2. அவன் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு முன்பாக யெகோவா துரத்திய நாடுகளின் வெறுக்கத்தக்க நடைமுறைகளைப் பின்பற்றி யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் தீமையானதைச் செய்தான்.

3. தன் தகப்பன் எசேக்கியா அழித்திருந்த உயர்ந்த மேடைகளைத் திரும்பவும் கட்டினான். அத்துடன் அவன் பாகால்களுக்கு மேடைகளைக் கட்டியெழுப்பி, அசேரா விக்கிரக தூண்களையும் செய்தான். அவன் எல்லா நட்சத்திரக் கூட்டத்தையும் விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.

4. “என் பெயர் எருசலேமில் என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்” என்று யெகோவா சொல்லியிருந்த யெகோவாவினுடைய ஆலயத்தில் அவன் பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டினான்.

4. Also he built H1129 altars H4196 in the house H1004 of the LORD H3068 , whereof H834 the LORD H3068 had said H559 , In Jerusalem H3389 shall my name H8034 be H1961 forever H5769 .

5. அத்துடன் அவன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தின் இரண்டு முற்றங்களிலும் எல்லா நட்சத்திரக் கூட்டங்களுக்கும் மேடைகளைக் கட்டினான்.

7. இறைவன் தாவீதிடமும், அவன் மகன் சாலொமோனிடமும், “இஸ்ரயேலின் எல்லாக் கோத்திரங்களிலுமிருந்து, நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட எருசலேமிலும் இந்த ஆலயத்திலும் என்றென்றைக்குமாக எனது பெயரை வைப்பேன்” எனச் சொல்லியிருந்தார். அந்த ஆலயத்திலேயே அவன் தான் செய்த செதுக்கப்பட்ட உருவச் சிலைகளைக் கொண்டுபோய் வைத்தான்.

8. அத்துடன், “அவர்கள் மோசே மூலம் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சட்டங்கள், விதிமுறைகள், ஒழுங்குவிதிகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் குறித்து நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்ய அவர்கள் கவனமாயிருப்பார்களானால், நான் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த நாட்டிலிருந்து இஸ்ரயேலரின் காலடிகளைப் புறப்படப்பண்ண மாட்டேன்” என்றும் சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

9. ஆனால் மனாசேயோ யூதாவையும், எருசலேமின் மக்களையும் வழிவிலகச் செய்தான். அதனால் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு முன்பாக யெகோவா அழித்த நாட்டினரைக் காட்டிலும் அதிகமான தீமையை இஸ்ரயேலர் செய்தார்கள். PEPS

9. So Manasseh H4519 made H853 Judah H3063 and the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389 to err H8582 , and to do H6213 worse H7451 than H4480 the heathen H1471 , whom H834 the LORD H3068 had destroyed H8045 before H4480 H6440 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 .

10. யெகோவா மனாசேயுடனும், அவன் மக்களுடனும் பேசினார். அவர்கள் அதற்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை.

12. அவன் தனது கடும் துன்பத்தில் தனது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் தயவைத் தேடினான். தன் முற்பிதாக்களின் இறைவனுக்கு முன்பாக அவன் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்தினான்.

13. அவன் அவரிடத்தில் ஜெபித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது, யெகோவா அவனுடைய வேண்டுதலினால் மனமிரங்கி, அவனுடைய ஜெபத்தைக் கேட்டார். அவர் அவனைத் திரும்பவும் எருசலேமுக்கும் அவனுடைய அரசுக்கும் கொண்டுவந்தார். அதன்பின்பு மனாசே யெகோவாவே இறைவன் என அறிந்தான். PEPS

14. இவற்றிற்குப்பின் அவன் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் வெளி மதிலைத் திரும்பக் கட்டினான். கீகோனுக்கு மேற்கேயுள்ள பள்ளத்தாக்கின் நீரூற்று தொடங்கி, மீன் வாசலின் நுழைவாசல்வரை ஓபேலின் குன்றைச் சுற்றியே அந்த மதிலைக் கட்டினான். அவன் அதை முன்னிருந்ததைவிட உயரமாகக் கட்டினான். அவன் யூதாவின் எல்லா அரணான பட்டணங்களிலும் இராணுவ தளபதிகளை நிறுத்தினான். 15. அவன் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களையெல்லாம் ஒழித்து, யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தில் இருந்த உருவச்சிலையை அகற்றிப்போட்டான். அதேபோல் ஆலய மலையிலும், எருசலேமிலும் தான் கட்டியிருந்த பலிபீடங்களையும் அகற்றிப்போட்டான். அவன் அவற்றை பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே எறிந்துவிட்டான்.

15. And he took away H5493 H853 the strange H5236 gods H430 , and the idol H5566 out of the house H4480 H1004 of the LORD H3068 , and all H3605 the altars H4196 that H834 he had built H1129 in the mount H2022 of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068 , and in Jerusalem H3389 , and cast H7993 them out of H2351 the city H5892 .

16. அதன்பின் யெகோவாவின் பலிபீடத்தைத் திரும்பவும் கட்டி, அதில் சமாதானக் காணிக்கைகளையும், நன்றி செலுத்தும் காணிக்கைகளையும் பலியிட்டான். அத்துடன் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பணிசெய்ய வேண்டும் என யூதா மக்களிடம் சொன்னான்.

16. And he repaired H1129 H853 the altar H4196 of the LORD H3068 , and sacrificed H2076 thereon H5921 peace H8002 offerings H2077 and thank offerings H8426 , and commanded H559 Judah H3063 to serve H5647 H853 the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 .

17. இருந்தும் மக்கள் தொடர்ந்து பலிபீடங்களின் மேலேயே பலியிட்டு வந்தனர். ஆனாலும் இறைவனாகிய தங்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு என்றே பலியிட்டார்கள். PEPS

17. Nevertheless H61 the people H5971 did sacrifice H2076 still H5750 in the high places H1116 , yet unto the LORD H3068 their God H430 only H7535 .

18. மனாசேயின் ஆட்சியின் மற்ற நிகழ்வுகளும், அவன் தனது இறைவனிடம் செய்த மன்றாடலும், இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் பெயரில் தரிசனக்காரர் அவனுடன் பேசிய வார்த்தைகளும் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

19. அவனுடைய மன்றாடலும், அவனுடைய வேண்டுதலினால் இறைவன் எவ்விதம் அவனுக்கு இரங்கினார் என்பதும், அவனுடைய பாவங்களும், நம்பிக்கைத் துரோகமும், அவன் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துவதற்கு முன்பு உயர்ந்த மேடைகளைக் கட்டி, அசேரா விக்கிரக தூண்களையும், விக்கிரகங்களையும் அமைத்த இடங்களுமான இவையெல்லாம் தரிசனக்காரரின் பதிவேடுகளில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

20. மனாசே தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்து அரண்மனையில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான். அவன் மகன் ஆமோன் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அரசனானான். PS

20. So Manasseh H4519 slept H7901 with H5973 his fathers H1 , and they buried H6912 him in his own house H1004 : and Amon H526 his son H1121 reigned H4427 in his stead H8478 .

21. {யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆமோன்} PS ஆமோன் அரசனானபோது அவன் இருபத்திரண்டு வயதுடையவனாயிருந்தான். அவன் எருசலேமில் இரண்டு வருடங்கள் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.

22. அவனும் தன் தகப்பன் மனாசே செய்ததுபோல் யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் தீமையானதையே செய்தான். மனாசே செய்திருந்த எல்லா விக்கிரகங்களையும் ஆமோன் வணங்கி, அவற்றில் பலிகளையும் செலுத்தினான்.

22. But he did H6213 that which was evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the LORD H3068 , as H834 did H6213 Manasseh H4519 his father H1 : for Amon H526 sacrificed H2076 unto all H3605 the carved images H6456 which H834 Manasseh H4519 his father H1 had made H6213 , and served H5647 them;

23. ஆனால் தன் தகப்பன் மனாசேயைப்போல் யெகோவாவுக்குமுன் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்தவில்லை. ஆமோன் தன் குற்றத்தை அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டான். PEPS

23. And humbled not himself H3808 H3665 before H4480 H6440 the LORD H3068 , as Manasseh H4519 his father H1 had humbled himself H3665 ; but H3588 Amon H526 trespassed H819 more and more H7235 .

24. ஆமோனின் அதிகாரிகள் அவனுக்கு எதிராகச் சதிசெய்து, அவனுடைய அரண்மனையில் அவனைக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள்.

24. And his servants H5650 conspired H7194 against H5921 him , and slew H4191 him in his own house H1004 .
