1 আর তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে এই ভাবের একটী দৃষ্টান্ত কহিলেন যে, তাঁহাদের সর্বদাই প্রার্থনা করা উচিত, নিরুৎসাহ হওয়া উচিত নয়।
2 তিনি বলিলেন, কোন নগরে এক বিচারকর্ত্তা ছিল, সে ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করিত না, মনুষ্যকেও মানিত না।
3 আর সেই নগরে এক বিধবা ছিল, সে তাহার নিকটে আসিয়া বলিত, অন্যায়ের প্রতীকার করিয়া আমার বিপক্ষ হইতে আমাকে উদ্ধার করুন!
4 বিচারকর্ত্তা কিছু কাল পর্য্যন্ত সম্মত হইল না; কিন্তু পরে মনে মনে কহিল, যদিও আমি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করি না, মনুষ্যকেও মানি না,
5 তথাপি এই বিধবা আমাকে ক্লেশ দিতেছে, এই জন্য অন্যায় হইতে ইহাকে উদ্ধার করিব, পাছে এ সর্ব্বদা আসিয়া আমাকে জ্বালাতন করিয়া তুলে।
6 পরে প্রভু কহিলেন, শুন, ঐ অধার্ম্মিক বিচারকর্ত্তা কি বলে।
7 তবে ঈশ্বর কি আপনার সেই মনোনীতদের পক্ষে অন্যায়ের প্রতীকার করিবেন না, যাহারা দিবারাত্র তাঁহার কাছে রোদন করে, যদিও তিনি তাহাদের বিষয়ে দীর্ঘসহিষ্ণু?
8 আমি তোমাদিগকে বলিতেছি, তিনি শীঘ্রই তাহাদের পক্ষে অন্যায়ের প্রতিকার করিবেন। কিন্তু মনুষ্যপুত্র যখন আসিবেন, তখন কি পৃথিবীতে বিশ্বাস পাইবেন?
9 যাহারা আপনাদের উপরে বিশ্বাস রাখিত, মনে করিত যে, তাহারাই ধার্ম্মিক, এবং অন্য সকলকে হেয়জ্ঞান করিত, এমন কএক জনকে তিনি এই দৃষ্টান্ত কহিলেন।
10 দুই ব্যক্তি প্রার্থনা করিবার জন্য ধর্ম্মধামে গেল; এক জন ফরীশী, আর এক জন করগ্রাহী।
11 ফরীশী দাঁড়াইয়া আপনা আপনি এইরূপ প্রার্থনা করিল, হে ঈশ্বর, আমি তোমার ধন্যবাদ করি যে, আমি অন্য সকল লোকের—উপদ্রবী, অন্যায়ী ও ব্যভিচারীদের —মত কিম্বা ঐ করগ্রাহীর মত নহি;
12 আমি সপ্তাহের মধ্যে দুই বার উপবাস করি, সমস্ত আয়ের দশমাংশ দান করি;
13 কিন্তু করগ্রাহী দূরে দাঁড়াইয়া স্বর্গের দিকে চক্ষু তুলিতেও সাহস পাইল না, বরং সে বক্ষে করাঘাত করিতে করিতে কহিল, হে ঈশ্বর, আমার প্রতি, এই পাপীর প্রতি দয়া কর।
14 আমি তোমাদিগকে বলিতেছি, এই ব্যক্তি ধার্ম্মিক গণিত হইয়া নিজ গৃহে নামিয়া গেল, ঐ ব্যক্তি নয়; কেননা যে কেহ আপনাকে উচ্চ করে, তাহাকে নত করা যাইবে; কিন্তু যে আপনাকে নত করে, তাহাকে উচ্চ করা যাইবে।
15 আর লোকেরা আপনাদের ছোট শিশুদিগকেও তাঁহার নিকটে আনিল, যেন তিনি তাহাদিগকে স্পর্শ করেন। শিষ্যেরা তাহা দেখিয়া তাহাদিগকে ভর্ৎসনা করিতে লাগিলেন।
16 কিন্তু যীশু তাহাদিগকে নিকটে ডাকিলেন, বলিলেন, শিশুগণকে আমার নিকটে আসিতে দেও, উহাদিগকে বারণ করিও না, কেননা ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য এই মত লোকদেরই।
17 আমি তোমাদিগকে সত্য বলিতেছি, যে কেহ শিশুবৎ হইয়া ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য গ্রহণ না করে, সে কোন মতে তাহাতে প্রবেশ করিতে পাইবে না।
18 এক জন অধ্যক্ষ তাঁহাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করিল, হে সদ্‌গুরু, কি করিলে আমি অনন্ত জীবনের অধিকারী হইব?
19 যীশু তাহাকে কহিলেন, আমাকে সৎ কেন বলিতেছ? এক জন ব্যতিরেকে সৎ আর কেহ নাই, তিনি ঈশ্বর।
20 তুমি আজ্ঞা সকল জান, “ব্যভিচার করিও না, নরহত্যা করিও না, চুরি করিও না, মিথ্যাসাক্ষ্য দিও না, তোমার পিতামাতাকে সমাদর করিও।”
21 সে কহিল, বাল্যকাল অবধি এই সকল পালন করিয়া আসিতেছি।
22 এ কথা শুনিয়া যীশু তাহাকে কহিলেন, এখনও এক বিষয়ে তোমার ত্রুটি আছে; তোমার যাহা কিছু আছে, সমস্ত বিক্রয় কর, আর দরিদ্রদিগকে বিতরণ কর, তাহাতে স্বর্গে ধন পাইবে; আর আইস, আমার পশ্চাদ্‌গামী হও।
23 কিন্তু এ কথা শুনিয়া সে অতিশয় দুঃখিত হইল, কারণ সে অতিশয় ধনবান্‌ ছিল।
24 তখন তাহার প্রতি দৃষ্টি করিয়া যীশু কহিলেন, যাহাদের ধন আছে, তাহাদের পক্ষে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করা কেমন দুষ্কর!
25 বাস্তবিক ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে ধনবানের প্রবেশ করা অপেক্ষা বরং সূচীর ছিদ্র দিয়া উষ্ট্রের প্রবেশ করা সহজ।
26 যাহারা শুনিল, তাহারা বলিল, তবে কাহার পরিত্রাণ হইতে পারে?
27 তিনি কহিলেন, যাহা মনুষ্যের অসাধ্য, তাহা ঈশ্বরের সাধ্য।
28 তখন পিতর কহিলেন, দেখুন, আমরা যাহা যাহা নিজের, সে সকল পরিত্যাগ করিয়া আপনার পশ্চাদ্‌গামী হইয়াছি।
29 তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, আমি তোমাদিগকে সত্য বলিতেছি, এমন কেহ নাই, যে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের নিমিত্ত বাটী কি স্ত্রী কি ভ্রাতৃগণ কি পিতামাতা কি সন্তানসন্ততি ত্যাগ করিলে,
30 ইহকালে তাহারা বহুগুণ এবং আগামী যুগে অনন্ত জীবন না পাইবে।
31 পরে তিনি সেই বারো জনকে কাছে লইয়া তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, দেখ, আমরা যিরূশালেমে যাইতেছি; আর ভাববাদিগণ দ্বারা যাহা যাহা লিখিত হইয়াছে, সে সমস্ত মনুষ্যপুত্রে সিদ্ধ হইবে।
32 কারণ তিনি পরজাতীয়দের হস্তে সমর্পিত হইবেন, এবং লোকেরা তাঁহাকে বিদ্রূপ করিবে, তাঁহার অপমান করিবে, তাঁহার গায়ে থুথু দিবে;
33 এবং কোড়া প্রহার করিয়া তাঁহাকে বধ করিবে; পরে তৃতীয় দিবসে তিনি পুনরায় উঠিবেন।
34 এই সকলের কিছুই তাঁহারা বুঝিলেন না, এই কথা তাঁহাদের হইতে গুপ্ত রহিল, এবং কি কি বলা যাইতেছে, তাহা তাঁহারা বুঝিয়া উঠিতে পারিলেন না।
35 আর যখন তিনি যিরীহোর নিকটবর্ত্তী হইলেন, এক জন অন্ধ পথের পার্শ্বে বসিয়া ভিক্ষা করিতেছিল;
36 সে লোকদের গমনের শব্দ শুনিয়া জিজ্ঞাসা করিল, ইহার কারণ কি?
37 লোকে তাহাকে বলিল, নাসরতীয় যীশু সেখান দিয়া যাইতেছেন।
38 তখন সে উচ্চৈঃস্বরে কহিল, হে যীশু, দায়ূদ-সন্তান, আমার প্রতি দয়া করুন।
39 যাহারা আগে আগে যাইতেছিল, তাহারা চুপ চুপ বলিয়া তাহাকে ধমক্‌ দিল, কিন্তু সে আরও অধিক চেঁচাইয়া বলিতে লাগিল, হে দায়ূদ-সন্তান, আমার প্রতি দয়া করুন।
40 তখন যীশু থামিয়া তাহাকে তাঁহার নিকটে আনিতে আজ্ঞা করিলেন; পরে সে নিকটে আসিলে তিনি তাহাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করিলেন, তুমি কি চাও?
41 আমি তোমার নিমিত্ত কি করিব? সে কহিল, প্রভু, যেন দেখিতে পাই।
42 যীশু তাহাকে কহিলেন, দেখিতে পাও; তোমার বিশ্বাস তোমাকে সুস্থ করিল।
43 তাহাতে সে তৎক্ষণাৎ দেখিতে পাইল, এবং ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করিতে করিতে তাঁহার পশ্চাৎ পশ্চাৎ গমন করিল। তাহা দেখিয়া সকল লোক ঈশ্বরের স্তব করিল।

22 Now G1161 when Jesus G2424 heard G191 these things, G5023 he said G2036 unto him, G846 Yet G2089 lackest G3007 thou G4671 one thing: G1520 sell G4453 all G3956 that G3745 thou hast, G2192 and G2532 distribute G1239 unto the poor, G4434 and G2532 thou shalt have G2192 treasure G2344 in G1722 heaven: G3772 and G2532 come, G1204 follow G190 me. 25 For G1063 it is G2076 easier G2123 for a camel G2574 to go G1525 through G1223 a needle's G4476 eye, G5168 than G2228 for a rich man G4145 to enter G1525 into G1519 the G3588 kingdom G932 of God. G2316
26 And G1161 they that heard G191 it said, G2036 Who G5101 then G2532 can G1410 be saved G4982 ?
27 And G1161 he G3588 said, G2036 The things which are impossible G102 with G3844 men G444 are G2076 possible G1415 with G3844 God. G2316
