1 মনঃশি ছিলেন য়োষেফের পুত্র| মনঃশির পুত্র ছিলেন মাখীর| মাখীরের পুত্র ছিলেন গিলিয়দ| মোশি এবং ইস্রায়েলের পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর নেতাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার জন্য গিলিয়দ পরিবারের নেতারা গিয়েছিলেন|
2 তাঁরা বললেন, “ঘুঁটি চেলে জমি নিতে প্রভু আমাদের আদেশ করেছিলেন| মহাশয়, প্রভু আমাদের আদেশ করেছিলেন যে সল্ফাদের জমি তার কন্যারাই পাবে| সল্ফাদ আমাদেরই ভাই ছিলেন|
3 হতে পারে, অন্যান্য পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর যে কোনো একটির থেকে একজন ব্যক্তি সল্ফাদের কন্যাদের মধ্যে কোনো একজনকে বিয়ে করবে| সেই জমি কি তাহলে আমাদের পরিবারের বাইরে চলে যাবে? সেম্প অন্য পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর লোকরা কি সেম্প জমি পাবে? ঘুঁটি চেলে আমরা যে জমি পেয়েছিলাম, সেটি কি আমরা হারাবো?
4 লোকরা তাদের জমি বিক্রি করতে পারে| কিন্তু জুবিলী বছরে সমস্ত জমি সেই পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর কাছে ফিরে আসে যারা প্রকৃতই সেটির মালিক| সেই সময়, সল্ফাদের কন্যাদের জমি কে পাবে? আমাদের পরিবার কি সেই জমি চিরকালের জন্য হারাবে?”
5 মোশি ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের এই আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন| এই আদেশটি ছিল প্রভুর কাছ থেকে পাওয়া| “য়োষেফের পরিবারের লোকরা যা বলছে তা ঠিক|
6 সলফাদের কন্যাদের প্রতি প্রভুর আদেশ হল এই: যদি তোমরা কোনো ব্যক্তিকে বিয়ে করতে চাও, তাহলে তোমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের নিজেদের গোষ্ঠীর কোনো ব্যক্তিকেই বিয়ে করবে|
7 এই প্রকারেই ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের মধ্যে এক পরিবারগোষ্ঠী থেকে অন্য পরিবারগোষ্ঠীতে জমি হস্তান্তরিত হবে না| প্রত্যেক ইস্রায়েলীয় তার পূর্বপুরুষের অধিকারভুক্ত জমি রাখবে|
8 এবং যদি কোনো স্ত্রীলোক তার পিতার জমি পায়, তাহলে সে অবশ্যই তার নিজের গোষ্ঠীর কোনো ব্যক্তিকেই বিবাহ করবে| এই প্রকারে প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তার পূর্বপুরুষের অধিকারভুক্ত জমি রাখবে|
9 “সুতরাং ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের মধ্যে এক গোষ্ঠী থেকে অন্য পরিবারগোষ্ঠীতে জমি অবশ্যই হস্তান্তরিত হবে না| প্রত্যেক ইস্রায়েলীয় তার নিজের পূর্বপুরুষের অধিকারভুক্ত জমি রাখবে|”
10 সল্ফাদের কন্যারা মোশিকে দেওয়া প্রভুর আদেশ মান্য করেছিল|
11 সেই কারণে সলফাদের কন্যারা মহলা, তির্সা, হগ্লা, মিল্কা এবং নোয়া - পরিবারে তাদের পিতার দিকের, জ্ঞাতি ভাইদের বিবাহ করেছিল|
12 তাদের স্বামীরা ছিল মনঃশি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর অন্তর্ভুক্ত, সেই কারণে তাদের জমি তাদের পিতার পরিবার এবং পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর অধিকারেই ছিল|
13 সুতরাং ঐগুলোই হল আইন এবং আদেশ যা যিরীহোর অপর পারে, যর্দন নদীর পাশে মোয়াবের যর্দন উপত্যকায প্রভু মোশিকে দিয়েছিলেন|

2 And they said H559 W-VQY3MP , The LORD H3068 EDS commanded H6680 VPQ3MS my lord H113 to give H5414 L-VQFC the land H776 D-GFS for an inheritance H5159 by lot H1486 to the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 : and my lord H113 was commanded H6680 by the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS to give H5414 L-VQFC the inheritance H5159 of Zelophehad H6765 our brother H251 unto his daughters H1323 .
3 And if they be married H1961 W-VQQ3MS to any H259 of the sons H1121 of the other tribes H7626 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , then shall their inheritance H5159 be taken H1639 from the inheritance H5159 of our fathers H1 , and shall be put H3254 to H5921 PREP the inheritance H5159 of the tribe H4294 whereunto H834 RPRO they are received H1961 : so shall it be taken H1639 from the lot H1486 of our inheritance H5159 .
4 And when H518 W-PART the jubilee H3104 of the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 shall be H1961 VQY3MS , then shall their inheritance H5159 be put H3254 unto H5921 PREP the inheritance H5159 of the tribe H4294 whereunto H834 RPRO they are received H1961 : so shall their inheritance H5159 be taken away H1639 from the inheritance H5159 of the tribe H4294 of our fathers H1 .
5 And Moses H4872 commanded H6680 W-VPY3MS the children H1121 of Israel H3478 according to H5921 PREP the word H6310 of the LORD H3068 EDS , saying H559 L-VQFC , The tribe H4294 of the sons H1121 of Joseph H3130 hath said H1696 well H3651 ADV .
6 This H2088 DPRO is the thing H1697 D-NMS which H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS doth command H6680 VPQ3MS concerning the daughters H1323 L-CFP of Zelophehad H6765 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Let them marry H1961 to whom they think best H2896 ; only H389 ADV to the family H4940 of the tribe H4294 of their father H1 CMS-3MP shall they marry H1961 .
7 So shall not H3808 W-NPAR the inheritance H5159 NFS of the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 remove H5437 from tribe H4294 to H413 PREP tribe H4294 : for H3588 CONJ every one H376 NMS of the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 LMS shall keep H1692 himself to the inheritance H5159 of the tribe H4294 of his fathers H1 .
8 And every H3605 W-CMS daughter H1323 CFS , that possesseth H3423 an inheritance H5159 NFS in any tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , shall be H1961 VQY3FS wife H802 L-NFS unto one H259 of the family H4940 M-CFS of the tribe H4294 of her father H1 , that H4616 L-CONJ the children H1121 of Israel H3478 may enjoy H3423 every man H376 NMS the inheritance H5159 of his fathers H1 .
9 Neither H3808 W-NPAR shall the inheritance H5159 NFS remove H5437 from one tribe H4294 to another H312 AMS tribe H4294 ; but H3588 CONJ every one H376 NMS of the tribes H4294 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 LMS shall keep H1692 himself to his own inheritance H5159 .
10 Even as H834 K-RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS commanded H6680 VPQ3MS Moses H4872 , so H3651 ADV did H6213 VQQ3MP the daughters H1323 CFP of Zelophehad H6765 :
11 For Mahlah H4244 , Tirzah H8656 , and Hoglah H2295 , and Milcah H4435 , and Noah H5270 , the daughters H1323 CFP of Zelophehad H6765 , were married H1961 unto their father\'s brothers H1730 \' sons H1121 L-CMP :
12 And they were married H1961 VQQ3MP into the families H4940 of the sons H1121 of Manasseh H4519 the son H1121 CMS of Joseph H3130 , and their inheritance H5159 remained H1961 W-VQY3FS in H5921 PREP the tribe H4294 of the family H4940 of their father H1 .
13 These H428 PMP are the commandments H4687 and the judgments H4941 , which H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS commanded H6680 VPQ3MS by the hand H3027 B-CFS of Moses H4872 unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 in the plains H6160 of Moab H4124 by H5921 PREP Jordan H3383 LFS near Jericho H3405 .
