1 হে সদাপ্রভু, কেন দূরে দাঁড়াইয়া থাক? সঙ্কটের সময়ে কেন লুকাইয়া থাক?
2 দুষ্টের গর্ব্ব প্রযুক্ত দুঃখী আগুনে পোড়ে, উহাদের কল্পিত ছলে উহারাই ধরা পড়ুক।
3 কেননা দুষ্ট আপন মনোরথের শ্লাঘা করে, লোভী সদাপ্রভুকে জলাঞ্জলি দেয়, অবজ্ঞা করে।
4 দুষ্ট লোক নাক তুলিয়া বলে, তিনি অনুসন্ধান করিবেন না; ঈশ্বর নাই, ইহাই তাহার চিন্তার সার।
5 তাহার পথ সর্ব্বদা দৃঢ়; তোমার শাসনকলাপ ঊর্দ্ধ, তাহার দৃষ্টির বহির্ভূত; সমস্ত বিপক্ষের প্রতি সে ফুৎকার করে।
6 সে মনে মনে বলে, আমি বিচলিত হইব না, পুরুষানুক্রমে কখন বিপদ্‌গ্রস্ত হইব না।
7 তাহার মুখ অভিশাপ, ছলনা ও শঠতায় পূর্ণ; তাহার জিহ্বার নীচে উপদ্রব ও অন্যায় থাকে।
8 সে গ্রামের গুপ্ত স্থানে বসিয়া থাকে, নিভৃত স্থানে নির্দ্দোষকে বধ করে; তাহার চক্ষু অনাথকে ধরিবার জন্য লুক্কায়িত।
9 সিংহ যেমন গহ্বরে, সে তেমনি গুপ্ত স্থানে থাকে, দুঃখীকে ধরিবার জন্য অন্তরালে থাকে; সে দুঃখীকে ধরে, আপন জালে টানে।
10 সে গুঁড়ি মারে, সে অবনত হয়, অনাথেরা তাহার প্রবল থাবায় পতিত হয়।
11 সে মনে মনে বলে, ঈশ্বর ভুলিয়া গিয়াছেন, তিনি মুখ লুকাইয়াছেন, কখনও দেখিবেন না;
12 হে সদাপ্রভু, উঠ; হে ঈশ্বর, আপন হস্ত তোল। দুঃখীদিগকে ভুলিয়া যাইও না।
13 দুষ্ট কেন ঈশ্বরকে অবজ্ঞা করে, মনে মনে বলে, তুমি অনুসন্ধান করিবে না?
14 তুমি দেখিয়াছ, কেননা তুমি উপদ্রব ও দ্বেষের প্রতি দৃষ্টিপাত করিতেছ, যেন তাহার প্রতীকার স্বহস্তে কর; অনাথ তোমারই উপরে ভার সমর্পণ করে; তুমিই পিতৃহীনের সহায়।
15 দুষ্টের বাহু ভাঙ্গিয়া ফেল, দুর্ব্বৃত্তের দুষ্টতার অনুসন্ধান কর, যাবৎ লেশমাত্র না থাকে।
16 সদাপ্রভু অনন্তকালীন রাজা; জাতিগণ তাঁহার দেশ হইতে লুপ্ত হইয়াছে।
17 হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি নম্রদের আকাঙ্ক্ষা শুনিয়াছ; তুমি তাহাদের চিত্ত সুস্থির করিবে, তুমি কর্ণপাত করিবে;
18 পিতৃহীনের ও উপদ্রুত লোকদের বিচার করিবার জন্য, যেন মৃত্তিকাজাত মর্ত্ত্য আর দুর্দ্দান্ত না থাকে।
