1 প্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,
2 “ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলো| বারোটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠী প্রত্যেকটির নেতার কাছ থেকে একটি করে মোট বারোটি হাঁটার লাঠি বা ছড়ি নিয়ে এসো| প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তির নাম তার লাঠির ওপরে লেখো|
3 লেবি গোষ্ঠীর লাঠির ওপরে হারোণের নাম লেখ| বারোটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর প্রত্যেকটির নেতার জন্য অবশ্যই একটি করে লাঠি থাকবে|
4 এই লাঠিগুলোকে সাক্ষ্যসিন্দুকের সামনে সমাগম তাঁবুতে রাখো| এটাই সেই জায়গা যেখানে আমি তোমার সঙ্গে দেখা করি|
5 সত্যিকারের যাজক হওয়ার জন্য আমি একজনকে মনোনীত করব| আমি যে ব্যক্তিকে মনোনীত করব তার হাঁটার লাঠিতে নতুন পাতা গজাতে শুরু করবে| এই ভাবে আমি তোমার এবং আমার বিরুদ্ধে লোকদের অভিয়োগ করা বন্ধ করে দেবো|”
6 সুতরাং মোশি ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলল| নেতারা প্রত্যেকেই তাকে লাঠি দিলেন| সেখানে মোট বারোটি লাঠি হল| প্রত্যেক পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর প্রত্যেক নেতার কাছ থেকে পাওয়া একটি করে লাঠি সেখানে ছিল| লাঠিগুলোর মধ্যে একটি ছিল হারোণের|
7 চুক্তির তাঁবুতে প্রভুর সামনে মোশি লাঠিগুলো রেখে দিল|
8 পরদিন মোশি তাঁবুতে প্রবেশ করে হারোণের লাঠিটি দেখল| লেবি পরিবারের কাছ থেকে পাওয়া এই লাঠিই ছিল একমাত্র লাঠি যাতে নতুন পাতা গজিযেছিল| সেই লাঠিটিতে শাখা প্রশাখা গজিযেছিল এবং বাদামও ফলেছিল|
9 সেই কারণে মোশি প্রভুর সেই স্থান থেকে সমস্ত লাঠিগুলো নিয়ে এল| মোশি ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সেই লাঠিগুলো দেখালেন| তারা সকলেই লাঠিগুলো দেখল এবং প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তাদের লাঠিগুলো ফিরিযে নিয়ে গেল|
10 তখন প্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “চুক্তি সিন্দুকের সামনে পবিত্র তাঁবুর ভেতরে পেছনদিকে হারোণের লাঠিটিকে রাখো| এই যে সব লোক, যারা সব সমযেই আমার বিরোধিতা করে তাদের জন্য এটি একটি সতর্কীকরণ| এতে আমার বিরুদ্ধে অভিয়োগ করা বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে যার ফলে আমি তাদের ধ্বংস করব না|”
11 সুতরাং মোশি প্রভুর আজ্ঞা অনুসারেই কাজ করল|
12 ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা মোশিকে বলল, “দেখ, আমরা মারা পড়তে বসেছি| আমরা শেষ হয়ে যাব| আমরা সকলেই ধ্বংস হয়ে যাব|
13 যে কোনোও ব্যক্তি প্রভুর পবিত্র তাঁবুর কাছে আসে সে মারা যায়| তবে কি আমরা সকলেই মারা যাবো?”
1 And the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , saying H559 ,
2 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and take H3947 of every one of them a rod H4294 according to the house H1004 of their fathers H1 NMS , of all H3605 NMS their princes H5387 according to the house H1004 of their fathers H1 twelve H8147 rods H4294 : write H3789 thou every man H376 \'s name H8034 CMS-3MS upon H5921 PREP his rod H4294 .
3 And thou shalt write H3789 Aaron H175 \'s name H8034 CMS upon H5921 PREP the rod H4294 of Levi H3878 : for H3588 one H259 MMS rod H4294 shall be for the head H7218 of the house H1004 CMS of their fathers H1 CMP-3MP .
4 And thou shalt lay them up H5117 in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 NMS before H6440 the testimony H5715 , where H834 I will meet H3259 with you .
5 And it shall come to pass H1961 , that the man H376 D-NMS \'s rod H4294 , whom H834 I shall choose H977 , shall blossom H6524 : and I will make to cease H7918 from PREP me the murmurings H8519 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , whereby H834 they H1992 PPRO-3MP murmur H3885 against H5921 PREP you .
6 And Moses H4872 spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and every one H3605 NMS of their princes H5387 gave H5414 W-VQY3MP him a rod H4294 apiece H5387 , for each prince H5387 one H259 MMS , according to their fathers H1 \' houses H1004 , even twelve H8147 rods H4294 : and the rod H4294 of Aaron H175 was among H8432 their rods H4294 .
7 And Moses H4872 laid up H5117 the rods H4294 before H6440 the LORD H3068 EDS in the tabernacle H168 of witness H5715 .
8 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS , that on the morrow H4283 Moses H4872 went H935 W-VQY3MS into H413 PREP the tabernacle H168 NMS of witness H5715 ; and , behold H2009 IJEC , the rod H4294 of Aaron H175 for the house H1004 of Levi H3878 was budded H6524 , and brought forth H3318 buds H6525 , and bloomed H6692 blossoms H6731 , and yielded H1580 almonds H8247 .
9 And Moses H4872 brought out H3318 W-VHY3MS all H3605 NMS the rods H4294 from before H6440 ML-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS unto H413 PREP all H3605 NMS the children H1121 of Israel H3478 : and they looked H7200 W-VQY3MP , and took H3947 W-VQY3MP every man H376 his rod H4294 .
10 And the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , Bring H7725 VHFA Aaron H175 \'s rod H4294 again before H6440 the testimony H5715 , to be kept H4931 for a token H226 L-CMS against the rebels H1121 L-CMP ; and thou shalt quite take away H3615 their murmurings H8519 from PREP me , that they die H4191 not H3808 W-NADV .
11 And Moses H4872 did H6213 so : as H834 K-RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS commanded H6680 VPQ3MS him , so H3651 did H6213 VQQ3MS he .
12 And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 spoke H559 unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Behold H2005 IJEC , we die H1478 , we perish H6 , we all H3605 NMS perish H6 .
13 Whosoever H3605 NMS cometh any thing near H7131 unto H413 PREP the tabernacle H4908 of the LORD H3068 EDS shall die H4191 VQY3MS : shall we be consumed H8552 with dying H1478 ?
