Acts 6:1 (NIV) New International Version

1 In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.
3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them
4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."
5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
6 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
7 So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
8 Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.
9 Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)--Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen,
10 but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.
11 Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, "We have heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God."
12 So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin.
13 They produced false witnesses, who testified, "This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law.
14 For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us."
15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

3 Wherefore G3767 CONJ , brethren G80 N-VPM , look ye out G1980 V-ADM-2P among G1537 PREP you G5216 P-2GP seven G2033 A-NUI men G435 N-APM of honest report G3140 V-PPP-APM , full G4134 A-APM of the Holy G40 A-GSN Ghost G4151 N-GSN and G2532 CONJ wisdom G4678 N-GSF , whom G3739 R-APM we may appoint G2525 V-AAS-1P over G1909 PREP this G3588 T-GSF business G5532 N-GSF .
4 But G1161 CONJ we G2249 P-1NP will give ourselves G3588 T-DSF continually G4342 V-FAI-1P to prayer G4335 N-DSF , and G2532 CONJ to the G3588 T-DSF ministry G1248 N-DSF of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM word G3056 N-GSM .

6 Whom G3739 R-APM they set G2476 V-2AAI-3P before G1799 ADV the G3588 T-GPM apostles G652 N-GPM : and G2532 CONJ when they had prayed G4336 V-ADP-NPM , they laid their hands on V-AAI-3P them G846 P-DPM .

9 Then G1161 CONJ there arose G450 V-AAI-3P certain G5100 X-NPM of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GSF synagogue G4864 N-GSF , which is called G3004 V-PPP-GSF the synagogue of the Libertines G3032 N-GPM , and G2532 CONJ Cyrenians G2956 N-GPM , and G2532 CONJ Alexandrians G221 N-GPM , and G2532 CONJ of G3588 T-GPM them G3588 T-GPM of G575 PREP Cilicia G2791 N-GSF and G2532 CONJ of Asia G773 N-GSF , disputing with G4802 V-PAP-NPM Stephen G4736 N-DSM .
10 And G2532 CONJ they were not able G2480 V-IAI-3P to resist G436 V-2AAN the G3588 T-DSF wisdom G4678 N-DSF and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-DSN spirit G4151 N-DSN by which G3739 R-DSN he spake G2980 V-IAI-3S .
11 Then G5119 ADV they suborned G5260 V-2AAI-3P men G435 N-APM , which said G3004 V-PAP-APM , We have heard G191 V-2RAI-1P him G846 P-GSM speak G2980 V-PAP-GSM blasphemous G989 A-APN words G4487 N-APN against G1519 PREP Moses G3475 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ against God G2316 N-ASM .
12 And G5037 PRT they stirred up G4787 V-AAI-3P the G3588 T-ASM people G2992 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-APM elders G4245 A-APM , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-APM scribes G1122 N-APM , and G2532 CONJ came upon G2186 V-2AAP-NPM him , and caught G4884 V-AAI-3P him G846 P-ASM , and G2532 CONJ brought G71 V-2AAI-3P him to G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASN council G4892 N-ASN ,
13 And G5037 PRT set up G2476 V-2AAI-3P false G5571 A-APM witnesses G3144 N-APM , which said G3004 V-PAP-APM , This G3588 T-NSM man G444 N-NSM ceaseth G3973 V-PMI-3S not G3756 PRT-N to speak G2980 V-PAP-NSM blasphemous G989 A-APN words G4487 N-APN against G2596 PREP this G3588 T-GSM holy G40 A-GSM place G5117 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-GSM law G3551 N-GSM :
14 For G1063 CONJ we have heard G191 V-2RAI-1P him G846 P-GSM say G3004 V-PAP-GSM , that G3754 CONJ this G3778 D-NSM Jesus G2424 N-NSM of Nazareth G3480 N-NSM shall destroy G2647 V-FAI-3S this G3588 T-ASM place G5117 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ shall change G236 V-FAI-3S the G3588 T-APN customs G1485 N-APN which G3739 R-APN Moses G3475 N-NSM delivered G3860 V-AAI-3S us G2254 P-1DP .
15 And G2532 CONJ all G537 A-NPM that sat G2516 V-PNP-NPM in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSN council G4892 N-DSN , looking steadfastly G816 V-AAP-NPM on G1519 PREP him G846 P-ASM , saw G1492 V-2AAI-3P his G3588 T-ASN face G4383 N-ASN as it had been G5616 ADV the face G4383 N-ASN of an angel G32 N-GSM .
