2 அப்பொழுது அவன் நகரில் இருந்த இஸ்ராயேலின் அரசன் ஆக்காபிடம் தூதரை அனுப்பி,

3 உன் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் என்னுடையவை. உன் மனைவியரும், உன் புதல்வரில் கெட்டிக்காரரும் என்னுடையவர்கள்' என்று பெனாதாத் சொல்லுகிறான்" என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.

35 அப்பொழுது இறைவாக்கினரின் புதல்வர்களில் ஒருவர் ஆண்டவருடைய பெயரால் தம் தோழன் ஒருவனை நோக்கி, "நீ என்னை அடி" என்றார்.

36 அவனோ அதற்கு இணங்கவில்லை. அப்போது அவர் இவனைப் பார்த்து, "நீ ஆண்டவருடைய கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல் போனதால், நீ என்னைவிட்டு அகன்ற உடனே, ஒரு சிங்கம் உன்னைக் கொல்லும்" என்றார். அப்படியே அவன் இவரை விட்டுச் சிறிது தூரம் சென்றதும் ஒரு சிங்கம் அவனைக் கண்டு கொன்று போட்டது.

41 உடனே அவர் தம் முகத்திலிருந்த சாம்பலைத் துடைக்க, இஸ்ராயேலின் அரசன் அவர் இறைவாக்கினரில் ஒருவர் என்று அறிந்து கொண்டான்.
