1 তোমরা, যাহারা ধার্ম্মিকতার অনুগামী, যাহারা সদাপ্রভুর অন্বেষণ করিতেছ, তোমরা আমার বাক্যে কর্ণপাত কর; তোমরা যে শৈল হইতে তক্ষিত ও যে কূপের ছিদ্র হইতে খনিত হইয়াছ, তাহার প্রতি দৃষ্টি কর।
2 তোমাদের পিতা অব্রাহাম ও তোমাদের প্রসবকারিণী সারার প্রতি দৃষ্টি কর; ফলতঃ যখন সে একাকী ছিল, তখন আমি তাহাকে ডাকিয়া আশীর্ব্বাদযুক্ত ও বহুবংশ করিলাম।
3 বস্তুতঃ সদাপ্রভু সিয়োনকে সান্ত্বনা করিয়াছেন, তিনি তাহার সমস্ত উৎসন্ন স্থানকে সান্ত্বনা করিয়াছেন, এবং তাহার প্রান্তরকে এদনের ন্যায়, ও তাহার শুষ্ক ভূমিকে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্যানের ন্যায় করিয়াছেন; তাহার মধ্যে আমোদ ও আনন্দ, স্তবগান ও সঙ্গীতের ধ্বনি পাওয়া যাইবে।
4 হে আমার প্রজাগণ, আমার বাক্যে অবধান কর; হে আমার জনবৃন্দ, আমার বচনে কর্ণপাত কর; কেননা আমা হইতে ব্যবস্থা নির্গত হইবে, আমি জাতিগণের দীপ্তির জন্য আপন বিচার স্থাপন করিব।
5 আমার ধর্ম্মশীলতা নিকটবর্ত্তী, আমার পরিত্রাণ নির্গত হইল, এবং আমার বাহু জাতিগণের বিচার নিষ্পন্ন করিবে; উপকূল সকল আমারই অপেক্ষায় থাকিবে, ও আমার বাহুতে প্রত্যাশা রাখিবে।
6 তোমরা আকাশমণ্ডলের প্রতি চক্ষু তুলিয়া দৃষ্টিপাত কর, অধঃস্থিত ভূমণ্ডলও নিরীক্ষণ কর; কেননা আকাশমণ্ডল ধূমের ন্যায় অন্তর্হিত হইবে, ভূমণ্ডল বস্ত্রের ন্যায় জীর্ণ হইবে, এবং তন্নিবাসিগণ সেইরূপে মারা পড়িবে; কিন্তু আমার পরিত্রাণ অনন্তকাল থাকিবে, আমার ধর্ম্মশীলতা বিনষ্ট হইবে না।
7 তোমরা যাহারা ধার্ম্মিকতা জান, যে লোকদের অন্তরে আমার ব্যবস্থা আছে, তোমরা আমার বাক্যে কর্ণপাত কর; মর্ত্ত্যের টিট্‌কারিতে ভয় করিও না, তাহাদের বিদ্রূপে উদ্বিগ্ন হইও না।
8 কেননা কীটে তাহাদিগকে বস্ত্রের ন্যায় খাইয়া ফেলিবে, ও কৃমিরা তাহাদিগকে মেষলোমের ন্যায় খাইয়া ফেলিবে; কিন্তু আমার ধর্ম্মশীলতা অনন্তকাল ও আমার পরিত্রাণ পুরুষানুক্রমে থাকিবে।
9 জাগ, জাগ, বল পরিধান কর, হে সদাপ্রভুর বাহু; জাগ, যেমন পূর্ব্বকালে, সেকালের পুরুষে পুরুষে জাগিয়াছিলে, তুমিই কি রহবকে কুচি কুচি করিয়া কাট নাই, প্রকাণ্ড জলচরকে বিদ্ধ কর নাই?
10 তুমিই কি সমুদ্র, মহাজলধির জল শুষ্ক কর নাই, সমুদ্রের গভীর স্থানকে কি পথ কর নাই, যেন মুক্তিপ্রাপ্ত লোকেরা পার হইয়া যায়?
11 সদাপ্রভুর নিস্তারিত লোকেরা ফিরিয়া আসিবে, আনন্দগান পুরঃসর সিয়োনে আসিবে, এবং তাহাদের মস্তকে নিত্যস্থায়ী হর্ষমুকুট থাকিবে; তাহারা আমোদ ও আনন্দ প্রাপ্ত হইবে, এবং খেদ ও আর্ত্তস্বর দূরে পলায়ন করিবে।
12 আমি, আমিই তোমাদের সাত্ত্বনাকর্ত্তা। তুমি কে যে, মর্ত্ত্যকে ভয় করিতেছ, সে ত মরিয়া যাইবে; এবং মনুষ্য-সন্তানকে ভয় করিতেছ, সে ত তৃণের ন্যায় হইয়া পড়িবে;
13 আর তোমার নির্ম্মাতা সদাপ্রভুকে ভুলিয়া গিয়াছ, যিনি আকাশমণ্ডল বিস্তার করিয়াছেন, পৃথিবীর ভিত্তিমূল স্থাপন করিয়াছেন; এবং তুমি সমস্ত দিন অবিরত উপদ্রবীর ক্রোধ হেতু ভয় পাইতেছ, যখন সে বিনাশ করিতে প্রস্তুত হইয়াছে? উপদ্রবীর ক্রোধ কোথায়? ন্যুব্জ বন্দি শীঘ্রই মুক্ত হইবে;
14 সে মরিয়া কূপে নামিয়া যাইবে না, আর তাহার খাদ্যের অভাব হইবে না।
15 আমি ত সদাপ্রভু, তোমার ঈশ্বর, আমি সমুদ্রকে ব্যস্ত করিলে তাহার তরঙ্গ কল্লোলধ্বনি করে; বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, এই আমার নাম।
16 আর আমি আপন বাক্য তোমার মুখে রাখিলাম, আপন হস্তের ছায়ায় তোমাকে আচ্ছাদন করিলাম। আমার উদ্দেশ্যে, আকাশমণ্ডল রোপন করি, পৃথিবীর ভিত্তিমূল স্থাপন করি, এবং সিয়োনকে বলি, তুমি আমার প্রজা।
17 জাগ, জাগ, উঠিয়া দাঁড়াও, হে যিরূশালেম, তুমি সদাপ্রভুর হস্ত হইতে তাঁহার ক্রোধ-পানপাত্রে পান করিয়াছ, মত্ততাজনক বৃহৎ পানপাত্রে পান করিয়াছ, তলানি চাটিয়া খাইয়াছ।
18 এই পুরী যে সকল পুত্র প্রসব করিয়াছে, তাহাদের মধ্যে তাহাকে লইয়া যাইবার কেহই নাই; যে সকল পুত্র প্রতিপালন করিয়াছে, তাহাদের মধ্যে ইহার হস্ত ধরিবার কেহ নাই।
19 এই দুই তোমার প্রতি ঘটিয়াছে; কে তোমার নিমিত্ত বিলাপ করিবে? ধনাপহার ও বিনাশ, দুর্ভিক্ষ ও খড়্‌গ; আমি কিরূপে তোমাকে সান্ত্বনা করিব?
20 জালে বদ্ধ হরিণের ন্যায় তোমার পুত্রগণ মূর্চ্ছিত হইয়াছে, প্রতি সড়কের মাথায় পড়িয়া আছে; তাহারা সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধে তোমার ঈশ্বরের ধমকে পরিপূর্ণ।
21 অতএব তুমি এই কথা শুন, হে দুঃখিনি, তুমি মত্তা, কিন্তু দ্রাক্ষারসে নয়;
22 তোমার প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, তোমার ঈশ্বর, যিনি আপন প্রজাদের পক্ষবাদী, তিনি এই কথা কহেন, দেখ, আমি মত্ততাজনক পানপাত্র, আমার ক্রোধরূপ বৃহৎ পানপাত্র, তোমার হস্ত হইতে লইলাম; সেই পানপাত্রে তুমি আর পান করিবে না।
23 আর আমি তোমার সেই ক্লেশদাতাদের হস্তে তাহা সমর্পণ করিব, যাহারা তোমার প্রাণকে বলিয়াছে, ‘হেঁট হও, আমরা তোমার উপর দিয়া গমন করি,’ আর তুমি ভূমির ন্যায় ও সড়কের ন্যায় পথিকদের কাছে আপন পৃষ্ঠ পাতিয়া দিয়াছ।
