2 প্রভুই বিশ্বকে সৃষ্টি করেছিলেন এবং তিনিই বিশ্বকে রক্ষা করেছেন| প্রভু হল তার নাম| প্রভু বলেছেন,

3 “যিহূদা আমার কাছে প্রার্থনা করো, আমি তোমার প্রার্থনার উত্তর দেব| আমি তোমাকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গোপন কথা বলব| য়ে কথা এর আগে তুমি শুনতে পাওনি|

4 প্রভু হলেন ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর| যিহূদার রাজপ্রাসাদ এবং জেরুশালেমের ঘরবাড়ি সম্বন্ধে প্রভু এই কথাগুলি বলেছেন| শএুরা ঐ সমস্ত ঘরবাড়ি ভেঙে ফেলবে| শএুরা ঐ সমস্ত শহরে প্রাচীর ভেঙে ফেলে তরবারি হাতে শহরের অভ্য়ন্তরের বাসিন্দাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করবে|

5 জেরুশালেমের লোকরা অসংখ্য খারাপ কাজ করেছে| আমি তাদের প্রতি রুদ্ধ| আমি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে চলে গিয়েছি| তাই আমি অসংখ্য মানুষকে হত্যা করব| যখন বাবিলের সৈন্যদল জেরুশালেমের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে আসবে, তখন জেরুশালেমের বাড়ীগুলোতে মৃতদেহ পড়ে থাকবে|

7 তারপর আমি যিহূদা ও ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের তাদের দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনব| অতীতের মতো আবার আমি তাদের শক্তিশালী করে তুলব|

8 তারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে য়ে পাপ করেছিল সব পাপ আমি ধুয়ে দেব| তারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করেছিল কিন্তু আমি তাদের ক্ষমা করে দেব|

9 তখন জেরুশালেম আবার অপূর্ব হয়ে উঠবে| সেখানে লোকরা খুশীতে আনন্দ করবে| অন্য জাতির লোকেরা যখন ভালো কাজগুলির কথা, য়েগুলো আমি জেরুশালেমের জন্য করছি শুনতে পাবে, তখন তারা আমার প্রশংসা করবে| আমি জেরুশালেমে য়ে সমৃদ্ধি ও শান্তি আনছি তার জন্য জাতিগুলি আমাকে ভয় ও শ্রদ্ধা করবে|

10 “লোকরা, তোমরা বলছো, ‘আমাদের দেশতো এখন শূন্য মরুভূমি| এখানে প্রাণের কোন চিহ্ন নেই|’ জেরুশালেমের পথ সমূহে এবং যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে কোন শব্দ শোনা যাচ্ছে না| কিন্তু খুব শীঘ্রই তোমরা এই জায়গাগুলিতে শব্দ শুনতে পাবে|

13 মেষপালক য়েমন তার মেষ গোনে, লোকরা তেমনি সর্বত্র তাদের মেষ গুনবে- পাহাড়ী দেশে, পশ্চিমের পাদদেশে, নেগেভে এবং যিহূদার অন্যান্য সব শহরগুলিতেও|”

14 এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা: “আমি যিহূদা ও ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের কাছে একটি বিশেষ প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলাম| আমার সেই প্রতিশ্রুতি পালনের সময় আসছে|

15 আমি দাযূদের পরিবার থেকে একটি ভালো ‘শাখাকে’ বৃদ্ধি করব| সেই ‘শাখা’ বেড়ে উঠবে এবং দেশের জন্য সঠিক এবং ভাল কাজসমূহ করবে|

16 এই ‘শাখার’ সময় যিহূদার লোকরা বেঁচে যাবে| জেরুশালেমের লোকেরা নিরাপদে বসবাস করতে পারবে| সেই ‘শাখার’ নাম হল: ‘প্রভু মঙ্গলময|”‘

17 প্রভু বলেছেন, “দাযূদ পরিবারের এক জন ইস্রায়েলের সিংহাসনে সর্বদা শাসন করবে|

18 এবং যাজকগণ হবে সর্বদা লেবীয় ় পরিবার থেকে| ঐ যাজকগণ সর্বদাই আমার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে আমার উদ্দেশ্যে হোমবলি, শস্য নৈবেদ্য এবং বলি দেবে|”

19 প্রভুর এই বার্তা এলো যিরমিয়র কাছে|

20 প্রভু বললেন, “দিন ও রাত্রির সঙ্গে আমার একটি চুক্তি আছে| তারা একইভাবে বরাবর ঘুরে ফিরে আসবে| তোমরা এই চুক্তি বদল করতে পারবে না| দিন ও রাত্রি সঠিক সময়েই আসবে|

21 তোমরা যদি এই বন্দোবস্ত বদল করতে পারো তাহলে তোমরা দাযূদ ও লেবীয় পরিবারের সঙ্গে আমার য়ে চুক্তি তাও বদলে দিতে পারবে| তখন আর দাযূদ ও লেবীয় পরিবারের উত্তরপুরুষরা রাজা বা যাজক হবে না|

22 কিন্তু আমার সেবক দাযূদ ও লেবীয় পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর অসংখ্য উত্তরপুরুষ দেব| তারা সংখ্যায় আকাশের তারাদের মতো অগণিত হবে, হবে সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠের নীচের বালুকণার মতো যা কেউ কোনদিন গুনে শেষ করতে পারবে না|”

23 প্রভুর এই বার্তা যিরমিয় গ্রহণ করল:

24 “যিরমিয়, তুমি কি শুনতে পাচ্ছো লোকরা কি বলছে? ঐ লোকরা বলছে, ‘প্রভু ইস্রায়েল ও যিহূদার দুই পরিবারের কাছ থেকে দূরে সরে গিয়েছেন| প্রভু তাদের নির্বাচন করেছেন, কিন্তু এখন তিনি তাদের একটি জাতি বলে গ্রহণ করেন না|’

25 প্রভু বলেছেন, “দিন ও রাত্রির সঙ্গে আমার বন্দোবস্ত যদি না স্থায়ী হয় এবং যদি আমি পৃথিবী ও আকাশের জন্য বিধি তৈরী না করতাম, তাহলে হয়তো আমি ঐ লোকদের ত্যাগ করতাম|

26 তাহলে যাকোবের উত্তরপুরুষদের কাছ থেকেও সরে য়েতাম এবং তাহলে হয়তো আমি দাযূদের উত্তরপুরুষদের অব্রাহাম, ইস্হাক এবং যাকোবের উত্তরপুরুষদের শাসন করতে দিতাম না| কিন্তু দাযূদ হল আমার সেবক এবং আমি ঐ লোকদের প্রতি দযা দেখাব| আমি ওদের জন্য ভালো কিছু ঘটিযে দেব|”

2 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS the maker ^H6213 thereof , the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS that formed ^H3335 it , to establish ^H3559 it ; the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS is his name ^H8034 ^CMS-3MS ;

3 Call ^H7121 ^VQI2MP unto ^H413 ^PREP-1MS me , and I will answer ^H6030 thee , and show ^H5046 thee great ^H1419 and mighty ^H1219 things , which thou knowest ^H3045 not ^H3808 ^NADV .

25 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS ; If ^H518 ^PART my covenant ^H1285 be not ^H3808 ^NADV with day ^H3119 ^ADV and night ^H3915 , and if I have not ^H3808 ^NADV appointed ^H7760 the ordinances ^H2708 ^CFP of heaven ^H8064 ^NMP and earth ^H776 ;
