ত তোমাদের সীমা হইবে।

25 তোমাদের সম্মুখে কেহই দাঁড়াইতে পারিবে না; তোমরা যে দেশে পাদবিক্ষেপ করিবে, সেই দেশের সর্ব্বত্র তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু আপন বাক্যানুসারে তোমাদের হইতে লোকদের ভয় ও ত্রাস উপস্থিত করিবেন।

26 দেখ, অদ্য আমি তোমাদের সম্মুখে আশীর্ব্বাদ ও অভিশাপ রাখিলাম।

27 অদ্য আমি তোমাদিগকে যে সকল আজ্ঞা জানাইলাম, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সেই সকল আজ্ঞাতে যদি কর্ণপাত কর, তবে আশীর্ব্বাদ পাইবে।

28 আর যদি তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর আজ্ঞাতে কর্ণপাত না কর, এবং আমি অদ্য তোমাদিগকে যে পথের বিষয়ে আজ্ঞা করিলাম, যদি সেই পথ ছাড়িয়া তোমাদের অজ্ঞাত অন্য দেবগণের পশ্চাতে গমন কর, তবে অভিশাপগ্রস্ত হইবে।

29 আর তুমি যে দেশ অধিকার করিতে যাইতেছ, সেই দেশে তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু যখন তোমাকে প্রবেশ করাইবেন, তখন তুমি গরিষীম পর্ব্বতে ঐ আশীর্ব্বাদ, এবং এবল পর্ব্বতে ঐ অভিশাপ স্থাপন করিবে।

30 সেই দুই পর্ব্বত যর্দ্দনের ওপারে, সূর্য্যাস্তপথের ওদিকে, অরাবা তলভূমিনিবাসী কনানীয়দের দেশে, গিল্‌গলের সম্মুখে, মোরির এলোন বনের নিকটে কি নয়?

31 কেননা তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাদিগকে যে দেশ দিতেছেন, সে দেশ অধিকার করণার্থে তোমরা তথায় প্রবেশ করিবার জন্য যর্দ্দন পার হইয়া যাইবে, দেশ অধিকার করিবে, ও তথায় বাস করিবে।

32 আর আমি অদ্য তোমাদের সম্মুখে যে সকল বিধি ও শাসন রাখিলাম সে সকল যত্নপূর্ব্বক পালন করিবে।

23 Then will the LORD ^H3068 drive out ^H3423 ^H853 all ^H3605 these ^H428 nations ^H1471 from before ^H4480 ^H6440 you , and ye shall possess ^H3423 greater ^H1419 nations ^H1471 and mightier ^H6099 than ^H4480 yourselves.

24 Every ^H3605 place ^H4725 whereon ^H834 the soles ^H3709 of your feet ^H7272 shall tread ^H1869 shall be ^H1961 yours: from ^H4480 the wilderness ^H4057 and Lebanon, ^H3844 from ^H4480 the river, ^H5104 the river ^H5104 Euphrates, ^H6578 even unto ^H5704 the uttermost ^H314 sea ^H3220 shall your coast ^H1366 be. ^H1961

28 And a curse, ^H7045 if ^H518 ye will not ^H3808 obey ^H8085 ^H413 the commandments ^H4687 of the LORD ^H3068 your God, ^H430 but turn aside ^H5493 out of ^H4480 the way ^H1870 which ^H834 I ^H595 command ^H6680 you this day, ^H3117 to go ^H1980 after ^H310 other ^H312 gods, ^H430 which ^H834 ye have not ^H3808 known. ^H3045

30 Are they ^H1992 not ^H3808 on the other side ^H5676 Jordan, ^H3383 by ^H310 the way ^H1870 where the sun ^H8121 goeth down, ^H3996 in the land ^H776 of the Canaanites, ^H3669 which dwell ^H3427 in the champaign ^H6160 over against ^H4136 Gilgal, ^H1537 beside ^H681 the plains ^H436 of Moreh ^H4176 ?

31 For ^H3588 ye ^H859 shall pass over ^H5674 ^H853 Jordan ^H3383 to go in ^H935 to possess ^H3423 ^H853 the land ^H776 which ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430 giveth ^H5414 you , and ye shall possess ^H3423 it , and dwell ^H3427 therein.

32 And ye shall observe ^H8104 to do ^H6213 ^H853 all ^H3605 the statutes ^H2706 and judgments ^H4941 which ^H834 I ^H595 set ^H5414 before ^H6440 you this day. ^H3117
