1 ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা মিশর ছেড়ে চলে আসার পরে দ্বিতীয় বছরের প্রথম মাসে প্রভু সীনয় মরুভূমিতে মোশির সাথে এই কথা বললেন,

2 “ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের ঠিক সমযে নিস্তারপর্বের পবিত্র দিন উদয়াপন করতে বলে দাও|

3 তারা অবশ্যই এই মাসের 14 তারিখ, গোধুলি বেলায উদ্বারের পবিত্র দিনের খাদ্য গ্রহণ করবে| তারা অবশ্যই নির্ধারিত সমযে এই কাজ করবে এবং নিস্তারপর্বের সকল নিয়ম তারা অবশ্যই পালন করবে|”

4 সুতরাং মোশি ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন করতে বলেছিল|

5 ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা প্রথম মাসের 14 তারিখে গোধুলি বেলায সীনয় মরুভূমিতে নিস্তারপর্ব পালন করেছিল| প্রভু মোশিকে যেভাবে আদেশ করেছিলেন ইস্রায়েলীয়রা ঠিক সেভাবেই কাজ করেছিল|

6 কিন্তু কিছু লোক ঐ দিনটিকে নিস্তারপর্বের পবিত্র দিন হিসেবে উদয়াপন করতে পারে নি| তারা অশুচি ছিল, কারণ তারা একটা মৃতদেহ স্পর্শ করেছিল| সুতরাং তারা ঐ দিনে মোশি এবং হারোণের কাছে গেল|

7 তারা মোশিকে বলল, “আমরা এক ব্যক্তির মৃতদেহ স্পর্শ করে অশুচি হয়েছি| নির্ধারিত সমযে প্রভুকে উপহার দিতে আমাদের বাধা দেওয়া হচ্ছে| সুতরাং আমরা ইস্রায়েলের অন্যান্য লোকদের সঙ্গে নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন করতে পারছি না| আমরা কি করব?”

8 মোশি তাদের বলল, “আমি প্রভুকে জিজ্ঞেস করবো তিনি এ ব্যাপারে কি বলেন|”

9 তখন প্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,

10 “তুমি এই কথাগুলো ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের বলো: এই নিয়ম তোমাদের এবং তোমাদের উত্তরপুরুষদের জন্যই| কোনো একজনের পক্ষে নির্ধারিত সমযে নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন করা সম্ভব নাও হতে পারে| হয়তো সেই ব্যক্তি মৃতদেহ স্পর্শ করে অশুচি হয়েছিল অথবা দূর দেশে যাত্রা করেছিল|

11 তবু সেই ব্যক্তি অন্য কোনোও সমযে নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন করতে পারবে| দ্বিতীয় মাসের 14 তারিখে গোধুলি বেলায অবশ্যই সে নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন করবে| ঐ সমযে তারা অবশ্যই নিস্তারপর্বের মেষ, খামির ছাড়া তৈরী রুটি এবং কিছু তেতো শাকপাতা দিয়ে খাবে|

12 তারা পরের দিন সকাল পর্য়ন্ত ঐ খাবারের কোনো কিছুই অবশিষ্ট রাখবে না এবং অবশ্যই সেই মেষের কোনো হাড় ভগ্ন করবে না| সে অবশ্যই নিস্তারপর্বের সব নিয়ম অনুসরণ করবে;

13 কিন্তু যে লোকটি শুচি এবং বেড়াতে যায় নি সে যদি নির্দিষ্ট সময় নিস্তারপর্ব উদয়াপন না করে, তাহলে তাকে অবশ্যই তার লোকদের কাছ থেকে আলাদা করে দেওয়া হবে| সে দোষী এবং শাস্তির য়োগ্য় কারণ সে নির্দিষ্ট সময় প্রভুকে তার উপহার দেয নি|

14 “তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছে এমন কোনো বিদেশী যদি প্রভুর নিস্তারপর্ব উদ্য়াপনের জন্য ইচ্ছুক হয় তাহলে সে অবশ্যই তা করবে কিন্তু সে অবশ্যই নিস্তারপর্বের সকল বিধি অনুসরণ করবে| একই নিয়ম সকলের জন্য প্রয়োজ্য|”

15 যেদিন সমাগম তাঁবু অর্থাত্‌ চুক্তির সেই তাঁবু স্থাপিত হল, সেদিন সন্ধ্যায ঈশ্বরের মেঘ সেটিকে আবৃত করল এবং সকাল পর্য়ন্ত পবিত্র তাঁবুর উপরের মেঘকে ঠিক আগুনের মতো দেখাচ্ছিল|

16 মেঘটি সমস্তক্ষণ পবিত্র তাঁবু আবৃত করত এবং রাত্রে সেটাকে আগুনের মতো দেখাতো|

17 মেঘটি পবিত্র তাঁবুর ওপর থেকে স্থান পরিবর্তন করলে, ইস্রায়েলীয়রা সেটিকে অনুসরণ করল| যখন মেঘটি থামত তখন ইস্রায়েলীয়রা সেখানেই শিবির স্থাপন করত|

18 কখন যাত্রা শুরু করতে হবে, কখন থামতে হবে এবং কখন শিবির স্থাপন করতে হবে সে ব্যাপারে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের প্রভু এই রাস্তাই দেখিয়েছিলেন| যতক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত পবিত্র তাঁবুর উপরে মেঘ থাকত, ততক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত লোকরা সেই একই জায়গায় শিবির স্থাপন করে বসবাস করত|

19 কোনো কোনো সমযে পবিত্র তাঁবুর ওপরে দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে মেঘ থাকতো| ইস্রায়েলীয়রা প্রভুর আদেশ পালন করত এবং সেই স্থান ত্যাগ করত না|

20 কোনো সমযে আবার অল্প কযেকদিনের জন্যে পবিত্র তাঁবুর উপরে মেঘ থাকতো| সুতরাং লোকরা প্রভুর আদেশ পালন করত - যখন মেঘ চলতে শুরু করত, তখন তারাও সেই মেঘকে অনুসরণ করত|

21 কোনো সময় আবার মাত্র এক রাত্রির জন্য মেঘ স্থায়ী হত পরদিন সকালেই আবার চলতে শুরু করত| সুতরাং লোকরা তাদের জিনিসপত্র এক জায়গায় জড়ো করে মেঘকে অনুসরণ করত| দিনের বেলায অথবা রাত্রিতে যখনই মেঘ চলতে শুরু করত তখনই লোকরা তাকে অনুসরণ করত|

22 যদি সেই মেঘ দুদিন অথবা এক মাস অথবা এক বছরের জন্য পবিত্র তাঁবুর উপরে স্থায়ী হত তখনও লোকরা প্রভুর আদেশ পালন করত| তারা সেই জায়গায় থাকত এবং সেই স্থান থেকে মেঘ না সরে যাওয়া পর্য়ন্ত সেই স্থান তারা ত্যাগ করত না| এরপর মেঘ সেই জায়গা থেকে উঠে চলতে শুরু করলে, লোকরাও চলতে শুরু করত|

23 সুতরাং লোকরা প্রভুর আদেশ পালন করত| প্রভু বললে তারা শিবির স্থাপন করত এবং প্রভু বললে তারা চলতে শুরু করত| লোকরা খুব সতর্কভাবে নজর রাখত এবং প্রভু মোশিকে যা আদেশ করতেন তা তারা পালন করত|

6 And there were ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS certain men ^H376 , who ^H834 ^RPRO were ^H1961 ^VQQ3MP defiled ^H2931 by the dead body ^H5315 ^L-GFS of a man ^H120 ^NMS , that they could ^H3201 not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR keep ^H6213 the passover ^H6453 on that ^H1931 ^D-PPRO-3MS day ^H3117 ^B-AMS : and they came ^H7126 before ^H6440 ^L-CMP Moses ^H4872 and before ^H6440 ^L-CMP Aaron ^H175 on that ^H1931 day ^H3117 ^B-AMS :

11 The fourteenth ^H702 day ^H3117 ^NMS of the second ^H8145 ^D-ONUM month ^H2320 ^BD-NMS at ^H996 ^PREP even ^H6153 they shall keep ^H6213 it , and eat ^H398 it with ^H5921 ^PREP unleavened bread ^H4682 and bitter ^H4844 herbs .

12 They shall leave ^H7604 none ^H3808 ^ADV of ^H4480 ^M-PREP-3MS it unto ^H5704 ^PREP the morning ^H1242 ^NMS , nor ^H3808 ^NADV break ^H7665 any bone ^H6106 of it : according to all ^H3605 the ordinances ^H2708 of the passover ^H6453 they shall keep ^H6213 it .

13 But the man ^H376 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO is clean ^H2889 ^AMS , and is ^H1961 ^VQQ3MS not ^H3808 ^NADV in a journey ^H1870 , and forbeareth ^H2308 to keep ^H6213 ^L-VQFC the passover ^H6453 , even the same ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS soul ^H5315 ^D-NFS shall be cut off ^H3772 from among his people ^H5971 : because ^H3588 ^CONJ he brought ^H7126 ^VHQ3MS not ^H3808 ^NADV the offering ^H7133 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS in his appointed season ^H4150 , that ^H1931 ^D-PPRO-3FS man ^H376 ^D-NMS shall bear ^H5375 ^VQY3MS his sin ^H2399 .

14 And if ^H3588 a stranger ^H1616 ^NMS shall sojourn ^H1481 among ^H854 ^PART-2MP you , and will keep ^H6213 the passover ^H6453 unto the LORD ^H3068 ^L-EDS ; according to the ordinance ^H2708 of the passover ^H6453 , and according to the manner ^H4941 thereof , so ^H3651 ^ADV shall he do ^H6213 ^VQY3MS : ye shall have ^H1961 ^VQY3MS one ^H259 ^OFS ordinance ^H2708 , both for the stranger ^H1616 , and for him that was born ^H249 in the land ^H776 ^D-GFS .

15 And on the day ^H3117 that the tabernacle ^H4908 was reared up ^H6965 the cloud ^H6051 covered ^H3680 ^VPQ3MS the tabernacle ^H4908 , namely , the tent ^H168 of the testimony ^H5715 : and at even ^H6153 there was ^H1961 ^VQY3MS upon ^H5921 ^PREP the tabernacle ^H4908 as it were the appearance ^H4758 of fire ^H784 ^CMS , until ^H5704 ^PREP the morning ^H1242 .

16 So ^H3651 ^ADV it was ^H1961 ^VQY3MS always ^H8548 : the cloud ^H6051 covered ^H3680 it by day , and the appearance ^H4758 of fire ^H784 ^CMS by night ^H3915 ^NMS .

17 And when ^H6310 the cloud ^H6051 was taken up ^H5927 from ^M-PREP the tabernacle ^H168 , then after ^H310 that ^H3651 ^ADV the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 journeyed ^H5265 : and in the place ^H4725 where ^H834 ^RPRO the cloud ^H6051 abode ^H7931 ^VQY3MS , there ^H8033 ^ADV the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 ^LMS pitched their tents ^H2583 .

18 At ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 journeyed ^H5265 , and at ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS they pitched ^H2583 : as long as ^NMS the cloud ^H6051 abode ^H7931 ^VQY3MS upon ^H5921 ^PREP the tabernacle ^H4908 they rested in their tents ^H2583 .

19 And when the cloud ^H6051 tarried long ^H748 upon ^H5921 ^PREP the tabernacle ^H4908 many ^H7227 ^AMP days ^H3117 ^NMP , then the children ^H1121 ^CMP of Israel ^H3478 kept ^H8104 the charge ^H4931 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , and journeyed ^H5265 not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR .

20 And so it was ^H3426 , when ^H834 ^RPRO the cloud ^H6051 was ^H1961 ^VQY3MS a few ^H4557 ^NMS days ^H3117 ^NMP upon ^H5921 ^PREP the tabernacle ^H4908 ; according to ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS they abode in their tents ^H2583 , and according to ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS they journeyed ^H5265 .

21 And so it was ^H3426 , when ^H834 ^RPRO the cloud ^H6051 abode ^H1961 ^VQY3MS from even ^H6153 unto ^H5704 ^PREP the morning ^H1242 ^B-NMS , and that the cloud ^H6051 was taken up ^H5927 in the morning ^H1242 ^B-NMS , then they journeyed ^H5265 : whether ^H176 ^CONJ it was by day ^H3119 ^ADV or by night ^H3915 ^W-NMS that the cloud ^H6051 was taken up ^H5927 , they journeyed ^H5265 .

22 Or ^H176 ^CONJ whether it were two days ^H3117 , or ^H176 ^CONJ a month ^H2320 , or ^H176 ^CONJ a year ^H3117 ^NMP , that the cloud ^H6051 tarried ^H748 upon ^H5921 ^PREP the tabernacle ^H4908 , remaining ^H7931 ^L-VQFC thereon ^H5921 ^PREP , the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 abode in their tents ^H2583 , and journeyed ^H5265 not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR : but when it was taken up ^H5927 , they journeyed ^H5265 .

23 At ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS they rested in the tents ^H2583 , and at ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS they journeyed ^H5265 : they kept ^H8104 the charge ^H4931 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , at ^H5921 ^PREP the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS by the hand ^H3027 ^B-CFS of Moses ^H4872 .
