1 சாலமோன் ஆண்டவரின் ஆலயத்தையும் அரண்மனையும், தான் செய்ய விரும்பின எல்லாவற்றையும் கட்டிமுடித்த பின்பு நிகழ்ந்ததாவது:

2 ஆண்டவர் சாலமோனுக்குக் காபாவோனில் தோன்றினது போல், இன்னொரு முறையும் அவருக்குத் தோன்றி, சொன்னதாவது:

3 நமது முன்னிலையில் நீ செய்த விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டோம். நீ கட்டின இவ்வாலயத்தில் நமது பெயர் என்றென்றும் விளங்கத் தக்கதாக அதைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கினோம். நமது இதயமும் நமது கண்ணும் எந்நாளும் அதன் மேலேயே இருக்கும்.

4 நாம் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் நீ செய்து, நம் கட்டளைகளையும் தீர்ப்புகளையும் கடைப்பிடிக்கும்படி நமது திருமுன் எளிய மனத்துடனும் இதய நேர்மையுடனும் உன் தந்தை தாவீது நடந்ததுபேல் நீயும் நடப்பாயானால்,

5 'இஸ்ராயேலின் அரியணையில் வீற்றிருக்கும் உரிமையாளன் உனக்கு இல்லாமல் போவதில்லை' என்று உன் தந்தை தாவீதுக்கு நாம் சொன்னபடியே, இஸ்ராயேலின்மேல் உன் ஆட்சி என்றென்றும் நிலைக்கச் செய்வோம்.

6 ஆனால் நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் நம்மை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி நாம் உங்களுக்கு விதித்த நம் கட்டளைகளையும் சடங்கு முறைகளையும் பின்பற்றாது அன்னிய தேவர்களை வழிபட்டு ஆராதித்தால்,

7 நாம் இஸ்ராயேலுக்குக் கொடுத்துள்ள நாட்டிலிருந்து அவர்களை வெளியேற்றுவோம். நமது பெயர் விளங்க நாம் பரிசுத்தமாக்கின இவ்வாலயத்தை நம் முன்னிலையில் இராதபடி தகர்த்தெறிவோம். அது இஸ்ராயேல் மக்கள் அனைவருக்குமே பழமொழியாகவும் இழி சொல்லாகவும் இருக்கும்.

8 அதற்கு இவ்வாலயமே மேற்கோளாய் இருக்கும். இவ்வாலயத்தைக் கடந்து போகிற எவரும் வியப்புற்று இழிவாய்ப் பேசி, 'ஆண்டவர் இந்நாட்டிற்கும் இவ்வாலயத்திற்கும் இப்படிச் செய்தது ஏன்?' என்று கேட்பர்.

9 அதற்கு மற்றவர்கள், 'இவ்வினத்தார் தங்கள் முன்னோர்களை எகிப்து நாட்டிலிருந்து மீட்டு வந்த தங்கள் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரை விட்டு விட்டு அன்னிய தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றி அவர்களை வணங்கி வழிபட்டனர். எனவே, ஆண்டவர் இத்தீமைகள் அனைத்தும் அவர்கள்மேல் வரச் செய்தார்' என்று மறுமொழி சொல்வர்" என்றருளினார்.

11 தீரின் அரசன் ஈராம் சாலமோனுக்குத் தேவைப்பட்ட போதெல்லாம் கேதுரு, சப்பீன் மரங்களையும் பொன்னையும் கொடுத்து வந்தான். அதன் பொருட்டுச் சாலமோன் அரசர் ஈராமுக்குக் கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள இருபது நகர்களைக் கொடுத்தார்.

12 தனக்குச் சாலமோன் கொடுத்திருந்த நகர்களைப் பார்வையிட ஈராம் தீவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வந்தான். ஆனால் அவை அவனுக்குப் பிடிக்கவில்லை.

13 எனவே அவன், "என் சகோதரனே, நீ எனக்குக் கொடுத்துள்ள நகர்கள் இவைதானா?" என்று கேட்டு அவற்றிற்குக் காபுல் என்று பெயரிட்டான்; அப்பெயர் இன்று வரை வழங்கி வருகிறது.

14 மேலும் ஈராம் சாலமோன் அரசருக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து நிறையுள்ள பொன்னும் அனுப்பினான்.

15 சாலமோன் அரசர் ஆலயத்தையும் அரண்மையையும் மெல்லோவையும் யெருசலேமின் மதிலையும் எசேரையும் மகத்தோவையும் காசேரையும் கட்டுவதற்குச் செய்த மொத்தச் செலவு இதுவே.

16 எகிப்திய மன்னன் பாரவோன் புறப்பட்டு வந்து காசேரைப் பிடித்து அதைத் தீக்கிரையாக்கி, அதில் குடியிருந்த கானானையரைக் கொன்று போட்டு அந்நகரைச் சாலமோனின் மனைவியாகிய தன் மகளுக்குச் சீதனமாகக் கொடுத்தான்.

17 மேலும் சாலமோன் அக்காசேர் நகரையும் கீழ்பெத்தோரோனாவையும் கட்டினார்.

18 பாகாலாத்தையும் பாலைவன வெளியிலுள்ள பல்மீராவையும்,

19 தமக்கிருந்த அரணற்ற ஊர்களையும் அரணித்து, தேர்கள் இருக்கும் நகர்களையும், குதிரை வீரர் இருக்கும் நகர்களையும் யெருசலேமிலும் லீபானிலும் தம் ஆட்சிக்கு உட்பட்டிருந்த நாடு எங்கணும் தமக்கு விருப்பமான எல்லாவற்றையும் கட்டினார்.

20 இஸ்ராயேல் மக்கள் அல்லாத அமோறையர், ஏத்தையர், பெரேசையர், ஏவையர், எபுசேயர் ஆகிய எல்லா மக்களையும்,

21 இஸ்ராயேல் மக்கள் அழித்து விடாது நாட்டில் விட்டு வைத்திருந்த அவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளையும் சாலமோன் தமக்குக் கப்பம் கட்டச் செய்தார். இன்று வரை அவர்கள் கப்பம் கட்டி வருகிறார்கள்.

22 இஸ்ராயேல் மக்களில் ஒருவரையும் சாலமோன் அடிமையாய் இருக்க விடவில்லை. அவர்கள் போர் வீரரும் அலுவலரும் தலைவர்களும் படைத்தலைவர்களும் தேர்வீரரும் குதிரை வீரருமாய் இருந்தனர்.

23 சாலமோனின் வேலைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் மேற்பார்த்து வேலையாட்களைக் கண்காணிக்கிறதற்கு ஐந்நூற்றைம்பது பேர் தலைமை அலுவலராய் இருந்தனர்.

24 பாரவோனின் மகள் தாவீதின் நகரிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுச் சாலமோன் தனக்குக் கட்டியிருந்த தன் மாளிகைக்கு வந்தாள். அப்போது தான் அரசர் மெல்லோவைக் கட்டி முடித்தார்.

25 சாலமோன் ஆண்டவருக்குக் கட்டியிருந்த பலிபீடத்தின் மேல் ஆண்டிற்கு மூன்று முறை தகனப் பலிகளையும் சமாதானப் பலிகளையும் செலுத்தி ஆண்டவர் திருமுன் உள்ள பலிபீடத்தின் மேல் தூபம் காட்டி வந்தார். ஆலய வேலை எல்லாம் முடிவு பெற்றது.

26 மன்னர் சாலமோன் இதுமேயா நட்டில் செங்கடல் ஓரத்திலுள்ள அயிலாத்திற்கு அருகில் இருக்கும் அசியோன்கபேரில் கடற்படை அமைத்தார்.

27 அக்கடற் படைகளுக்கு கடற்பயணத்தில் திறமை வாய்ந்தவரான தன் ஊழியரைச் சாலமோனின் உழியரோடு ஈராம் அனுப்பி வைத்தான்.

28 இவர்கள் ஒபீருக்குப் போய் அங்கிருந்து நானூற்றிருபது தாலந்து நிறையுள்ள பொன்னைச் சாலமோன் அரசரிடம் கொண்டு வந்தனர்.
