Ezekiel 11:1 (NASB) New American Standard Bible

1 Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the temple. At the entrance of the gate I saw twenty-five men, among whom were Jaazaniah, son of Azzur, and Pelatiah, son of Benaiah, princes of the people.
2 The LORD said to me: Son of man, these are the men who are planning evil and giving wicked counsel in this city.
3 "Shall we not," they say, "be building houses soon? The city is the kettle, and we are the meat."
4 Therefore prophesy against them, son of man, prophesy!
5 Then the spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he told me to say: Thus says the LORD: This is the way you talk, house of Israel, and what you are plotting I well know.
6 You have slain many in this city and have filled its streets with your slain.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have placed within it, they are the meat, and the city is the kettle; but you I will take out of it.
8 You fear the sword, but the sword I will bring upon you, says the Lord GOD.
9 I will bring you out of the city, and hand you over to foreigners, and inflict punishments upon you.
10 By the sword you shall fall; at the boundaries of Israel I will judge you; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.
11 The city shall not be a kettle for you, nor shall you be the meat within it. At the boundaries of Israel I will judge you,
12 and you shall know that I am the LORD, by whose statutes you have not lived, and whose ordinances you have not kept; rather, you have acted according to the ordinances of the nations around you.
13 While I was prophesying, Pelatiah, the son of Benaiah, died. I fell prone and cried out in a loud voice: "Alas, Lord GOD! will you utterly wipe out what remains of Israel?"
14 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
15 Son of man, it is about your kinsmen, your fellow exiles, and the whole house of Israel that the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, "They are far away from the LORD; to us the land of Israel has been given as our possession."
16 Therefore say: Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I have removed them far among the nations and scattered them over foreign countries-- and was for a while their only sanctuary in the countries to which they had gone--
17 I will gather you from the nations and assemble you from the countries over which you have been scattered, and I will restore to you the land of Israel.
18 They shall return to it and remove from it all its detestable abominations.
19 I will give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove the stony heart from their bodies, and replace it with a natural heart,
20 so that they will live according to my statutes, and observe and carry out my ordinances; thus they shall be my people and I will be their God.
21 But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their detestable abominations, I will bring down their conduct upon their heads, says the Lord GOD.
22 Then the cherubim lifted their wings, and the wheels went along with them, while up above them was the glory of the God of Israel.
23 And the glory of the LORD rose from the city and took a stand on the mountain which is to the east of the city.
24 Spirit lifted me up and brought me back to the exiles in Chaldea (in a vision, by God's spirit). Then the vision I had seen left me,
25 and I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.
1 Moreover the spirit H7307 NFS lifted me up H5375 , and brought H935 me unto H413 PREP the east H6931 gate H8179 NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS \'s house H1004 CMS , which looketh H6437 eastward H6921 : and behold H2009 IJEC at the door H6607 of the gate H8179 five H2568 and twenty H6242 men H376 NMS ; among H8432 whom I saw H7200 Jaazaniah H2970 the son H1121 CMS of Azur H5809 , and Pelatiah H6410 the son H1121 CMS of Benaiah H1141 , princes H8269 CMP of the people H5971 D-NMS .
2 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS he unto H413 me , Son H1121 of man H120 NMS , these H428 PMP are the men H376 D-NMP that devise H2803 mischief H205 NMS , and give H3289 wicked H7451 AMS counsel H6098 CFS in this H2063 city H5892 BD-NFS :
3 Which say H559 D-VQPMP , It is not H3808 NADV near H7138 ; let us build H1129 houses H1004 NMP : this H1931 PPRO-3FS city is the caldron H5518 , and we H587 be the flesh H1320 .
4 Therefore H3651 L-ADV prophesy H5012 against H5921 PREP-3MP them , prophesy H5012 , O son H1121 of man H120 .
5 And the Spirit H7307 NFS of the LORD H3068 EDS fell H5307 W-VQY3FS upon H5921 PREP-1MS me , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-1MS me , Speak H559 W-VQY3MS ; Thus H3541 saith H559 W-VQY3MS the LORD H3068 EDS ; Thus H3651 ADV have ye said H559 W-VQY3MS , O house H1004 CMS of Israel H3478 : for I H589 PPRO-1MS know H3045 the things that come H4609 into your mind H7307 NFS , every one of them .
6 Ye have multiplied H7235 your slain H2491 in this H2063 D-DFS city H5892 BD-NFS , and ye have filled H4390 the streets H2351 thereof with the slain H2491 .
7 Therefore H3651 L-ADV thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Your slain H2491 whom H834 RPRO ye have laid H7760 in the midst H8432 of it , they H1992 PPRO-3MP are the flesh H1320 D-NMS , and this H1931 city is the caldron H5518 : but I will bring you forth VHQ3MS out of the midst H8432 of it .
8 Ye have feared H3372 the sword H2719 GFS ; and I will bring H935 a sword H2719 upon H5921 PREP-2MP you , saith H5002 the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 .
9 And I will bring H3318 you out of the midst H8432 thereof , and deliver H5414 you into the hands H3027 B-CFS of strangers H2114 , and will execute H6213 judgments H8201 among you .
10 Ye shall fall H5307 by the sword H2719 ; I will judge H8199 you in H5921 PREP the border H1366 CMS of Israel H3478 ; and ye shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
11 This H1931 PPRO-3FS city shall not H3808 ADV be H1961 your caldron H5518 , neither shall ye H859 W-PPRO-2MP be H1961 the flesh H1320 L-NMS in the midst H8432 thereof ; but I will judge H8199 you in H413 PREP the border H1366 CMS of Israel H3478 :
12 And ye shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS : for H834 RPRO ye have not H3808 NADV walked H1980 in my statutes H2706 , neither H3808 NADV executed H6213 my judgments H4941 , but have done H6213 after the manners H4941 of the heathen H1471 D-NMP that H834 RPRO are round about H5439 you .
13 And it came to pass H1961 W-VPY3MS , when I prophesied H5012 , that Pelatiah H6410 the son H1121 CMS of Benaiah H1141 died H4191 . Then fell I down H5307 upon H5921 PREP my face H6440 NMP-1MS , and cried H2199 with a loud H1419 AMS voice H6963 CMS , and said H559 W-VQY1MS , Ah H162 Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ! wilt thou H859 PPRO-2MS make H6213 VQPMS a full end H3617 of the remnant H7611 of Israel H3478 LMS ?
14 Again the word H1697 NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS came H1961 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-1MS me , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
15 Son H1121 of man H120 NMS , thy brethren H251 CMP-2MS , even thy brethren H251 CMP-2MS , the men H376 of thy kindred H1353 , and all H3605 W-CMS the house H1004 CMS of Israel H3478 wholly H3605 , are they unto whom H834 RPRO the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389 have said H559 VQQ3MP , Get you far H7368 from M-PREP the LORD H3068 EDS : unto us is this H1931 PPRO-3FS land H776 D-GFS given H5414 VNQ3FS in possession H4181 .
16 Therefore H3651 L-ADV say H559 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Although H3588 CONJ I have cast them far off H7368 among the heathen H1471 , and although H3588 CONJ I have scattered H6327 them among the countries H776 , yet will I be H1961 W-VQY1MS to them as a little H4592 AMS sanctuary H4720 in the countries H776 where H834 RPRO they shall come H935 VQQ3MP .
17 Therefore H3651 L-ADV say H559 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; I will even gather H6908 you from H4480 PREP the people H5971 , and assemble H622 you out of H4480 PREP the countries H776 where H834 RPRO ye have been scattered H6327 , and I will give H5414 you the land H127 of Israel H3478 LMS .
18 And they shall come H935 thither H8033 ADV-3FS , and they shall take away H5493 all H3605 NMS the detestable things H8251 thereof and all H3605 NMS the abominations H8441 thereof from H4480 PREP-3FS thence .
19 And I will give H5414 them one H259 MMS heart H3820 NMS , and I will put H5414 VQY1MS a new H2319 spirit H7307 W-GFS within H7130 you ; and I will take H5493 the stony H68 heart H3820 NMS out of their flesh H1320 , and will give H5414 them a heart H3820 NMS of flesh H1320 NMS :
20 That H4616 L-CONJ they may walk H1980 in my statutes H2708 , and keep H8104 mine ordinances H4941 , and do H6213 W-VQQ3MP them H853 W-PART : and they shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS my people H5971 , and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS will be H1961 VQY1MS their God H430 L-NMP .
21 But as for them whose heart H3820 NMS walketh H1980 after H413 W-PREP the heart H3820 NMS of their detestable things H8251 and their abominations H8441 , I will recompense H5414 VQQ1MS their way H1870 CMS-3MP upon their own heads H7218 , saith H5002 the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 .
22 Then did the cherubims H3742 lift up H5375 W-VQY3MP their wings H3671 , and the wheels H212 beside H5980 them ; and the glory H3519 of the God H430 of Israel H3478 was over H5921 PREP-3MP them above H4605 .
23 And the glory H3519 of the LORD H3068 EDS went up H5927 W-VHY3MS from M-PREP the midst H8432 of the city H5892 D-GFS , and stood H5975 upon H5921 M-PREP the mountain H2022 which H834 RPRO is on the east side H6924 M-NMS of the city H5892 .
24 Afterwards the spirit H7307 W-GFS took me up H5375 , and brought H935 me in a vision H4758 by the Spirit H7307 W-GFS of God H430 EDP into Chaldea H3778 , to H413 PREP them of the captivity H1473 . So the vision H4758 that H834 RPRO I had seen H7200 went up H5927 W-VHY3MS from me .
25 Then I spoke H1696 unto H413 PREP them of the captivity H1473 all H3605 NMS the things H1697 CMP that H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS had showed H7200 me .
