1 বাবিল বিষয়ক ভাববাণী; আমোসের পুত্র যিশাইয় এই দর্শন পান।
2 তোমরা বৃক্ষশূন্য পর্ব্বতের উপরে পতাকা তুল, লোকদের নিমিত্ত উচ্চধ্বনি কর, হস্ত দোলাও; তাহারা প্রধানবর্গের পুরদ্বারে প্রবেশ করুক।
3 আমি আপনার পবিত্র লোকদিগকে আদেশ করিয়াছি, আমি আমার ক্রোধ সফল করণার্থে আমার বীরগণকে, আমার দর্পিত উল্লাসকারিগণকে, আহ্বান করিয়াছি।
4 পর্ব্বতমালায় লোক-সমারোহের রব, যেন মহা-জনবৃন্দের শব্দ! একত্রীকৃত জাতিগণের রাজ্যসমূহের কোলাহল শব্দ! বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু যুদ্ধের জন্য বাহিনী রচনা করিতেছেন।
5 তাহারা আসিতেছে দূরদেশ হইতে, আকাশমণ্ডলের প্রান্ত হইতে; সদাপ্রভুর ও তাঁহার ক্রোধের অস্ত্র সকল সমস্ত দেশ উচ্ছিন্ন করিতে আসিতেছেন।
6 হাহাকার কর, কেননা সদাপ্রভুর দিন নিকটবর্ত্তী; সর্ব্বশক্তিমানের নিকট হইতে বিনাশের ন্যায় উহা আসিতেছে।
7 এই কারণ সকলের হস্ত দুর্ব্বল হইবে, মর্ত্ত্যমাত্রের হৃদয় দ্রব হইবে;
8 লোকেরা বিহ্বল হইবে, নানা যন্ত্রণা ও ব্যাথাগ্রস্ত হইবে, তাহারা প্রসবকারিণীর ন্যায় ব্যাথা খাইবে; এক জন অন্যের প্রতি একাগ্র দৃষ্টি করিবে, তাহাদের মুখ অগ্নিশিখার মুখ।
9 দেখ, সদাপ্রভুর দিন আসিতেছে; পৃথিবীকে ধ্বংস-স্থান করিবার, তথাকার পাপীদিগকে তাহার মধ্য হইতে উচ্ছিন্ন করিবার নিমিত্ত সেই দিন দারুণ এবং ক্রোধ ও প্রজ্বলিত কোপসমন্বিত।
10 বস্তুতঃ আকাশের তারাগণ ও নক্ষত্ররাশি দীপ্তি দিবে না; সূর্য্য উদয়-সময়ে নিস্তেজ হইবে, ও চন্দ্র আপন জ্যোৎস্না প্রকাশ করিবে না।
11 আর আমি জগতের উপরে দুর্বৃত্তির ফল ও দুষ্টগণের উপরে তাহাদের অপরাধের ফল বর্ত্তাইব; আমি অহঙ্কারীদের দর্প শেষ করিব, দুর্দ্দান্তদের গর্ব্ব খর্ব্ব করিব।
12 আমি উত্তম সুবর্ণ হইতে মর্ত্ত্যকে, ওফীরের কাঞ্চন হইতে মনুষ্যকে দুর্লভ করিব।
13 এইজন্য আমি আকাশমণ্ডলকে কম্পান্বিত করিব, এবং বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধে ও তাঁহার প্রজ্বলিত কোপের দিনে পৃথিবী টলিয়া স্থানভ্রষ্ট হইবে।
14 তাহাতে তাড়িত হরিণের ন্যায় ও অরক্ষক মেষের ন্যায় লোকেরা প্রত্যেকে আপন আপন জাতির প্রতি ফিরিবে, প্রত্যেকে আপন আপন দেশের দিকে পলায়ন করিবে।
15 যে কাহারও উদ্দেশ পাওয়া যাইবে, সে অস্ত্রবিদ্ধ হইবে; ও যে কেহ ধরা পড়িবে, সে খড়্‌গে পতিত হইবে।
16 আর তাহাদের চক্ষুর সম্মুখে তাহাদের শিশুগণকে আছড়ান যাইবে, তাহাদের গৃহ লুণ্ঠিত হইবে, ও তাহাদের স্ত্রীগণ বলাৎকৃত হইবে।
17 দেখ, আমি তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে মাদীয়দিগকে উত্তেজিত করিব; তাহারা রৌপ্য তুচ্ছ করিবে, ও সুবর্ণে প্রীত হইবে না।
18 তাহাদের ধনুর্দ্ধরেরা যুবকগণকে চূর্ণ করিবে, এবং তাহারা গর্ভফলের প্রতি করুণা করিবে না, বালক বালিকাদের প্রতি মমতা করিবে না।
19 আর বাবিল—রাজ্য সকলের সেই রত্ন ও কল্‌দীয়দের শ্লাঘার সেই লাবণ্য—ঈশ্বরকর্ত্তৃক উৎপাটিত সদোম ও ঘমোরার সদৃশ হইবে।
20 তাহার মধ্যে আর কখনও বসতি হইবে না, পুরুষপুরুষানুক্রমে তথায় কেহ বাস করিবে না, আরবীও সে স্থানে তাম্বু ফেলিবে না, মেষপালকেরাও সেখানে আপন আপন পাল শয়ন করাইবে না।
21 কিন্তু সেই স্থানে বন্যপশুরা শয়ন করিবে; আর তাহাদের গৃহ সকল চীৎকারকারী জন্তুতে পরিপূর্ণ হইবে, উষ্ট্রপক্ষীরা সেখানে বাসা করিবে, ও ছাগেরা নাচিবে।
22 আর তাহাদের অট্টালিকা সমূহে বৃকেরা শব্দ করিবে, বিলাস-প্রাসাদে শৃগালেরা বাস করিবে; হাঁ, তাহার কাল শীঘ্র উপস্থিত হইবে; তাহার দিন সকল দীর্ঘ হইবে না।

5 They come H935 from a far country H4480 H4801, H776 from the end H4480 H7097 of heaven, H8064 even the LORD, H3068 and the weapons H3627 of his indignation, H2195 to destroy H2254 the whole H3605 land. H776

21 But wild beasts of the desert H6728 shall lie H7257 there; H8033 and their houses H1004 shall be full H4390 of doleful creatures; H255 and owls H1323 H3284 shall dwell H7931 there, H8033 and satyrs H8163 shall dance H7540 there. H8033
