4 நமது கண் உனக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டாது; நாம் உனக்குத் தயைகூர மாட்டோம். ஆனால் உன் நடத்தைக்கேற்ற தண்டனையை உன் மீது வரச்செய்வோம்; உன்னுடைய அக்கிரமங்கள் உன் நடுவிலேயே இருக்கும்; அப்போது நாமே உன் ஆண்டவர் என்பதை அறிவாய்.

5 ஆண்டவராகிய இறைவன் கூறுகிறார்: தீங்கு வருகிறது! இதோ, தீங்கு வருகிறது!

6 முடிவு வருகிறது, வருகிறது முடிவு! உனக்கு எதிராக எழுந்து வருகிறது, இதோ வந்து விட்டது!

9 நமது கண் உனக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டாது; நாம் உன்மேல் தயைகூர மாட்டோம்; உன் நடத்தையின் பலனை உன் மீது சுமத்துவோம்; உன் அக்கிரமங்கள் உன்னைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கும். அப்போது ஆண்டவராகிய நாமே உன்னைத் தண்டிக்கிறவர் என்பதை அறிவாய்.

10 இதோ, அந்த நாள்! இதோ, வந்துவிட்டது! உன் வேதனை தொடங்கிவிட்டது; உன்னை அடிக்கும் தடி பூத்து விட்டது. உன் அகந்தையும் வளர்ந்திருக்கிறது.

11 அக்கிரமம் கொடுங்கோலாக மலர்ந்துள்ளது; அவர்களிலும், அவர்களின் இனத்திலும், அவர்களுடைய மகிமையிலும் ஒன்றும் விடப்படாது; யாவும் அழிந்துபோம்;

16 தப்பி ஒடுகிறவர்கள் பிழைப்பார்கள்; ஆயினும் அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தத்தம் அக்கிரமத்துக்காக மனம் வருந்தி, கணவாய்களிலுள்ள மாடப்புறாக்களைப் போல் மலைகளின் மேல் நிற்பார்கள்.

17 அப்போது கைகள் எல்லாம் பலனற்றுப்போகும்; முழங்கால்கள் எல்லாம் தண்ணீரைப் போலத் தத்தளிக்கும்.

18 அஞ்சி நடுங்கி அனைவரும் மயிராடைகளை உடுத்திக் கொள்வார்கள்; எல்லாரும் வெட்கி நாணுவர்; தங்கள் தலையை மொட்டையடித்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

19 அவர்களுடைய வெள்ளி வெளியே எறியப்படும்; தங்கம் அவர்களுக்கு வெறுப்புள்ளதாகும்; ஆண்டவருடைய கோபத்தின் நாளில் அவர்களை விடுவிக்க அவர்களிடமிருக்கும் வெள்ளியாலும் தங்கத்தாலும் இயலாது; அவர்கள் தங்கள் உள்ளத்தைத் திருப்தியாக்குவதுமில்லை; தங்கள் வயிற்றை நிரப்புவதுமில்லை. ஏனெனில் அவர்களின் அக்கிரமத்தினால் அவர்களது செல்வமே அவர்களுக்கு இடறலாய் அமைந்தது.

20 தங்கள் அணிகலன்களைப் பார்த்து அவர்கள் அகந்தை கொண்டார்கள்; அவற்றைக் கொண்டு தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்தின் படிமங்களையும் சிலைகளின் உருவங்களையும் செய்தார்கள்; ஆகையால் பொன்னையும் வெள்ளியையும் அவர்களுக்கு வெறுப்புள்ளதாக்குவோம்.

21 அதை அந்நியர் கொள்ளையடிக்கச் செய்வோம்; அக்கிரமிகளான உலகத்தார் சூறையாடக் கொடுப்போம்; அவர்கள் அதைத் தாழ்வான காரியங்களுக்குப் பயன்படுத்துவார்கள்.

22 அவர்களிடமிருந்து நம் முகத்தைத் திருப்பிக்கொள்வோம்; அவர்கள் நம்முடைய கோயிலின் அந்தரங்கமான இடத்தை அசுத்தப் படுத்துவார்கள்; கள்ளர்களும் அதனுள் நுழைந்து அதனைப் பங்கப் படுத்துவார்கள்.

23 நீ ஒரு சங்கிலியைச் செய்துகொள்: நாடு முழுவதும் இரத்தப்பழியால் நிறைந்துள்ளது; நகரெங்கும் அக்கிரமம் நிரம்பியுள்ளது.

24 ஆகையால் புறவினத்தாரில் பொல்லாதவர்களைக் கூட்டி வருவோம்; அவர்கள் இவர்களுடைய வீடுகளைக் கைப்பற்றுவார்கள்; வலிமையுள்ளவர்களின் அகங்காரம் அடங்கும்; இவர்களின் பரிசுத்த இடங்களை அவர்கள் உரிமையாக்கிக் கொள்வார்.
