Exodus 6:1 (NASB) New American Standard Bible

1 Then the LORD answered Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. Forced by my mighty hand, he will send them away; compelled by my outstretched arm, he will drive them from his land."
2 God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.
3 As God the Almighty I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but my name, LORD, I did not make known to them.
4 I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they were living as aliens.
5 And now that I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are treating as slaves, I am mindful of my covenant.
6 Therefore, say to the Israelites: I am the LORD. I will free you from the forced labor of the Egyptians and will deliver you from their slavery. I will rescue you by my outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 I will take you as my own people, and you shall have me as your God. You will know that I, the LORD, am your God when I free you from the labor of the Egyptians
8 and bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I will give it to you as your own possession-- I, the LORD!"
9 But when Moses told this to the Israelites, they would not listen to him because of their dejection and hard slavery.
10 Then the LORD said to Moses,
11 "Go and tell Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to let the Israelites leave his land."
12 But Moses protested to the LORD, "If the Israelites would not listen to me, how can it be that Pharaoh will listen to me, poor speaker that I am!"
13 Still, the LORD, to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them his orders regarding both the Israelites and Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
14 These are the heads of the ancestral houses. The sons of Reuben, the first-born of Israel, were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the clans of Reuben.
15 The sons of Simeon were Jenuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar and Shaul, who was the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the clans of Simeon.
16 The names of the sons of Levi, in their genealogical order, are Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived one hundred and thirty-seven years.
17 The sons of Gershon, as heads of clans, were Libni and Shimei.
18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived one hundred and thirty-three years.
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of Levi in their genealogical order.
20 Amram married his aunt Jochebed, who bore him Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Amram lived one hundred and thirty-seven years.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
23 Aaron married Amminadab's daughter, Elisheba, the sister of Nahshon; she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the clans of the Korahites.
25 Aaron's son, Eleazar, married one of Putiel's daughters, who bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the ancestral clans of the Levites.
26 This is the Aaron and this the Moses to whom the LORD said, "Lead the Israelites from the land of Egypt, company by company."
27 These are the ones who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of Egypt-- the same Moses and Aaron.
28 On the day the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt
29 he said, "I am the LORD. Repeat to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I tell you."
30 But Moses protested to the LORD, "Since I am a poor speaker, how can it be that Pharaoh will listen to me?"

2 And God H430 EDP spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS :
3 And I appeared H7200 unto H413 PREP Abraham H85 , unto H413 PREP Isaac H3327 , and unto H413 PREP Jacob H3290 , by the name of God H410 Almighty H7706 , but by my name H8034 JEHOVAH H3068 EDS was I not H3808 NADV known H3045 to them .
4 And I have also H1571 W-CONJ established H6965 VHQ1MS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS with H854 PREP-3MP them , to give H5414 L-VQFC them the land H776 GFS of Canaan H3667 EMS , the land H776 GFS of their pilgrimage H4033 , wherein H834 RPRO they were strangers H1481 .
5 And I H589 PPRO-1MS have also H1571 W-CONJ heard H8085 VQQ1MS the groaning H5009 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , whom H834 RPRO the Egyptians H4714 EFS keep in bondage H5647 ; and I have remembered H2142 my covenant H1285 .
6 Wherefore H3651 L-ADV say H559 unto the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS , and I will bring you out H3318 from under H8478 M-CFS the burdens H5450 of the Egyptians H4714 EFS , and I will rid H5337 you out of their bondage H5656 , and I will redeem H1350 you with a stretched out H5186 arm H2220 , and with great H1419 judgments H8201 :
7 And I will take H3947 you to me for a people H5971 , and I will be H1961 to you a God H430 L-NMP : and ye shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS your God H430 , which bringeth you out H3318 from under H8478 M-CFS the burdens H5450 of the Egyptians H4714 .
8 And I will bring you in unto H413 PREP the land H776 D-GFS , concerning the which H834 RPRO I did swear H5375 VQQ1MS to give H5414 L-VQFC it to Abraham H85 , to Isaac H3327 , and to Jacob H3290 ; and I will give H5414 it you for a heritage H4181 : I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
9 And Moses H4872 spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS so H3651 ADV unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 : but they hearkened H8085 VQQ3MP not H3808 W-NPAR unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 for anguish H7115 of spirit H7307 NFS , and for cruel bondage H5656 .
10 And the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , saying H559 ,
11 Go in H935 , speak H1696 unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS king H4428 NMS of Egypt H4714 , that he let the children H1121 of Israel H3478 go H7971 out of his land H776 .
12 And Moses H4872 spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , saying H559 L-VQFC , Behold H2005 IJEC , the children H1121 of Israel H3478 have not H3808 ADV hearkened H8085 VQQ3MP unto H413 PREP-1MS me ; how H349 W-IJEC then shall Pharaoh H6547 EMS hear H8085 VQQ3MP me , who H589 W-PPRO-1MS am of uncircumcised H6189 lips H8193 ?
13 And the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 and unto H413 PREP Aaron H175 , and gave them a charge H6680 unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS king H4428 NMS of Egypt H4714 , to bring H3318 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 out of the land H776 M-NFS of Egypt H4714 .
14 These H428 PMP be the heads H7218 CMP of their fathers H1 \' houses H1004 CMS : The sons H1121 of Reuben H7205 the firstborn H1060 of Israel H3478 ; Hanoch H2585 NAME-3MS , and Pallu H6396 , Hezron H2696 , and Carmi H3756 : these H428 PMP be the families H4940 CFP of Reuben H7205 .
15 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Simeon H8095 ; Jemuel H3223 , and Jamin H3226 , and Ohad H161 , and Jachin H3199 , and Zohar H6714 , and Shaul H7586 the son H1121 W-CMP of a Canaanitish woman H3669 : these H428 PMP are the families H4940 CFP of Simeon H8095 .
16 And these H428 W-PMP are the names H8034 of the sons H1121 of Levi H3878 according to their generations H8435 ; Gershon H1648 , and Kohath H6955 , and Merari H4847 : and the years H8141 of the life H2416 of Levi H3878 were a hundred H3967 W-BFS thirty H7970 W-MMP and seven H7651 MFS years H8141 NFS .
17 The sons H1121 of Gershon H1648 ; Libni H3845 , and Shimi H8096 , according to their families H4940 .
18 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Kohath H6955 ; Amram H6019 , and Izhar H3324 , and Hebron H2275 , and Uzziel H5816 : and the years H8141 of the life H2416 of Kohath H6955 were a hundred H3967 W-BFS thirty H7970 W-MMP and three H7969 MFS years H8141 NFS .
19 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Merari H4847 ; Mahali H4249 and Mushi H4187 : these H428 PMP are the families H4940 CFP of Levi H3878 according to their generations H8435 .
20 And Amram H6019 took H3947 W-VQY3MS him Jochebed H3115 his father\'s sister H1733 to wife H802 L-NFS ; and she bore H3205 W-VQY3FS him Aaron H175 and Moses H4872 : and the years H8141 of the life H2416 of Amram H6019 were a hundred H3967 W-BFS and thirty H7970 W-MMP and seven H7651 MFS years H8141 NFS .
21 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Izhar H3324 ; Korah H7141 , and Nepheg H5298 , and Zichri H2147 .
22 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Uzziel H5816 ; Mishael H4332 , and Elzaphan H469 , and Zithri H5644 .
23 And Aaron H175 took H3947 W-VQY3MS him Elisheba H472 , daughter H1323 CFS of Amminadab H5992 , sister H269 of Naashon H5177 , to wife H802 L-NFS ; and she bore H3205 W-VQY3FS him Nadab H5070 , and Abihu H30 , Eleazar H499 , and Ithamar H385 .
24 And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Korah H7141 ; Assir H617 , and Elkanah H511 , and Abiasaph H23 : these H428 PMP are the families H4940 CFP of the Korhites H7145 .
25 And Eleazar H499 Aaron H175 \'s son H1121 took H3947 him one of the daughters H1323 of Putiel H6317 to wife H802 L-NFS ; and she bore H3205 W-VQY3FS him Phinehas H6372 : these H428 PMP are the heads H7218 CMP of the fathers H1 of the Levites H3881 according to their families H4940 .
26 These H1931 PPRO-3MS are that Aaron H175 and Moses H4872 , to whom H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 VQQ3MS , Bring out H3318 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 from the land H776 M-NFS of Egypt H4714 EFS according to H5921 PREP their armies H6635 .
27 These H1992 PPRO-3MP are they which spoke H1696 to H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS king H4428 NMS of Egypt H4714 EFS , to bring out H3318 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 from Egypt H4714 : these are that H1931 PPRO-3MS Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 .
28 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS on the day H3117 B-NMS when the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 VPQ3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 in the land H776 B-GFS of Egypt H4714 ,
29 That the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , saying H559 , I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS : speak H1696 VPFC thou unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS king H4428 NMS of Egypt H4714 EFS all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO I H589 PPRO-1MS say H1696 VQPMS unto H413 PREP thee .
30 And Moses H4872 said H559 W-VQY3MS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , Behold H2005 IJEC , I H589 PPRO-1MS am of uncircumcised H6189 lips H8193 NFD , and how H349 W-IJEC shall Pharaoh H6547 EMS hearken H8085 VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-1MS me ?
