1 বিশ্রামবারে তাঁহারা বিধিমতে বিশ্রাম করিলেন। কিন্তু সপ্তাহের প্রথম দিন অতি প্রত্যূষে তাঁহারা কবরের নিকটে আসিলেন, যে সুগন্ধি দ্রব্য প্রস্তুত করিয়াছিলেন, তাহা লইয়া আসিলেন;
2 আর দেখিলেন, কবর হইতে প্রস্তরখানা সরান গিয়াছে,
3 কিন্তু ভিতরে গিয়া প্রভু যীশুর দেহ দেখিতে পাইলেন না।
4 তাঁহারা এই বিষয় ভাবিতেছেন, এমন সময়ে, দেখ, উজ্জ্বল বস্ত্র পরিহিত দুই পুরুষ তাঁহাদের নিকটে দাঁড়াইলেন।
5 তখন তাঁহারা ভীত হইয়া ভূমির দিকে মুখ নত করিলে সেই দুই ব্যক্তি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, মৃতদের মধ্যে জীবিতের অন্বেষণ কেন করিতেছ?
6 তিনি এখানে নাই, কিন্তু উঠিয়াছেন। গালীলে থাকিতে থাকিতেই তিনি তোমাদিগকে যাহা বলিয়াছিলেন, তাহা স্মরণ কর;
7 তিনি ত বলিয়াছিলেন, মনুষ্যপুত্রকে পাপী মনুষ্যদের হস্তে সমর্পিত হইতে হইবে, ক্রুশারোপিত হইতে এবং তৃতীয় দিবসে উঠিতে হইবে।
8 তখন তাঁহার সেই কথাগুলি তাঁহাদের স্মরণ হইল;
9 আর তাঁহারা কবর হইতে ফিরিয়া গিয়া সেই এগারো জনকে ও অন্য সকলকে এই সমস্ত সংবাদ দিলেন।
10 ইহাঁরা মগ্দলীনী মরিয়ম, যোহানা ও যাকোবের মাতা মরিয়ম; আর ইহাঁদের সঙ্গে অন্য স্ত্রীলোকেরাও প্রেরিতদিগকে এই সকল কথা বলিলেন।
11 কিন্তু এই সকল কথা তাঁহাদের কাছে গল্পতুল্য বোধ হইল; তাঁহারা তাঁহাদের কথায় অবিশ্বাস করিলেন।
12 তথাপি পিতর উঠিয়া কবরের নিকটে দৌড়িয়া গেলেন, এবং হেঁট হইয়া দৃষ্টিপাত করিয়া দেখিলেন, কেবল কাপড় পড়িয়া রহিয়াছে; আর যাহা ঘটিয়াছে, তাহাতে আশ্চর্য্য জ্ঞান করিয়া স্বস্থানে চলিয়া গেলেন।
13 আর দেখ, সেই দিন তাঁহাদের দুই জন যিরূশালেম হইতে চারি ক্রোশ দূরবর্ত্তী ইম্মায়ূ নামক গ্রামে যাইতেছিলেন,
14 এবং তাঁহারা ঐ সকল ঘটনার বিষয়ে পরস্পর কথোপকথন করিতেছিলেন।
15 তাঁহারা কথোপকথন ও পরস্পর জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করিতেছেন, এমন সময়ে যীশু আপনি নিকটে আসিয়া তাঁহাদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে গমন করিতে লাগিলেন;
16 কিন্তু তাঁহাদের চক্ষু রুদ্ধ হইয়াছিল, তাই তাঁহাকে চিনিতে পারিলেন না।
17 তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, তোমরা চলিতে চলিতে পরস্পর যে সকল কথা বলাবলি করিতেছ, সে সকল কি? তাঁহারা বিষণ্ণ ভাবে দাঁড়াইয়া রহিলেন।
18 পরে ক্লিয়পা নামে তাঁহাদের এক জন উত্তর করিয়া তাঁহাকে কহিলেন, আপনি কি একা যিরূশালেমে প্রবাস করিতেছেন, আর এই কয়েক দিনের মধ্যে তথায় যে সকল ঘটনা হইয়াছে, তাহা জানেন না?
19 তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, কি কি প্রকার ঘটনা? তাঁহারা তাঁহাকে বলিলেন, নাসরতীয় যীশু বিষয়ক ঘটনা, যিনি ঈশ্বরের ও সকল লোকের সাক্ষাতে কার্য্যে ও বাক্যে পরাক্রমী ভাববাদী ছিলেন;
20 আর কিরূপে প্রধান যাজকেরা ও আমাদের অধ্যক্ষেরা প্রাণদণ্ডাজ্ঞার জন্য তাঁহাকে সমর্পণ করিলেন, ও ক্রুশে দিলেন।
21 কিন্তু আমরা আশা করিতেছিলাম যে, তিনিই সেই ব্যক্তি, যিনি ইস্রায়েলকে মুক্ত করিবেন। আর এ সব ছাড়া আজ তিন দিন চলিতেছে, এ সকল ঘটিয়াছে।
22 আবার আমাদের কয়েকটী স্ত্রীলোক আমাদিগকে চমৎকৃত করিলেন; তাঁহারা প্রত্যূষে তাঁহার কবরের কাছে গিয়াছিলেন,
23 আর তাঁহার দেহ দেখিতে না পাইয়া আসিয়া কহিলেন, স্বর্গ-দূতদেরও দর্শন পাইয়াছি, তাঁহারা বলেন, তিনি জীবিত আছেন।
24 আর আমাদের সঙ্গীদের মধ্যে কেহ কেহ কবরের কাছে গিয়া, সেই স্ত্রীলোকেরা যেমন বলিয়াছিলেন, তেমনি দেখিতে পাইলেন, কিন্তু তাঁহাকে দেখিতে পান নাই।
25 তখন তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, হে অবোধেরা, এবং ভাববাদিগণ যে সমস্ত কথা বলিয়াছেন, সেই সকলে বিশ্বাস করণে শিথিল-চিত্তেরা,
26 খ্রীষ্টের কি আবশ্যক ছিল না যে, এই সমস্ত দুঃখভোগ করেন ও আপন প্রতাপে প্রবেশ করেন?
27 পরে তিনি মোশি হইতে ও সমুদয় ভাববাদী হইতে আরম্ভ করিয়া সমুদয় শাস্ত্রে তাঁহার নিজের বিষয়ে যে সকল কথা আছে, তাহা তাঁহাদিগকে বুঝাইয়া দিলেন।
28 পরে তাঁহারা যেখানে যাইতেছিলেন, সেই গ্রামের নিকটে উপস্থিত হইলেন; আর তিনি অগ্রে যাইবার লক্ষণ দেখাইলেন।
29 কিন্তু তাঁহারা সাধ্যসাধনা করিয়া কহিলেন, আমাদের সঙ্গে অবস্থিতি করুন, কারণ সন্ধ্যা হইয়া আসিল, বেলা প্রায় গিয়াছে। তাহাতে তিনি তাঁহাদের সঙ্গে অবস্থিতি করিবার জন্য গৃহে প্রবেশ করিলেন।
30 পরে যখন তিনি তাঁহাদের সঙ্গে ভোজনে বসিলেন, তখন রুটী লইয়া আশীর্ব্বাদ করিলেন, এবং ভাঙ্গিয়া তাঁহাদিগকে দিতে লাগিলেন।
31 অমনি তাঁহাদের চক্ষু খুলিয়া গেল, তাঁহারা তাঁহাকে চিনিলেন; আর তিনি তাঁহাদের হইতে অন্তর্হিত হইলেন।
32 তখন তাঁহারা পরস্পর কহিলেন, পথের মধ্যে যখন তিনি আমাদের সহিত কথা বলিতেছিলেন, আমাদের কাছে শাস্ত্রের অর্থ খুলিয়া দিতেছিলেন, তখন আমাদের অন্তরে আমাদের চিত্ত কি উত্তপ্ত হইয়া উঠিতেছিল না?
33 আর তাঁহারা সেই দণ্ডেই উঠিয়া যিরূশালেমে ফিরিয়া গেলেন; এবং সেই এগারো জনকে ও তাঁহাদের সঙ্গীদিগকে সমবেত দেখিতে পাইলেন;
34 তাঁহারা বলিলেন, প্রভু নিশ্চয়ই উঠিয়াছেন, এবং শিমোনকে দেখা দিয়াছেন।
35 পরে সেই দুই জন পথের ঘটনার বিষয়, এবং রুটী ভাঙ্গিবার সময়ে তাঁহারা কি প্রকারে তাঁহাকে চিনিতে পারিয়াছিলেন, এই সকল বৃত্তান্ত বলিলেন।
36 তাঁহারা পরস্পর এই সকল কথোপকথন করিতেছেন, ইতিমধ্যে তিনি আপনি তাঁহাদের মধ্যস্থানে দাঁড়াইলেন, ও তাঁহাদিগকে বলিলেন, তোমাদের শান্তি হউক।
37 ইহাতে তাঁহারা মহাভীত ও ত্রাসযুক্ত হইয়া মনে করিলেন, আত্মা দেখিতেছি।
38 তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, কেন উদ্বিগ্ন হইতেছ? তোমাদের অন্তরে বিতর্কের উদয়ই বা কেন হইতেছে?
39 আমার হাত ও আমার পা দেখ, এ আমি স্বয়ং; আমাকে স্পর্শ কর, আর দেখ; কারণ আমার যেমন দেখিতেছ, আত্মার এরূপ অস্থি-মাংস নাই।
40 ইহা বলিয়া তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে হাত ও পা দেখাইলেন।
41 তখনও তাঁহারা আনন্দ প্রযুক্ত অবিশ্বাস করিতেছিলেন এবং আশ্চর্য্য জ্ঞান করিতেছিলেন, তাই তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, তোমাদের কাছে এখানে কি কিছু খাদ্য আছে?
42 তখন তাঁহারা তাঁহাকে একখানি ভাজা মাছ দিলেন।
43 তিনি তাহা লইয়া তাঁহাদের সাক্ষাতে ভোজন করিলেন।
44 পরে তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকিতে থাকিতে আমি তোমাদিগকে যাহা বলিয়াছিলাম, আমার সেই বাক্য এই, মোশির ব্যবস্থায় ও ভাববাদিগণের গ্রন্থে এবং গীতসংহিতায় আমার বিষয়ে যাহা যাহা লিখিত আছে, সে সকল অবশ্য পূর্ণ হইবে।
45 তখন তিনি তাঁহাদের বুদ্ধিদ্বার খুলিয়া দিলেন, যেন তাঁহারা শাস্ত্র বুঝিতে পারেন;
46 আর তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, এইরূপ লিখিত আছে যে, খ্রীষ্ট দুঃখভোগ করিবেন, এবং তৃতীয় দিনে মৃতগণের মধ্য হইতে উঠিবেন;
47 আর তাঁহার নামে পাপমোচনার্থক মনপরিবর্ত্তনের কথা সর্ব্বজাতির কাছে প্রচারিত হইবে—যিরূশালেম হইতে আরম্ভ করা হইবে।
48 তোমরাই এ সকলের সাক্ষী।
49 আর দেখ, আমার পিতা যাহা প্রতিজ্ঞা করিয়াছেন, তাহা আমি তোমাদের নিকটে প্রেরণ করিতেছি; কিন্তু যে পর্য্যন্ত ঊর্দ্ধ হইতে শক্তিপরিহিত না হও, সেই পর্য্যন্ত তোমরা এই নগরে অবস্থিতি কর।
50 পরে তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে বৈথনিয়ার সম্মুখ পর্য্যন্ত লইয়া গেলেন; এবং হাত তুলিয়া তাঁহাদিগকে আশীর্ব্বাদ করিলেন।
51 পরে এইরূপ হইল, তিনি আশীর্ব্বাদ করিতে করিতে তাঁহাদের হইতে পৃথক্‌ হইলেন, এবং ঊর্দ্ধে, স্বর্গে নীত হইতে লাগিলেন।
52 আর তাঁহারা তাঁহাকে প্রণাম করিয়া মহানন্দে যিরূশালেমে ফিরিয়া গেলেন;
53 এবং নিরন্তর ধর্ম্মধামে থাকিয়া ঈশ্বেরর ধন্যবাদ করিতে থাকিলেন।
