16 ஏழாம் முறை குருக்கள் எக்காளங்களை ஊதுகையில் யோசுவா மக்களை நோக்கி, "ஆர்ப்பரித்துக் கூக்குரலிடுஙகள். ஏனெனில் ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்கு நகரை ஒப்படைத்துள்ளார்.

17 ஆனால் இந்நகரும் இதிலுள்ள யாவும் ஆண்டவரின் சாபத்துக்கு உள்ளாகக்கடவன. நாம் முன்பு அனுப்பின தூதர்களை இராக்காப் என்ற விலைமாது மறைத்து வைத்தபடியால், அவளையும் அவள் வீட்டார் அனைவரையும் மட்டுமே உயிரோடு விட்டு வையுங்கள்.
