1 প্রাচীর নির্ম্মিত হইলে পর আমি দ্বার সকলের কবাট স্থাপন করিলাম, এবং দ্বারপালকেরা, গায়কেরা ও লেবীয়েরা নিযুক্ত হইল।
2 আর আমি আপন ভ্রাতা হনানিকে ও দুর্গের শাসনকর্ত্তা হনানিয়কে যিরূশালেমের উপরে নিযুক্ত করিলাম, কেননা হনানিয় বিশ্বস্ত লোক ছিলেন, এবং অনেক লোক অপেক্ষা ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করিতেন।
3 আর আমি তাঁহাদিগকে বলিলাম, যাবৎ রৌদ্র প্রচণ্ড না হয়, তাবৎ যিরূশালেমের দ্বার সকল খোলা না হউক; এবং রক্ষকেরা নিকটে দণ্ডায়মান থাকিতে দ্বার সকল রুদ্ধ ও কবাট অর্গলে বদ্ধ হউক; এবং তোমরা যিরূশালেম-নিবাসীদিগকে প্রহরী নিযুক্ত কর, তাহারা প্রত্যেকে আপন আপন প্রহরি-স্থানে, আপন আপন গৃহের সম্মুখে, থাকুক।
4 নগর বৃহৎ ও বিস্তারিত, কিন্তু তন্মধ্যে লোক অল্প ছিল, গৃহ সকলও নির্ম্মাণ করা যায় নাই।
5 পরে আমার ঈশ্বর আমার মনে প্রবৃত্তি দিলে আমি প্রধানদিগকে, অধ্যক্ষদিগকে ও লোকদিগকে একত্র করিলাম, যেন তাহাদের বংশাবলি লেখা হয়। আর আমি প্রথমাগত লোকদের বংশাবলি পত্র পাইলাম, তন্মধ্যে এই কথা লিখিত পাইলাম;—
6 যাহারা বন্দিরূপে নীত হইয়াছিল, বাবিল-রাজ নবূখদ্‌নিৎসর যাহাদিগকে বন্দি করিয়া লইয়া গিয়াছিলেন, তাহাদের মধ্যে প্রদেশের এই লোকেরা বন্দিদশা হইতে যাত্রা করিয়া যিরূশালেমে ও যিহূদাতে আপন আপন নগরে ফিরিয়া আসিল;
7 তাহারা সরুব্বাবিল, যেশূয়, নহিমিয়, অসরিয়, রয়মিয়া, নহমানি, মর্দখয়, বিল্‌শন, মিস্পরৎ, বিগ্‌বয়, নহূম ও বানা, ইহাঁদের সহিত ফিরিয়া আসিল। সেই ইস্রায়েল লোকদের পুরুষ-সংখ্যা;
8 পরোশের সন্তান দুই সহস্র এক শত বাহাত্তর জন।
9 শফটিয়ের সন্তান তিন শত বাহাত্তর জন।
10 আরহের সন্তান ছয় শত বাহান্ন জন।
11 যেশূয় ও যোয়াবের সন্তানদের মধ্যে পহৎ-মোয়াবের সন্তান দুই সহস্র আট শত আঠার জন।
12 এলমের সন্তান এক সহস্র দুই শত চুয়ান্ন জন।
13 সত্তূর সন্তান আট শত পঁয়তাল্লিশ জন।
14 সক্কয়ের সন্তান সাত শত ষাট জন।
15 বিন্নূয়ির সন্তান ছয় শত আটচল্লিশ জন।
16 বেবয়ের সন্তান ছয় আটাশ জন।
17 আস্‌গদের সন্তান দুই সহস্র তিন শত বাইশ জন।
18 অদোনীকামের সন্তান ছয় শত সাতষট্টি জন।
19 বিগ্‌বয়ের সন্তান দুই সহস্র সাতষট্টি জন।
20 আদীনের সন্তান ছয় শত পঞ্চান্ন জন।
21 যিহিষ্কিয়ের বংশজাত আটেরের সন্তান আটানব্বই জন।
22 হশুমের সন্তান তিন শত আটাশ জন।
23 বেৎসয়ের সন্তান তিন শত চব্বিশ জন।
24 হারীফের সন্তান এক শত বারো জন।
25 গিবিয়োনের সন্তান পঁচানব্বই জন।
26 বৈৎলেহমের ও নটোফার লোক এক শত অষ্টাশী জন।
27 অনাথোতের লোক এক শত আটাশ জন।
28 বৈৎ-অস্মাবতের লোক বিয়াল্লিশ জন।
29 কিরিয়ৎ-যিয়ারীম, কফীরা ও বেরোতের লোক সাত শত তেতাল্লিশ জন।
30 রামার ও গেবার লোক ছয় শত একুশ জন।
31 মিক্‌মসের লোক এক শত বাইশ জন।
32 বৈথেলের ও অয়ের লোক এক শত তেইশ জন।
33 অন্য নবোর লোক বাহান্ন জন।
34 অন্য এলমের সন্তান এক সহস্র দুই শত চুয়ান্ন জন।
35 হারীমের সন্তান তিন শত কুড়ি জন।
36 যিরীহোর সন্তান তিন শত পঁয়তাল্লিশ জন।
37 লোদ, হাদীদ ও ওনোর সন্তান সাত শত একুশ জন।
38 সনায়ার সন্তান তিন সহস্র নয় শত ত্রিশ জন।
39 যাজকবর্গ; যেশূয় কুলের মধ্যে যিদয়িয়ের সন্তান নয় শত তিয়াত্তর জন।
40 ইম্মেরের সন্তান এক সহস্র বাহান্ন জন।
41 পশ্‌হূরের সন্তান এক সহস্র দুই শত সাতচল্লিশ জন।
42 হারীমের সন্তান এক সহস্র সতের জন।
43 লেবীয়বর্গ; হোদবিয়ের সন্তানদের মধ্যে যেশূয় ও কদ্‌মীয়েলের সন্তান চুয়াত্তর জন।
44 গায়কবর্গ; আসফের সন্তান এক শত আটচল্লিশ জন।
45 দ্বারপালবর্গ; শল্লুমের সন্তান, আটেরের সন্তান, টল্‌মোনের সন্তান, অক্কুবের সন্তান, হটীটার সন্তান, শোবয়ের সন্তান, এক শত আটত্রিশ জন।
46 নথীনীয়বর্গ; সীহের সন্তান, হসূফার সন্তান, টব্বায়োতের সন্তান,
47 কেরোসের সন্তান, সীয়ের সন্তান,
48 পাদোনের সন্তান, লবানার সন্তান,
49 হগাবের সন্তান, শল্‌ময়ের সন্তান, হাননের সন্তান,
50 গিদ্দেলের সন্তান, গহরের সন্তান,
51 রায়ার সন্তান, রৎসীনের সন্তান, নকোদের সন্তান, গসমের সন্তান, ঊষের সন্তান,
52 পাসেহের সন্তান, বেষয়ের সন্তান, মিয়ূনীমের সন্তান,
53 নফুষযীমের সন্তান, বকবূকের সন্তান,
54 হকূফার সন্তান, হর্হূরের সন্তান,
55 বসলীতের সন্তান, মহীদার সন্তান, হর্শার সন্তান, বর্কোসের সন্তান, সীষরার সন্তান,
56 তেমহের সন্তান, নৎসীহের সন্তান, হটীফার সন্তানবর্গ।
57 শলোমনের দাসদের সন্তানবর্গ;
58 সোটয়ের সন্তান, সোফেরতের সন্তান, পরীদার সন্তান, যালার সন্তান,
59 দর্কোনের সন্তান, গিদ্দেলের সন্তান, শফটিয়ের সন্তান, হটীলের সন্তান, পোখেরৎ-হৎসবায়ীমের সন্তান, আমোনের সন্তানগণ।
60 নথীনীয়েরা ও শলোমনের দাসদের সন্তান সর্ব্বশুদ্ধ তিন শত বিরানব্বই জন ছিল।
61 আর তেল্‌মেলহ, তেল্‌হর্শা, করূব, অদ্দন, ও ইম্মের, এই সকল স্থান হইতে নিম্নলিখিত লোক সকল আসিল; কিন্তু তাহারা ইস্রায়েলীয় লোক কি না, এ বিষয়ে আপন আপন পিতৃকুল কি গোত্রের প্রমাণ দিতে পারিল না;
62 দলায়ের সন্তান, টোবিয়ের সন্তান, নকোদের সন্তান ছয় শত বিয়াল্লিশ জন।
63 আর যাজকদের মধ্যে হবায়ের সন্তান, হক্কোসের সন্তান ও বর্সিল্লয়ের সন্তানবর্গ; এই বর্সিল্লয় গিলিয়দীয় বর্সিল্লয়ের এক কন্যাকে বিবাহ করিয়া তাহাদের নামে আখ্যাত হইয়াছিল।
64 বংশাবলিতে বর্ণিত লোকদের মধ্যে ইহারা আপন আপন বংশাবলিপত্র অন্বেষণ করিয়া পাইল না, এই জন্য ইহারা অশুচি গণিত হইয়া যাজকের পদ হইতে ভ্রষ্ট হইল।
65 আর শাসনকর্ত্তা তাহাদিগকে কহিলেন, যে পর্য্যন্ত ঊরীম ও তুম্মীমের অধিকারী এক যাজক উৎপন্ন না হইবেন, তাবৎ তোমরা পবিত্র বস্তু ভোজন করিও না।
66 একত্রীকৃত সমস্ত সমাজ বিয়াল্লিশ সহস্র তিন শত ষাট জন ছিল।
67 তদ্ভিন্ন তাহাদের সাত সহস্র তিন শত সাঁইত্রিশ জন দাস দাসী ছিল, আর তাহাদের দুই শত পঁয়তাল্লিশ জন গায়ক ও গায়িকা ছিল।
68 তাহাদের সাত শত ছত্রিশটী অশ্ব,
69 দুই শত পঁয়তাল্লিশটী অশ্বতর, চারি শত পঁয়ত্রিশটী উষ্ট্র ও ছয় সহস্র সাত শত কুড়িটী গর্দ্দভ ছিল।
70 পিতৃকুলপতিদের মধ্যে কেহ কেহ সেই কর্ম্মের জন্য দান করিল। শাসনকর্ত্তা ভাণ্ডারে স্বর্ণের এক সহস্র অদর্কোন ও পঞ্চাশটী বাটী এবং যাজকদের জন্য পাঁচ শত ত্রিশটী অঙ্গরক্ষক দিলেন।
71 কয়েক জন পিতৃকুলপতি সেই কর্ম্মের ভাণ্ডারে স্বর্ণের বিংশতি সহস্র অদর্কোন ও দুই সহস্র দুই শত মানি রৌপ্য দিল।
72 অন্য লোকেরা স্বর্ণের বিংশতি সহস্র অদর্কোন, দুই সহস্র মানি রৌপ্য ও যাজকদের জন্য সাতষট্টিটী অঙ্গরক্ষক দিল।
73 পরে যাজকেরা, লেবীয়েরা, দ্বারপালেরা ও গায়কেরা, এবং কোন কোন প্রজা ও নথীনীয়েরা এবং সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল আপন আপন নগরে বাস করিতে লাগিল।
