1 তুমি কি বড়শীতে লিবিয়াথনকে তুলিতে পার? হাতসূতে তাহার জিহ্বা বাঁধিতে পার?
2 নলকাটী দিয়া তার নাক কি ফুঁড়িতে পার? বড়শা দিয়া তাহার হনূ কি বিঁধিতে পার?
3 সে কি তোমার কাছে বহু বিনতি করিবে, বা তোমাকে কোমল কথা বলিবে?
4 সে কি তোমার সহিত নিয়ম করিবে? তুমি কি তাহাকে লইয়া চির দাস করিবে?
5 পক্ষীর সঙ্গে যেমন খেলা করে, তেমনি কি তার সঙ্গে খেলা করিবে? তোমার যুবতীদের জন্য কি তাহাকে বাঁধিয়া রাখিবে?
6 ধীবর-দল কি তাহাকে দিয়া ব্যবসায় করিবে? অংশ অংশ করিয়া কি বণিক্‌দিগকে দিবে?
7 তুমি কি তাহার চর্ম্ম লৌহ-ফলায়, তাহার মস্তক ধীবরের টেঁটায়, বিঁধিতে পার?
8 তোমার হস্ত তাহার উপরে রাখ; যুদ্ধ স্মরণ কর, আর সেরূপ করিও না।
9 দেখ, তাহাকে ধরিবার প্রত্যাশা মিথ্যা; তাহাকে দেখিবামাত্র লোকে কি পড়িয়া যায় না?
10 তাহাকে জাগাইবে, এমন সাহসী কেহ নাই; তবে আমার সাক্ষাতে কে দাঁড়াইতে পারে?
11 কে অগ্রে আমার উপকার করিয়াছে যে, আমি তাহার প্রত্যুপকার করিব? সমস্ত আকাশমণ্ডলের নীচে সকলই আমার।
12 তাহার অঙ্গের সম্বন্ধে আমি নীরব থাকিব না, তাহার বিপুল বলের ও শরীরের সৌষ্ঠবের কথা বলিব।
13 তাহার বর্ম্ম কে খুলিয়া দিতে পারে? তাহার দন্তশ্রেণীদ্বয়ের মধ্যে কে যাইতে পারে?
14 তাহার মুখের কবাট কে খুলিতে পারে? তাহার দন্তাবলির চারি দিকে ত্রাস থাকে।
15 তাহার ফলকশ্রেণী শোভা পায়, তাহা মুদ্রাঙ্কিতের ন্যায় দৃঢ়রূপে বদ্ধ।
16 সেই সকল পরস্পর এমন সংলগ্ন যে, তাহার অন্তরালে বায়ু প্রবেশ করিতে পারে না।
17 সেই সকল পরস্পর সংযুক্ত, সেগুলি একত্র সংলগ্ন, কিছুতেই ভিন্ন হয় না।
18 তাহার হাঁচিতে দীপ্তি বিকাশ করে, তাহার নয়ন অরুণের নেত্রচ্ছদের সদৃশ।
19 তাহার মুখ হইতে জ্বলন্ত মশাল নির্গত হয়, অগ্নিস্ফুলিঙ্গ উৎপন্ন হয়।
20 তাহার নাসারন্ধ্র হইতে ধূম নির্গত হয়, যেমন তপ্ত হণ্ডিকা ও খাগড়ার ধূম।
21 তাহার নিঃশ্বাসে অঙ্গার জ্বলিয়া উঠে, তাহার মুখ হইতে অগ্নিশিখা বাহির হয়।
22 তাহার গ্রীবায় বল অবস্থিতি করে, তাহার সম্মুখে ত্রাস নৃত্য করে।
23 তাহার মাংসের পর্ত্তা পরস্পর সংযুক্ত; তাহা তাহার উপরে দৃঢ়ীভূত, সরিতে পারে না।
24 তাহার হৃৎপিণ্ড প্রস্তরের ন্যায় দৃঢ়, যাঁতার নীচের পাটের ন্যায় দৃঢ়।
25 সে উঠিলে বলবানেরাও উদ্বিগ্ন হয়, ত্রাসপ্রযুক্ত হতবুদ্ধি হইয়া পড়ে।
26 খড়্‌গে তাহাকে আক্রমণ করিলে কিছু হইবে না, বড়শা, বাণ ও সাঁজোয়া বিফল হয়।
27 সে লৌহকে নাড়ার ন্যায়, পিত্তলকে পচা কাষ্ঠের ন্যায় জ্ঞান করে।
28 ধনুর্ব্বাণ তাহাকে তাড়াইতে পারে না, তাহার কাছে ফিঙ্গার প্রস্তর তৃণ হইয়া পড়ে।
29 সে গদাকে তৃণতুল্য জ্ঞান করে, বড়শার ধ্বনিতে হাস্য করে।
30 তাহার তলদেশ শাণিত খোলার ন্যায়, সে কর্দ্দমের উপর দিয়া কাঁটার মই চালায়।
31 সে অগাধ জলকে স্থালীর জলের ন্যায় ফুটায়। সে সমুদ্রকে মলমের ন্যায় করে।
32 তাহার পশ্চাতে পথ চক্‌মক্‌ করে, জলধি পক্ককেশের তুল্য বোধ হয়।
33 পৃথিবীতে তাহার তুল্য কিছুই নাই; তাহাকে নির্ভীক করিয়া নির্ম্মাণ করা হইয়াছে।
34 সে যাবতীয় উচ্চবস্তু সন্দর্শন করে, যাবতীয় গর্ব্ব-সন্তানের উপরে রাজা হয়।
